As a former professor of religion and philosophy at various colleges and seminaries in the U.S., my particular interest is in pilgrimages and educational religious tourism in Jordan and Israel. I have been working in the travel industry since moving to the Petra area with my husband in 2018. I enjoy planning unique trips that aren't "cookie-cutter" itineraries and love giving lots of options so that the client can get involved in tailoring the trip to their personal needs and desires. I like to help travelers think outside the box so that the journey gives opportunity for meaningful experiences and relationships across cultural boundaries.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in classic tours for those with a particular interest in historical or religious elements of travel. Further, I see travel as an amazing tool for mutual understanding and ultimately for peace. So I can also help organize group tours that expose travelers to the complexities of life in this region. For example, perhaps you would like to visit a cooperative village jointly founded by Israeli Jews and Arabs, or even meet with local religious and civil leaders from various organizations. I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas about what you want to learn from a trip to the region: Jordan, Israel, Egypt and now Saudi Arabia!"
How did you get involved in travel?
"I went on a group tour to Israel several years ago and left with the idea that working in tourism would be an interesting and gratifying profession. At that time, I was the Dean of a seminary and was quite happy in academia. Then, in 2017, my academic institution closed. So my husband and I decided to make a big change and follow our dream of moving to Jordan to live near Petra. Here, the travel industry is a huge part of the economy, so I began working with a local tour operator."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"I decided to rent a car and drive myself from Barcelona to Montpellier, France during a summer trip. The coastline was marvelous and I was so happy driving along, listening to the French radio and feeling proud of myself for understanding as much as I did. Meanwhile, I was using my phone GPS to keep track of my directions. Yes... when I returned to the US, my cell phone bill was over $1000 due to roaming charges. It was an unforgettable lesson learned, and I couldn't believe I had done it!"

Sara is the one to use. Superb · Jordan - Feb 28 - Mar 2, 2020
I had never been to Jordan, but after some research went for Kimkim. Went with them and Sara(h) was the agent.
She is outstanding. organised an outstanding trip, form collection in Israel to dropping off back in Israel. Great suggestions too. Definitely will recommend her to anyone going to Jordan and Petra. Stayed in a Bedouin camp near Little Petra which was very good, and a lot cheaper than the overpriced hotels in Petra as well.
Happy visit to Jordan, (January 2020) · Jordan - Jan 22 - Jan 30, 2020
My January 2020 trip to Jordan was a great experience. The natural and historical sights were breathtaking - especially Petra, the Dead Sea, and Wadi Rum.
The trip went so well because of the patience, attention-to-detail, and local experience of Sarah who planned and co-ordinated the arrangements for me.
I was a solo traveller and could not have been happier with the sights selected to visit, the accommodation venues, the food, and the skilled, safe, courteous and professional drivers... read more
I had a great time in Jordan · Jordan - Nov 22 - Nov 26, 2019
I had a great time in Jordan. The driver's personalities were great and love what they do. I can't say that what we got was different than what another tour company could have provided though. I booked my own hotels so it was essentially boiled down to a car service. Sarah was incredibly responsive. The drivers were on time 100% of the time. It would have been nice to have a SIM card provided like my Egypt tour gave. Or provided A Jordanian delicacy on arrival as a welcome gift. Or something more to make it stand out. But everything went swimmingly from the transfers and planning.
Jordan visit November 2019 · Jordan - Nov 10 - Nov 16, 2019
Sarah was amazing through this whole process from beginning to end! She mentioned doing 2 extra things while visiting Petra. We had dinner with a local family which was quite nice. We also went to Petra at night. Petra during the day was amazing too. We took full advantage of both days. On the first afternoon we saw the treasury for the first time. We took pictures from a scenic overlook. Then explored a little further and would up at the high place of sacrifice. Day 2 we started super early... read more

Amman, Petra, Dead Sea · Jordan - Sep 15 - Sep 22, 2019
Super easy process, Sarah was wonderful in accommodating all my questions and changes, giving me information on different options available for me at my budget, and very supportive while I was on the trip. As a single woman traveling alone, this was the best value for money I found, a completely tailored trip for me, very professional service from the drivers and Sarah, and a great experience overall.

The trip was really well planned and every single arrangement just worked - even in cases where we requested modifications to the plan.
