Our driver (Haitham Shaltoot) was way more than just a driver. Immediately upon greeting us at the airport he was asking us our likes and dislikes for food, and what we expected from our visit to Jordan. He became our driver, cultural adviser, and tour guide. Without Haitham our trip would have been great, but with him our trip turned into something special that we will always remember. He was great with both of our boys (5 and 10), and ensured that they were always included. We were all saddened to say goodbye to him at the airport on our last day - he had become part of the family.

We met a tremendous guide at Little Petra (Qassim Mohammad). Qassim led us through Little Petra and we were so impressed that we asked him to lead us through the desert to the Monastery at Petra. Qassim not only led us to the Monastery, but he also explained all of the wildlife and vegetation along our journey. We all learned a great deal from Quassim specifically about the Bedouin way of life. He got along so well with our children that he invited us over for dinner after our visit to Petra. His whole family showed us tremendous hospitality and my wife was able to get the experience of our dreams - learning how to cook Arab food from an Arab woman.

I cannot recommend Carmen enough - you cannot go wrong working with her.

We enjoyed our trip to Jordan very much. It was very well planned out. We got to see and experience everything on our list! It was a fast pace, but did allow some down time for a bit of relaxation at the Red Sea and Dead Sea.

Our guide at Petra, Merriam, was exceptional! She invited us to dinner at her sister's house, which allowed us to experience true Bedouin hospitalty.

The hotels were occasionally disappointing. The Grand Hotel in Madaba was especially shabby. However, we really enjoyed the Wadi Rum Aicha Camp!

Hi Minda,

Thanks a lot for your feedback, it is very helpful for us! I am glad you enjoyed your trip, and got to experience the real Bedouin hospitality! Thanks also for the feedback on the Grand Hotel in Madaba, it is the only 4 star hotel there, but I will pass on your feedback of course!

Petra and the dead sea, Jordan - Nov 6 - Nov 9, 2018

Traveler: Pip S. - Local specialist: Carmen Scholten

Everything was great especially our wonderful driver Mohammad who was very informative about the areas we were visiting as well as Jordan in general. We would have liked a bit more time at the dead sea as we arrived at 230 pm and left at 8am the next day. It was a wonderful experience except for our hotel in Petra , the Candles hotel is an absolute dump. We were initially given a room I wouldn't have housed a dog in and the replacement was much better but still way below the standard expected.

Our family of five tried KimKim.com for the first time to help us plan our one week trip to Jordan.

Carmen showed great flexibility and willingness to adapt to our (changing) requirements until we had an itinerary fitting our wishes and budget.

On site in Jordan, things worked nicely and without hickups with regards to booked activities, over night stays and drivers/guides.

All in all a very good experience!

Thank you

We loved the trip. Going to Jordan was a wonderful experience.
There were surprises. One was how long the travel took. Knowing the time frame better in advance would have settled some of our mild anxiety. We were surprised it took all day to get to Wadi Rum and arrived almost at dusk. But the camel ride was waiting and everything ended up perfectly.

Our guide was very good, but she held the mike too close to her mouth and some of her narrative was distorted by the sound on the bus, but that was a fairly minor issue.
The accommodations in Wadi Rum were wonderful, better than expected and the food was very good. Sitting by the fire and experiencing the singing and dancing there at night was a treat. The jeep ride next am was great fun and the scenery incredible.
Petra was magnificent. The hike was long and wearing, and the prospect of coming back on horseback or by carriage was impaired by gouging prices by the carriage drivers and too short a horse ride, so we just walked. We were most thankful for an honest boy who found the backpack I absentmindedly left on the trail. The police escort with us was a godsend as he contacted the police office there and located the backpack, all intact.
Hotel and food in Amman were great. Overall a great experience.

Lena Sluga, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Robert,

My sincerest apologies about the transfer on the first day, I should have indeed calculated more time, as it takes longer with a bus. As already mentioned to Suzanne, as I am usually dealing with individuals in normal cars. But, I am happy you enjoyed your trip anyways, and especially that you got your backpack again!

Greetings & all the best,
Lena

Trip to jordan, Jordan - Oct 16 - Oct 20, 2018

Traveler: Bill A. - Local specialist: Carmen Scholten

The trip was a blast. Our driver Amjad was personable and professional. My only critique is that there was not enough time to do this trip properly. If I did it again, I would skip the Wadi Rum and spend more time in the other locations. We spent a long time driving just for a couple of hours touring the Wadi Rum. Otherwise, it is a good overview of some of the spectacular highlights of Jordan.

Carmen Scholten, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Bill,

Thank you so much for your kind review! It was lovely having you here in the country. I'll pass on your kind words to Amjad as well.

The whole experience was breathtaking. We were very happy with our hotel accommodations. A special shout out to our wonderful driver Akram. If I had to rate Akram from 1 to 10, I'll give him a 20. He went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. He was always prompt, looks professional, very informative and always in a good mood. He ensured that we were taken to the places as per our Itinerary. He made our trip to Jordan very enjoyable and definitely one for the books. Our trip to Jordan was only the first leg of our vacation, we went to Dubai and Switzerland after and enjoyed it but our trip to Jordan was our favorite and the most memorable one, thanks to Imke and Akram! I've already recommended kimkim, Jordan and Akram to a few of my friends who are apprehensive to travel to the middle east. I'm now planning our next vacation to South America through kimkim as well!! Can't wait!! :))

Our guide explained that the people booking this did not understand the time and distances and we needed to be flexible. We cooperated but were surprised that Lena did not know how long it would really take to travel from the Jordan entry point down to Wadi Rum and had put the trip as us getting there for lunch, and doing a jeep tour that day. Wafa was an experienced guide and helpful in many ways. We did not fault her for the confusion on our part when the times were so different that in the paperwork sent out.

Traveler: Peter M. - Local specialist: Carmen Scholten

A stand out negative- the Oscar hotel in Petra is not clean and is very tired and smoky. I asked for simple but clean. We ended up moving to the move pick for our second night. I would remove it from your hotel list.

We also had three different drivers all were nice and efficient but better to have one that can tell a few stories. They were very reliable and punctual though.

Otherwise Jordan was fantastic. Thank you.

Carmen Scholten, local specialist, responded to this review:

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your feedback. I always appreciate to receive this to give better service during the trips for my future guest. The hotels in Petra always seem to be a bottle neck as there is such limited availability. I'm sorry to hear this has put such a mark on your trip. However, I'm very happy to have enjoyed the rest of Jordan and I hope to have inspired you to see more of this special and beautiful region of the world.

Thoughtfully prepared itinerary.
The driver allocated (Nedal) was helpful & advised on circuit and what to expect. Cover the northern side of Amman and the south but Petra just blew me off. What a site but it was beneficial because we engaged a guide at site.
Also incorporated some experience at Wadi Musa & Wadi Rum in the desert wilderness.
Finished the circuit with Aqaba & Dead Sea. Wish we had spent more time here
Be prepared for an active period if you want to enjoy.
Thank you Kim Kim.

The experience with kimkim was good at first, but a lot of important details were missed that soured our experience. Imke never sent us the name or contact info for our driver, despite her assuring us that she would and I reached out to her days before we left to get that info. We felt rather lost when we landed, not sure where to find him since there were groups of drivers/guides at many different places in the airport. Then we got to one of our hotels and it hadn't been paid for and the host at the desk rather aggressively insisted it was my responsibility to pay. I had to call the emergency line to get it resolved, and the whole process took over an hour from our time in Petra as we weren't allowed to leave the hotel without paying. Then, less important but most disappointing: despite confirming with Imke twice that we wanted to do the hot air balloon in Wadi Rum, she did not make the booking and it was already full when we got there so we missed out on one of the parts of our honeymoon that we were most looking forward to experiencing. And our driver was nice but we felt pressured at times to buy things from the gift shops and restaurants that he took us to (I know this is standard on tours but it shouldn't be). And then on our last day we had planned in our itinerary to explore Amman for a few hours but our driver insisted that we should stay at our hotel until 5pm (well past checkout) instead. We pushed back a bit but he was very insistent and so we felt uncomfortable and just agreed to that. Overall, we liked Jordan but I'm not sure I would go through kimkim again.

There was only one small snafu during our trip and it happened while we were visiting Petra. It wasn’t clear to us on the second day of our visit to Petra how and when we were to go there. Consequently, we made arrangements with our driver. It turned out that a guide and driver had already been hired for this, and so this had to be worked out, which it was, with minimal fuss.
I want to thank Lena and KimKim for making our visit to Jordan a really great experience! We will definitely recommend KimKim to our friends and relatives when they travel and will use KimKim for planning our future trips.

Petra was jaw dropping and no doubt to its status as one of the worlds natural wonders. We spent just under 2 days there - plenty of time and right amount of time if you want to see most of Petra as it is absolutely vast. We did three trails on our full day - very tough going and challenging - not to be under estimated as there is plenty of hiking and many steps to climb... we also had 'back door' route planned by Lena the second day - excellent guide was Ibrahim - very funny and informative throughout.

We had a car/transport and an escort throughout. Our driver, Shareef, was helpful, punctual and professional throughout. He made sure our long trips had enough break stops and was always asking if we needed anything and any tips for the next destination. Thanks again to all the team - especially Lena and Shareef.

Our guide Ibrahim for the hike to the Monastery was excellent, as was the hike itself.
Petra is of course amazing and our day and a half there was just about right.
Jerash, Ajloun, Karak and Showback are all impressive and enlightening.
The Dead Sea experience was enjoyable but really only because we could play with our grandchildren in the swimming pool.
A well organised itinerary with sufficient time to see our family in Amman. A trip we will not forget.

We booked a 10 day trip to Jordan as a family (2 adult children). Starting in Amman we did the standard trip - Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba then ending at The Dead Sea.
Lena's communication and advice was excellent. We had a driver (Mohammed) throughout which made the trip very straight forward.
I don't see how you could really cover this ground in a limited amount of time without a driver. The car was very comfortable and Mohammed was efficient and punctual. We got a couple of quotes and this was competitive. Jordan is quite pricey so it would be no cheaper to book once you arrived. Plus this way, everything's organised and you can make the most of your time.

We were mid summer so it was very hot but the plus was that it was very quiet and at times, we had the places to ourselves.

Jordan is a fantastic country with a lot to offer. We loved Amman and its eclectic range of markets and restaurants. The old town was much more interesting to us than the more westernised Rainbow Street. Petra was stunning - we didn't use a guide as the published material is very clear and you can then take things in at your own pace. We spent about 7/8 hours there - be prepared for a lot of walking but there are plenty of places inside to rest and get a drink. (Highly recommend The Old Village Hotel - out of the town up on the hill - but a short taxi ride to the sights).

Jerash, Iraq al Amir, Ajloun - all wonderful. The view across Galilee to Israel and Syria is amazing as is the view across the Dead Sea from Nebo. A lot of the place names are familiar from the Bible so it's really moving to actually see these landscapes which haven't really changed after thousands of years. All these sites were pre-planned and were more beautiful and atospheric than we'd imagined. The Karak castle was also really interesting.

Wadi Rum - much more interesting than I'd expected -we had the four hour jeep ride which I had been expecting to be too long but there was a lot to see (including a stunning sunset). We stayed at the Luxury Tented Camp which is a novel experience as the tents have a transparent side - allowing a clear view at night. Food at this place wasn't so good but you are in the middle of the desert! Tents are comfortable with their own small bathroom area. It was quiet when we stayed but there is a bar around a fire which allows you to take in the amazing mountain and desert scenery.

Next to Aquaba - good places to eat in town (recommend Syrian Palace). We went out to the beach for the day which was a welcome chance to rest after all the travelling. Water near the shore was not as clean as you'd hope but if you swim out from the jetty it's crystal clear. You can hire a mask/snorkel.

Finally - The Dead Sea. Now this was a great experience from the point of view of floating in the Dead Sea and covering yourself in the famous mud. The hotels are all resort style. We don't really go for this type of accommodation - (Marriot) it was packed with families and struggling to keep up with being fully occupied. If you don't like this ritzy type of place, it would be worth looking for something more low key and calmer. On the way to the airport we visited Bethany beyond the Jordan - someone was being baptised.

One thing to check- we had booked a cookery lesson and Mohammed duly got us to the place on time but communication clearly hadn't been clear, as they weren't expecting us. They cooked a delicious meal but no lesson. The other thing we didn't see which was on our itinerary was the Dana Nature Reserve - I guess we just ran out of time.

So - if you're undecided on Jordan - we'd definitely recommend! It's different - another culture - lots of historical sites and wonderfully friendly people. It really worked as a destination for all ages.

One of the best things about my trip to Jordan when booking through Kimkim was my driver, Yahya. I wasn't sure about doing an individual trip to another country. But my driver was great company, he was a good converser.

He talked me through what to expect, how to get the most out of my trip, also made recommendations to see things, such as on our way to Dana Village, he knew of a great spot to view the sunset so we were able to catch that. He had great recommendations of places to eat. All in all, he made the trip a much better than what it would have been otherwise

He even brought a Hotspot so I can stay connected on the trip.

I started from Amman to the North, Jerash and Ajloun. These places held ancient and medieval sites of Romans, a complete city, and a Muslim castle.

The next day was Madaba, Karak and Dana village. I really enjoyed Dana village and seeing the 500 year old village. The highlight of the visit was going on a hike with the local bedouin man that has lived in those mountains for more than 60 years.

After that was Aqaba and Dead Sea. Aqaba is a nice city, it was nice to see another bustling city since I left Amman. I enjoyed my stay there next to the sea. The Dead Sea resort I was at for some reason didn't have access to the beach open. Only to their pools, which was a let down.

After that, being back in Amman before my flight back was great. I was able to get some good falafel and shawerma one last time.

Lena Sluga, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Bilal,

Thank you very much for your review, I'll pass it on to Yahya as well :) Glad to hear that you loved the Falafel and Shawerma here also!

What a fabulous trip we had. Carmen planned the trip flawlessly and provided great itinerary suggestions. Our driver Shareef was fantastic and flexible as necessary. Highlights were Petra, Dana reserve (wish we'd stayed 2 nights!), Wadi Rum and Wadi Mujib. The trip was a great mix of culture, historical sites and hikes/canyoning. The Jordanians were ever welcoming and we did not want to leave!

Dear Gemma,

Thank you so much for your kind review! It was lovely having you two here in the country. I'll pass on your kind words to Shareef as well.

We hope to have inspired you to come back to this beautiful part of the world and explore even more of the country.

The sunrise jeep ride through Wadi Rum was breathtaking, camel ride was a lot of fun and then we made our way to the dead sea. The resort was beautiful and we had a great time getting mud wraps and taking advantage of the hotel spa's amenities and pools. Wadi Mujib was amazing, definitely a challenge, and our driver got us to the airport nice and early for our 5:30am flight to Cairo. It was an excellent trip!

Carmen was great with helping me organise the trip based on my tight timelines.

My original driver Nedal ended up falling ill and was replaced with Ahmed who was lovely. He didn't have as much knowledge as Nedal but was nothing but professional and ensured my safety came first.

Loved the Jordanian hospitality. Amazing place and I look forward to returning, hopefully in the near future

The Art Hotel (Downtown) was a great location and good place to stay and get a feel of life of the ordinary people in Amman. The Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum was below our expectations in terms of accommodation. However, the staff were excellent and the jeep tour in the desert was good. (Again I am not pointing any fingers as it was my choice for a 3 star accommodation, but if I may suggest a little more information about the accommodation during the planning stages would have helped).

We were not aware that we had to pay for towels & lockers at the Dead Sea Resort - an alert/info on this matter would have helped.

Overall, we were happy. Cheers.

Overall, our trip to Jordan and Israel was great.

Our journey to Jordan was well-taken care by Akram. He led us to many spectacular spots, which were unforgettable. He also shared Jordanian history and culture. The service Akram provided was exceptional.

We were particularly grateful to be arranged to accommodate in the luxury camp in the Wadi Rum Desert. Our camp was so luxurious and beautiful, which was beyond our expectations. The food was good. And our favourite part was hooka-ing under the starry night in the middle of the desert. This was an experience that we would never forget.

However, there is still room for improvements for hotels we lived in Jordan. While it was true that the rooms are spacious, they were not as clean as we expected. There was little hair on the pillow cover in one of the hotels that we lived which implied that the hotel did not wash their pillow cover for every guest they served. Moreover, Worst of all, our experience in the Dead Sea Spa Hotel was horrible. While they had a good buffet, we were disappointed with the attitude of their staff members. Our room lock was not walking initially and the hotel made a promise that it only took five minutes for them to fix it. However, it eventually took us two to three hours to wait for the response from the hotel, in spite of our repeated and kind request to the hotel to fix the lock. We only had one night in the Dead Sea area and much time was wasted in fixing the lock of our room. What a pity!

Moreover, we were advised to purchase a 2-day Jordan pass. It turned out that we only spent one day in Petra. Perhaps better communication should be made between different parties so as to save us some money.

For our journey in Israel, we are amazed by the choice of hotel, which were so fancy. Also, the group tours are generally good. The tour guides were humorous. Yet, there was one exception, our tour to Bethlehem was poorly arranged. The tour guide looked grumpy all the time. Worse, our tour was conducted in both English and Spanish. Since it was apparent that the tour guide was more proficient in Spanish, I and my friends felt neglected by the tour guide. The queuing arrangement in the church of Bethlehem sucked! People just pushed others, without order and discipline.

Moreover, it will be great if there were fewer 'shopping stops' in those group tours in Israel. Frankly speaking, we were not really interested in shopping and we found those compulsory stays in their assigned shops was quite annoying.

Thank you Lena for all the arrangments, we really appreciate that. Generally speaking, we had a good experience. Yet, there were still minor parts that Lena should take care of to further improve the quality of similar tours later on.

Lena Sluga, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Regina, thanks a lot for your valuable feedback, we really appreciate it, as it helps us to improve in the future! All the best, Lena

Jordan was amazing. The people are amazing. The food is incredible. The history is epochtic. The landscape is jawdropping.

Ahmad was waiting to pick me up at the airport and from the-get proved to be the best companion for this five day trip that I could ever ask for. He was my driver, my dj, my translator, my dance partner, my diary, my sidekick, my smilemirror, my protector, my lunch partner, my tea connoisseur, my phototakeouter and the best tourguide that I’ve ever had on any of my travels.

On our many roads to cross journey, I was introduced to songs that I had never heard before! Music, dancing and laughter was our modus operandi. He even played an Arabic song that would become the songtrack of my trip – so much so that I made him stop the car so that I could get out and dance barefooted in the desert. I wish I remembered it now. He told me the name but I forgot. Needless to say I had F.U.N!

Unto Jordan.

I loved visiting Jordan. I loved it. It helped that I was riding a wave of happy. The visit to Jordan was the culmination of my one-a-year odyssey that I started in 2012, visiting one of the New Seven Wonders of the World every year. Jordan was the one that happened last and may arguably be the best visit for several personal reasons.

Considering its location, the country is pretty peaceful but mostly known for the ancient Nabataean city of Petra which was carved out of rock over 2000 years ago and is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The city is carved out of these massive towering boulders that occupy several complexes. There is one gate in and one gate out but you rarely ever repeat your steps; often every cornerturn yields a new and magnificent site. Its dramatic and astounding and the walls echo a remarkable history.

After you enter through the gate, you walk through what is called a Siq which highlights the way in which water was harvested and channeled throughout the city, the Siq opens you up to this massive monument called the Treasury. I got there at 7am, it was kinda cold, not many tourists were around, so I got to poke around, peep in, explore at leisure and have not too many people in my pictures. A few hours later, the place was crawling with tourists.

Then I took a different route to climb to the top of an adjacent mountain to see the Treasury from the top. After I dismounted one mountain, I began an epic journey of climbing 1000 steps to view the Monastery – the largest of Petra’s carved structures and an amazing monstrosity of a building. The symmetry of the structure built at a time when engineering was not what it is today, is a sight to behold and the views from on top of the mountain of the surrounding landscape were nothing short of amazing.

As I was making my way off of the mountain, possibly at the last one hundred steps, the sky got dark and it started to rain. I had my umbrella, so the torrential rain was hardly a challenge, but I got to see first-hand how the water is channeled through the gorges of Petra, and how the engineering actually worked. That in itself was an amazing sight. After a couple of minutes though, the water grew fierce. The guides started shouting “save yourself, run for your lives” as the water started swiftly collecting and gushing through the Siq. Not exactly what you want to hear on your travels! The Treasury was opened and tourists piled in as its higher ground provided security and shelter. Needless to say, no one died, the tourism authority trucked the tourists who were stuck far into Petra out. I walked out, but my sneakers never made the journey back. I lost them to Petra.

I called Ahmad to pick me up, I got home and changed and got to Petra Kitchen just in time for my culinary dinner tutorial on the food and delicacies of Jordan, myself and about 20 other persons cooked five courses and sat and ate them all. By the time I got home, I was spent but completely satisfied.

Over the next few days, I toured the enchanting desert landscape of Wadi Rum, where I camped out one night under the desert moon listening to a very silent night. I also visited little Petra, Shobak, the Dead Sea, Mt Nebo and Madaba. When I left Jordan, I felt such a connection with its people who at the drop, were less interested in me buying their wares, and were more intrigued to invite me for copious amounts of fragrant tea, have me sit with them as they tried to figure out from whence I came and laugh uproariously at their confusion of what the Caribbean is.

Jordan is a country of settlers and refugees in that many persons moved there from neighbouring states; and were forced to forge an identity out of a new landscape – possibly one of every three persons hail from a neighbouring country. Quite similar to what the Caribbean represents – it is a place that people make their own. I felt awed by the landscape which since biblical times had held such importance to the region and I felt moved by the culmination of my own insatiable desire to see the world as the world sees itself.

Oh, the joy of travel.

A friend recently reminded me of a response that I had given to the question of my travels, where is my favourite place in the world, and my response to him, is that I haven’t been there yet! That’s so me!

Now that the seven wonders are done, I need to see more. I need to travel even more. There is so much more to discover and so I wonder and I wander and I can’t wait to see where my wanderings take me to next!

Wael showed great customer experience. Super friendly. Kept us safe. Gave us the appropriate warnings at certain sites. Highly knowledgeable of Jordan. Always prompt. Drove extremely well through the changing terrain and crazy traffic. Introduced us to delicious authentic Jordanian cuisine. We felt like we were on vacation throughout the whole trip. No stress at all, like our other trips. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone! Thank you kimkim, Lena, Wael and Jordan for give us an awesome vacation!

My trip to Jordan was everything and a bit more from what I have expected :)
Carmen has provided me with an amazing service from the beginning and she was great accommodating all the places I wanted to visit in only 5 days, thank you so much for that!

Amman was very interesting and I really enjoying walking around the Paris Circle and getting lost on Circles 1 and 2... also on day 2 going to Mount Nebo and Bethany beyond the Jordan was a great experience, and needless to say that a pit stop by the Dead Sea it's always a great idea ;-)
Qusai my driver was super nice and flexible and always making sure to make pit stops to get me black tea with sage, water, sweets and the best falafel that I have ever had in the middle of nowhere on my way to Fernan Ecolodge.
I always wanted to go to Petra and I can only say that it was amazing! I am happy I spent 1 and 1/2 day there as this gave me enough time to do the back trail to the Monastery the first afternoon and enjoy the Trail to High Place of Sacrifice ( 4.5 hours and lots of steps) and the some other interesting spots on the second day.
I have really enjoyed my stay at the Feynan Ecolodge and the night at Khaled's Camp in Wadi Rum, to be honest, I never thought I would have liked to be in the desert as much as I did... Khaled is amazing and he even managed to get me on the hot air balloon the next morning, although I forgot to tell Carmen that this is something that I wanted to do and they were super flexible helping me with the payment, as I did not have enough Jordanian Dinars with me. Shukran again Khaled and Qusai :-)
Last but not least l couldn't leave Jordan without enjoying a beautiful afternoon in Aqaba relaxing by the beach sipping cocktails on the Red Sea...
By now, I hope you will drop Carmen a message for your personalized trip and go enjoy the best of Jordan! I am already looking forward to go back...

I'm the Head of Content at kimkim, and booked part of my recent trip to Jordan with Carmen from In2Jordan. One of my absolute favorite memories is from my time in Wadi Rum, the desert wilderness in southern Jordan. I was originally scheduled for an overnight "digital detox" experience, complete with private yoga sessions and sleeping under the stars (no tent!) in the middle of the beautiful desert. Due to crazy weather and some other unavoidable circumstances, this had to be canceled day-of. Carmen immediately got to work finding alternate options for me, and managed to book one of the very highly coveted bubble tents at Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp (see photo). This was unforgettable - I felt like I was waking up on Mars!

Thank you to Carmen for being reliable and available during my trip, and quickly coming to my rescue with a fantastic alternative to my original plan!

The only thing that I would change is the 4-hour 4x4 Jeep Tour that we had in the desert. We really enjoyed that tour, but the car was not even close to a Jeep. It was an old vintage car, which caused us some headache.

Adventure, exploration, Jordan - Mar 11 - Mar 19, 2018

Traveler: Graham I. - Local specialist: Carmen Scholten

The trip was amazing. Carmen did a great job planning the excursion, she was always available to answer any questions or make last minute accommodations.
Akram was our guide for most of the trip. He was knowledgeable about all the sites we travelled to. Gave us lots of free time to explore. His english is impeccable but most impressive was his driving skills. Couldn't ask for a better guide.
Petra was unbelievable. We were there for 2 nights and 1 full day. If you like hiking I would recommend 2 to 3 days there. A lot more to see then just the treasury.
Overall the trip was 5 stars

Even on returning home Carmen and her KimKim team have been amazing as I left my Bose headphones in the car transfer to the airport!!! Carmen had tracked them down and sent them home to me.
First time using KimKim and I’m sure not the last! Fantastic service from everyone!!

My only suggestion might be to offer a range for the tent stay in Wadi Rum...I believe we might have chosen a place that had hot water. (The place was stunning and this is a minor issue). Last piece of advice: stay 2 days in Petra and 2 in Wadi Rum - so much to take in, so much to see!

The driver and car assigned were good (once one got accustomed to the strong cigarette smell).

Dear Pheroze,

Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate the opportunity to upgrade our services. Due to availability, the hotel you stayed in was the best option we could find for you. I would have loved to known about the driver right away so we could have taken action, just like we did when you contacted us about the hotel. Hoping to have a great journey/budget tour, Jordan - Mar 2 - Mar 8, 2018

Traveler: Gerelyn G. - Local specialist: Carmen Scholten

Thank you to Carmen who facilitated our first trip to Jordan. It eased our apprehensions knowing we have transports and guides to assist us in a foreign land. The recommendations to stay at the Wadi Rum Luxury Night camp, and accesss to the Dead Sea at Dead Sea Spa Hotel —spot on! The Backdoor hike to Petra’s Monastery from little Petra— incredible ! We are also grateful to our guide, Ibrahim whose personality and character, stands out amongst the many we have met.
Thank you again. Hope to be back soon.

Carmen Scholten, local specialist, responded to this review:
