Vasilis Sarmantas

A true Greek by birth and at heart, I am passionate about traveling and sharing the love for my country with people from all around the world. I am always eager to explore off the beaten path and acquire new experiences that I can then pass on to future travelers.

There's no right or wrong, no musts. I believe that every traveler is different and that every trip is a window into discovering new cultures, traditions and of course foods! This is why I think every trip should be curated to your personal travel style so you can create unique and lasting memories!

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Greece is a diverse country, full of coastlines and mountains. We can put together anything from road trips in the mainland to sailing trips or island hopping tours through the islands.
Whether you want to relax at a beach or climb Mount Olympus, cook local recipes or dive into the history of the Acropolis, we have you covered to experience Greece the way you want! "

How did you get involved in travel?

"Having lived and worked abroad, I had the opportunity to travel far and wide. I always found myself missing the "insider" touch for a more authentic and local experience. Although I started my career in business abroad, I took the bold decision to return home and do something that I love! I've been exploring different parts of Greece all my life, meeting new people, and living new experiences. This was the perfect background for me to start sharing my "insider" knowledge. I envisioned Curated Greece as a way to authentically create trips that would resonate with each traveler.

And here we are today with our dedicated team of travel enthusiasts still creating unforgettable journeys in Greece!"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Three friends and I decided one winter day to explore up in Central Greece and so we left for an off-road expedition. As night fell, we caught up with some blustery weather, snow and rain, sleet and hail, causing natural road blocks. A little scared at this point, we kept driving and following any roads that were still accessible. We ended up driving several hours on totally uncharted mountain dirt roads. But finally to our satisfaction we saw the village of Agrafa, which translates to the "Unwritten" village. The lights of the village brought us to a local guesthouse where the owner, Mrs. Niki, graciously welcomed us in and made us feel at home. She prepared an unforgettable meal using ingredients grown right in her backyard garden. This is truly an experience I'll never forget. It allowed me to feel the excitement of adventure, discover unparalleled natural beauty and then experience genuine hospitality of an almost forgotten village."
