This program is designed for those with a passion for the ocean and a commitment to preserving our precious marine ecosystems. On your full day Outer Reef tour, you'll be a vital part of our Citizen Science and Research Team, contributing to ongoing reef conservation projects on the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef.

Your day will begin at 8am as you cruise from Cairns aboard the stylish Passions Catamaran. Enjoy a morning tea on board and get acquainted with your fellow team members as our Master Reef guide introduces the itinerary for the day. You'll be treated to exclusive reserved seating for our research team and a personalized experience from start to finish, courtesy of a dedicated Master Reef Guide host. All snorkeling equipment will be provided, and your safety will be our utmost priority.

Upon arriving at our first location, you will begin your first Citizen Science activity of the day. These activities will include completing Sightings Network submissions and Rapid Monitoring Survey Reports for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority as part of the Eye on the Reef network. You will also assist our Master Reef guides as they survey reef locations and monitor reef health. After a team debrief, it's time for a tropical buffet lunch of hot and cold dishes, with dietary requirements catered for upon request.

The afternoon will find you at our second location, ready for your second in-water activity. You could be monitoring coral planting as part of the Coral Nurture Program, supervised by the University of Technology Sydney. After all data has been collected and recorded for the day, wind down with a cold drink while afternoon tea is served.
