What you'll do

Begin your day at the award-winning Coral Sea Marina just before 9 a.m. where you'll meet your friendly guide and skipper. Here, you'll register with the team and get fitted for your stinger suit and life jacket. If needed, you can use the restroom before departure, as onboard facilities exist but are limited. You'll have time to grab a coffee and breakfast from the marina cafe while you wait for the tour to begin.

At 9 a.m. sharp, you'll board the boat for a safety briefing before setting sail towards Tongue Bay. As you cruise, take in the stunning views of the Whitsunday Islands. Your first stop will be the world-famous Whitehaven Beach, where you will disembark and spend an hour exploring. Feel the 98% pure silica sand between your toes as you stroll along the pristine shore. You might even recognize the beach from the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" which was filmed in nearby Champagne Bay.

After your beach exploration, it's time for a guided bushwalk up to Hill Inlet Lookout. The walk takes around 15 minutes on average, passing through shaded dirt paths and stone steps. There might be muddy patches if it has recently rained, so dress accordingly. At the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views from three different lookout platforms. While you enjoy the scenery, your guide will share insights into the area's Aboriginal culture and the fascinating geographical transformations that have occurred over time.

Once you've taken in the views from Hill Inlet Lookout and spent some time relaxing or swimming at Whitehaven Beach below, you'll return to the Thundercat for a scrumptious lunch, catered for all dietary needs. Satisfied and reenergized, you're then off to Butterfly Bay for your first snorkeling experience. Discover the colorful corals and marine life of the Great Barrier Reef as you dive into the crystal-clear water. After about an hour, you'll sail to Manta Ray Bay, also known as the "fish bowl". Here, you'll have another opportunity to snorkel and marvel at the abundant marine life.

The last part of your day will be the return journey to the Coral Sea Marina, leaving at around 4:30 p.m. It's a chance to relax and take in the views one last time as the sun starts to set. Once you dock, depending on your destination, there might be a short wait for bus transfers. But no worries, it's a perfect opportunity to reflect on your unforgettable day exploring the Whitsunday Islands.
