What you'll do

This Tasmanian adventure begins when your private guide picks you up at your accommodation at 8:30 am for a scenic drive through the Derwent Valley. Keep your camera handy as you pass historic villages, orchards, and hop fields, and listen as your guide shares fascinating stories of the region's past and present. Your first stop is at Mount Field National Park, the state's oldest nature reserve, home to lush, temperate rainforest and some of the tallest flowering trees on Earth. Here, your guide will lead you on a gentle hike to reach Russell Falls, pointing out the region's diverse flora and fauna along the way.

Afterward, refuel with a classic Tasmanian lunch before continuing to the renowned Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. At this haven for native Australian animals, you'll have the opportunity to meet fascinating creatures like Tasmanian devils, wombats, and quolls, and see the sanctuary's vital conservation efforts firsthand. Don't miss the chance to feed the gentle Forester kangaroos (a subspecies that's endemic to Tasmania), before you get back on the road to return to your accommodation by 4:30 pm.
