What you'll do

The day begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cairns, where you'll meet your friendly driver guide and set off toward the Cattana Wetlands, a peaceful nature reserve home to a remnant feather palm forest. Enjoy a guided walk through the wetlands, pausing to take in the mirrored surface of Jabiru Lake and the sounds of native birdlife, and listen on as your guide shares insights into the area's delicate ecosystem.

Next, you'll travel to Barron Falls, known to locals as Din Din, one of the region's most iconic natural landmarks. Here, a Djabugay Indigenous guide will greet you with a warm welcome and ask you to participate in a traditional "calling to country" experience. Here, you'll learn about the land's cultural and spiritual significance to the people of the Djabugay nation. This authentic connection offers a deeper understanding of the waterfall's importance beyond its appearance—it's a meaningful moment that highlights the region's living heritage.

Your adventure continues to the Skybury Coffee Plantation, Australia's oldest coffee plantation and the country's largest papaya grower. You'll sit down to a delicious lunch featuring Skybury's signature flavors, infused with local coffee and papaya elements. Afterward, relax on the terrace with views across the Tablelands as you sample freshly roasted coffee and a taste of Skybury's own coffee liqueur.

A short drive brings you to Emerald Creek Ice Creamery, a family-run gem where you'll be treated to four flavors of homemade ice cream crafted from local ingredients. You'll then end your experience with flair aboard the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, a journey over and through the World Heritage–listed Wet Tropics Rainforest, a biodiversity hotspot and the world's oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest. You'll cruise silently above the canopy, stopping at both Red Peak and Barron Falls stations to walk the boardwalks, admire panoramic lookouts, and learn more about the rainforest's ecology from on-site guides.

When the time has come, you'll meet your driver at the cableway's Smithfield Terminal for a comfortable return to your accommodation in Cairns.
