For me, traveling is about opening my eyes to new cultures, flavors, ways of life and different perceptions of the world. I love interacting with local communities, learning more about their everyday lives and sharing knowledge.
I have been working with international development for several years which has given me the opportunity to travel and live in different places in South American and Africa - two continents which fascinate me deeply. When I travel I look for every-day experiences which involve talking to the people around me and slowly getting to know their history and particular culture.
I am originally from Denmark but based in the amazing city of Lima in Peru!
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Latin America (especially Brazil), East Africa and Southern Europe are regions where I have both traveled and lived for several years. I specialize in activities related to sustainable travel, culture, history, food & local experiences."
How did you get involved in travel?
"I come from a family which is spread around most of Europe, so I have since very young been used to traveling to visit family members in distant locations. My first taste of a more adventurous travel experience, was when I traveled throughout Thailand with my parents and brother as 12-year-old, which I absolutely loved."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"My most influential travel experience was when I went to Brazil for the first time, to study sustainable development during my years at university. I arrived at the South American continent with no Portuguese skills and no experience in studying abroad and was at first intimidated by a culture so different to what I was used to. After a few weeks, I fell completely in love with Brazil and South American culture and I have lived in South America on and off ever since. "
