Anne Godoy

Once I finished school, I learned that my country and the rest of the world had so many unique and beautiful cultures and experiences to explore. I decided to travel around Peru to some off-the-beaten-path destinations. I had an amazing time, and by the end of my trip, I realized that I wanted to help others have similar life-changing experiences, so I decided to pursue travel and tourism professionally.

I've had the chance to visit and learn about a diverse array of people, cultures, and amazing landscapes in Peru. Now I love having the opportunity to share and help others to discover the soul of Peru, a soul that is full of ancient culture, nature, diversity, and uniqueness.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I specialize in nature and activities in the middle of the rainforest, here in Peru this would be Iquitos and Puerto Maldonado.
Also culture and community-based tourism, which you can find throughout Peru, such as Machu Picchu, Cusco city and surroundings, Arequipa, Puno, Northern Andes and some off-the-beaten-path destinations like Huancaya."

How did you get involved in travel?

"When I was a child I always dreamed of traveling and exploring new places. Later, as a teenager, I started to travel around Peru, and I knew that Tourism was the professional path I wanted to follow. I started my career, and through years of travel and professional experience, I have become more conscious of all of the wonderful things that Peru has to offer. Then I joined the Peruvian Soul team, where everyone shares the same passion about our country and wants to share their knowledge with everyone else. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit Iquitos, where the Amazon River is born. I spent few days in the middle of the jungle, where I had the chance to meet local communities, learn about different wildlife preservation projects, navigate the river, and watch the sunset over the Amazon River. Just an unforgettable and incredible experience! "

Many thanks to kimkim and Peruvian Soul for making our vacation a trip of a lifetime!

Many thanks to kimkim and Peruvian Soul for making our vacation a trip of a lifetime!

From the minute Carlos picked us up at the airport, he was friendly and welcoming which was a perfect start to our trip. Our lunch at Maido to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday was fun and delicious. Then, we learned so much from Diego about the history and politics of Peru during our drive to Pisco to see the Nazca Lines. The Nazca Lines flyover was fascinating and memorable, although a little more adventurous than I anticipated (still super glad I did it though). During the ride back to Lima, Diego heard us talking about how we were interested in seeing the Barranco neighborhood, so he took us on an impromptu and walking tour there.

But the person who made our trip absolutely over the top perfect was Julio Caesar. He is so kind, knowledgeable, and just an absolutely wonderful human being. We loved the women's textile collective, the salt mines in Maras, the circular terraces in Moray, Ollantaytambo Fortress, the Andean Pacamana lunch, and the outdoor market in Cusco. But the absolutely best part of our trip was the day we went to Machu Picchu. It was beautiful, spiritual, and life-changing.

Thank you again kimkim - we are already talking about where to go on our summer vacation and we wouldn't dream of planning it without you!
