Anne Godoy

I fell in love with Peru's landscapes, culture, food, and people—not only because of what I learned in college but also because of what I had seen and lived my whole life.

That passion and love for my country drive me every day to help other travelers to explore Peru and have a life-changing experience.

I find so much joy in sharing and helping others discover Peru's soul—a soul full of ancient culture, nature, and uniqueness!

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Peru. If I had to choose one, the Cusco area and surroundings must be, especially off-the-beaten-path activities in the most visited destination.
Still, I have planned trips for all over Peru northern and southern, and I love planning for families, honeymooners, and group trips."

How did you get involved in travel?

"When I was a child, I always dreamed of traveling and exploring new places. Later, as a teenager, I started to travel around Peru, and I knew that Tourism was the professional path I wanted to follow. I started my career, and through years of travel and professional experience, I have become more conscious of all of the wonderful things that Peru has to offer. Then I joined the Peruvian Soul team, where everyone shared the same passion and values."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Iquitos, where the Amazon River is born. I spent a few days in the middle of the jungle. I had the chance to meet local communities, learn about different wildlife conservation projects, navigate the river, and watch the sunset over the Amazon River. Just an unforgettable and incredible experience! "

Our itinerary through Peru was beautifully curated, and it’s no exaggeration to say that Peruvian Soul, their local partner, knocked it out of the park. Our tour guide Christian was better than we could have dreamed up! Every detail was handled with precision and heart. The accommodations, transportation, and excursions were all thoughtfully chosen — Christisn essentially was nothing short of incredible. Knowledgeable, passionate, and endlessly kind, He brought Peru’s rich culture and history to life in a way we’ll never forget.

Kimkim has gained lifelong fans in us — this wasn’t just a vacation, it was a life-changing experience.

EJ became part of the family. His kindness, hospitality, and engagement (vast depth and breadth of history and culture), made our trip exceptional. We felt immersed and welcomed in the culture. We loved the hikes, traditional earthen pot meal, the winter solstice festival, the fabulous gastronomy, and of course, the Machu Picchu experience. He had a way of reading us / our needs, and flexing to be more present or more behind the scenes. We loved having him join us for meals and his stories made our experience so enriching. Biggest highlight of our time in Peru was meeting the people, especially Rosaura (11 year old who became fast friends with my daughter) as EJ facilitated her joining us to tour Cusco (with her parents' permission of course).

Great location and stunning views of the river. Elevator smelled like mold / mildew so we used the stairs, thankfully we were on the 3rd floor. We had a massage at the lower level of the hotel which was a little sketchy (room seemed unfinished and they could do more to protect modesty). We had to ask 3 times for additional towels and finally just stayed at the front desk until they handed them to us.

Stunning historic hotel that was beautifully appointed with lovely community spaces in a natural environment (with games and tea, water). The breakfast was the best on the trip - with full buffet and order off the menu. We enjoyed a lovely yoga class on site. Location was ideal, in the center of the city.

This was a quick overnight for flying out. Only 1.5 miles from the airport but took like 45 min to get there bc of the traffic and screwed up roadways. We had to leave at 4:30am and asked if we could take breakfast to-go and they were militant about not allowing us to take any food away (despite having our own containers) and only allowed us to take a piece of fruit and coffee.

Beautiful hotel with fascinating antiques throughout. We loved drinks at the quaint bar, and morning coffee on the terrace. Breakfast was delicious. We were so grateful to have filtered water stations on each floor which made it easy to stay hydrated which was so important for us to enjoy our stay.

Beautiful historic hotel but disappointed in customer service. Lovely room that accommodated our family of 4 very comfortably. Excellent breakfast. We loved cozy bar/ community room on the first night. We were disappointed to see the room closed on the second night (for maintenance). Unfortunately the hot tub was non-operational which limited the amenities available on the gorgeous grounds. With no hot tub and no community room, they missed an opportunity to "made it right" by providing a fire pit for guests as an alternative gathering spot. Despite us asking about it, they did not seem interested (although fire pit was available for sale- outrageously priced at 1 bundle of wood for $25USD for only 1 hour). We asked for their assistance in calling a taxi but they did not know how to do this or didn't want to be bothered. Lastly, with an early morning departure, we were frustrated they did not allow us to take breakfast food to go, but did give us some dry snacks and bottle of water. Staff seemed to hide behind a language barrier and just didn't seem motivated or interested in providing a good customer experience.

We loved our time exploring Cusco for 2 reasons: first, bc it was the summer solstice festival and second bc our guide coordinated Rosaura (girl from the alpaca farm) to be able to join us for the day. We toured the city with her and took her to lunch - she was an absolute joy to be with and for my kids to have a real cultural exchange.

We have had a hard time thinking of anything we would even change about our trip, it was that wonderful. Our guide Julio was so knowledgeable and attentive and punctual. He and our driver Odilon were like old friends after a week together. We always felt safe and well taken care of. We will absolutely use kimkim again.

There were four of us, all women ranging in age from 60 to 70. The trip was fantastic from beginning to end; action-packed and curated to our specific tastes. We spent several days in Lima, enjoying the art, culture and food (note that there are a handful of restaurants on the current "Best 50 restaurants in the world" in Lima!). Anne chose a wonderful, small boutique hotel for us in the hip Barranco district - Villa Barranco - which we loved. Special shout-out to the multi-talented Julio, who made the best pisco sours of the trip!! We then moved on to the Sacred Valley for several nights, blissed out at Sol y Luna, a gorgeous Relais & Chateaux property that Anne proposed. While in the Sacred Valley, we enjoyed a beautiful meal at a hacienda, visited a cooperative where we learned the secrets of backstrap weaving, made our own ceramic pieces, had a fabulous pachamanca and liquor distilling experience, hiked along the river from one town to another, visited Inca sites, and more! Then it was on to the incomparable Machu Picchu (it's even more beautiful and mystical than the photos we've all seen), via the luxury Hiram Bingham train (highly recommended!) and afterwards, Cusco for a couple of nights (Palacio del Inka hotel in Cusco was another highlight, again suggested by Anne). In the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco, we had a fantastic guide, Mario, and a warrior of a driver, Wilbur, both of whom kept us safe and well-informed, and ultimately became friends. One very important part of having a specialist plan a trip is the knowledge that if things go awry, you will be well taken care of. We had no large mishaps but a few minor ones did pop up (as they do on almost every adventure) and Peruvian Soul (thank you, Jesus!) and Mario were quick to find solutions and solve problems. I could not be happier with this trip, and highly recommend Peruvian Soul (and Anne Godoy) as top-notch trip planners.

Our family trip to Peru was truly amazing! After 40 years, I finally returned to show my family my mother's roots, and the experience did not disappoint.

We spent most of our time in Cusco, where we met our wonderful guide, Guido. He walked with us, talked with us, laughed with us, and showed us the sites, the streets, and the community. We truly learned so much about the people and culture of Cusco ad Peru. We visited Moray and the Las Salinas de Maras - impressive, natural sites.

We visited Machu Picchu twice, completing both Circuit One and Two, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Aguas Calientes was phenomenal. Our hotel, literally right on the river, had a balcony that allowed me to fall asleep to the most beautiful sounds of the water.

We also got to see Rainbow Mountain at Palcoyo which was absolutely breathtaking. The unexpected beauty of that area felt untouched, yet there were still plenty of comforts. The cuisine throughout our trip was amazing, and the transportation was phenomenal. Our guide, Guido, truly made the trip spectacular.

Later, we visited Lima and had the opportunity to go on a food tour with David, who was absolutely charming and phenomenal. Not only was the food delicious and plentiful, but he also walked us through Barranco and showed us some beautiful sites. The people of Peru are kind, friendly and hard working. It was the perfect trip!

Miguel is one of the best we work with, and I am happy to read you find your time with him to be one of the highlights of your trip.

I hope Peru left you with unforgettable memories and experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime. ✨

Best Regards
Anne
