Christos Mylonas

When I first traveled as an adult in a Greek island in Cyclades, 24 years ago, it was an experience that changed my life. I was 18 and it was really exciting to be in charge of my holidays. Due to our lack of experience and lack of organization, a lot of things went wrong, but this did not bothered us: it was a great adventure, the greater time of our lives until then!
I've been traveling in Greece and abroad since that first experience and learn how to carefully plan my trip and how to take advantage of all the opportunities available while traveling, but also to avoid trouble.
During all those years, I have organized a lot of trips for me, my friends and collaborates. My main concern is to adapt the travel to the specific circumstances: the available time and budget is the most critical but not the only one. I always take in to consideration the number of persons in the group, their relations (friends, family or people who don't know each other very well), their interests and even their mood at the time (if possible to know that).
I generally try to find a balance between having a full program and get exhausted and also between offering a bit of excitement and taking unnecessary risks. I always try, either when I am traveling or when I organize a trip for other people, to get to know some basics about the places I visit, to understand their particularity and to communicate with local people.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I feel very confident in organizing trips in places I have already been, which includes most Greek islands and most of Greek countryside.
I have a significant experience in road trips to the mainland, in trips to the islands and city tours to Athens and a few other cities."

How did you get involved in travel?

"My first trip in the Greek islands was so exciting that changed my views about holidays. Although traveling inside my country, no so far away from home, it was really exciting and adventurous. In the following years, I continue traveling in the islands, trying to be a better traveler. I start giving attention in finding the best spots, making realistic schedules, planning a good variety of activities and staying on budget.
A few years later, I started traveling in Europe, which was also very interesting and exciting. After a carefully planned road trip to Sweden and Norway which came out a great success, i understood that I was ready to move forward in traveling...
After all those years of organizing my travels and those of my friends, I got involved professionally in travel. About 6 years ago I was involved in organizing yoga retreats in Greece and recently I started to collaborate with selected travel agents offering high quality travel experiences."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"It is difficult to pick one, but I will choose the one in Sweden and Norway a few years ago.
It was a great trip first of all because I had good company and good mood, but also because we had sufficient time (about 2 weeks) and budget. So we planned carefully, to find the best traveling options, the best routes, the best places to stay in order to have a consistent and realistic. And finally to find the best spot in the places visited, restaurants, museums, bars, parks ant other interesting places.
We mixed up with locals in a few occasions and live some great experiences as the Scandinavian midsummer party in the countryside or the sauna ritual.
It was a very pleasant, interesting trip, we had a great time, we met people, we understood a lot about those countries and we got better as travelers.

Planning the trip was great! Christos gave us quite a few plans to pick from and tried to stay within our budget. We ended up picking a great package to Greece!

Our time in Athens was fantastic. We had an afternoon to check out the city. The following day, was our Mythology tour which included visits to the Temple of Zeus, the Acropolis, and the Agora. Our guide Marika was amazing! Very detailed tour and she stopped often to talk, so it was nice to give our legs a bit of a break. The only downfall was that although our breakfast was included at the hotel, we couldn't take advantage of it because our tour started early and then our ferry was leaving early the next day before we could have breakfast.

Then we went to Milos by ferry. We were in Milos on the weekend, so most places were closed. We were close to some shops and restaurants, but a little ways from Plaka. We ended up walking from our hotel to Plaka (an hour and a half walk, one way) which was a nice walk, but a lot of the shops were closed. Our hotel there was great though! Panos brought us breakfast in our room both mornings, a very nice spread of some traditional Greek foods as well as fresh orange juice and coffee. He also picked us up and dropped us off at the port and gave us tips on where to eat and how to get there.

Ferry to Santorini was pretty rough due to the enormous waves and high winds. Most of the passengers were sick on this ride, myself included. But we had reserved a shuttle from the port to our hotel, which was very close to the beach and many restaurants and shops. Not overcrowded. Our suite there was big, with a kitchenette and living room. Breakfast was also included which we got to enjoy only one morning since we were leaving early the second morning. We had a free morning on our first day in Santorini, so we enjoyed gift shopping and walking around. In the afternoon we had a Gems of Santorini and Wine Tour. This tour was fantastic! We got picked up just steps away from our hotel, and we were just a small group (only 6 of us). Our guide Sophia talked to us about the history of the island and brought us to the popular spots (Oia, Thira, the monastery, etc) and other places she believes get overlooked. Our driver would drop us off and we would walk around the towns to see some interesting buildings, and he would pick us up at a different spot (our guide wanted to make sure we didn't see the same thing twice). Our last stop was the winery. By this time I think we were all starving (since the tour started around 3 and lasted 5 hours) so I would recommend bringing a couple of snacks. Sophia gave us the scoop on the winery and how it all began. Then we enjoyed a wine tasting along with a charcuterie board. Perfect timing, as we then went up to watch the sunset and take lots of photos. It was a great way to end our trip. We were then dropped off again near our hotel.

I have already recommended Christos to my friends and family since we had such a wonderful experience planning our trip with him, and I will continue to rave about the hard work he put in to put together the perfect plan for us.

Thank you so much for Christos and the tour guides that made this trip so memorable!

Traveler: debbie L. - Local specialist: Christos Mylonas

All of our drivers and Guides were Fantastic! Everything we saw is so incredible, it's hard to mention just a few!
I especially appreciated the planned tours, leaving plenty of unscheduled time for us to do things on our own. We saw such a variety of Greece, from islands to olive groves, to tannery and winery. Not the average tourists destinations. Hotel selection was amazing. I would definitely use this company for future travel.

We had a three day tour of Greece and it was wonderful. Christos was great at putting everything together and making sure that we knew where we were going and when. He even called a couple of times during our trip to ensure that everything was going well. Our guides Theodorus (Epidaurus/Meteora) and Anastasia (Thessaloniki) were both very knowledgeable, spoke English well and enjoyable. I would definitely consider using kimkim and Christos again if we ever came back to Greece.

Thanks to kimkim and Travel12 for an exceptionally well planned and amazing vacation in Greece.
The attention to detail was most impressive.

I was a little nervous as I was traveling alone and had an ambitious schedule. Christos
ensured I was able to visit all the places I wanted to and got some time to relax and enjoy the islands. Taking my preferences into consideration.
The route was well planned and hotels selected were in close proximity to tourist attractions and pickup points for excursions. Transportation was coordinated with reliable, friendly and respectful business partners. They were punctual and professional. One of them drove around the port so I knew exactly which ferry I was to take as it was a little dark.
The excursions were also with reputable companies with expert and experienced tour guides which, in my opinion, makes a huge difference.
Kimkim's trip planning application made it easy to communicate, track conversations and always have access to information and resources. I never felt like I was traveling alone with prompt responses and help when I needed it the most.
The services provided by the Travel12 team truly reflect their values of honesty, respect and integrity.
Thanks so much Christos, Eric, Tasos and partners.
I highly recommend Kimkim and Travel12.
Talk to you next year Eric.

Christos, my local specialist couldnt have been more responsive and communicative. It seems that he works 24/7 as he got back to me so quickly all the time! And also, very importantly, I feel we got very good value from them. All of the guides were first rate, very knowledgeable, delightful, and went the extra mile. We really enjoyed the Vintage Tour of Crete,Cretan Village Tour and Cretan Food Tour. We spent two weeks in Crete, going to Heraklion, Chania and Elounda which was perfect. We're already thinking about a return visit we liked it so much!

Christos did a super job in helping me tweak the itinerary once we had a draft and I put a lot into the 10 days there.. He was also very helpful and available when I was in Greece and had questions about anything along the way. My trip to Greece was fantastic! I learned a lot about the different islands i went to in Greece and saw a huge variation and diversity of the culture and views and other aspects of each place. I'd highly recommend Greece to anyone and also to work with Christos/Kim Kim on any itinerary plans for Greece

My trip to Greece was both fulfilling and quite enjoyable. Christos was easy to talk to and very responsive to my needs. My driver, Lampros, was professional and friendly and made a good trip even better. I would gladly book with them again.

Thank you Eric, it was a pleasure to work for your trip. We were all impressed of how passionate you are and that you know so much about ancient Greece, much more than most Greeks do!
