Our guide in Tulum was truly amazing. He was artistic, knowledgeable, and spoke normal English. What impressed us most was how genuinely passionate he was about his country and its culture. For us, the hotel itself was almost a sightseeing experience — not just a place to stay, but a place to discover and enjoy. It was truly a pleasure to stay there.
A special mention absolutely has to go to our driver, Carlo (or Karlo), who was Italian and is married to a Maya woman.

He was an exceptional person and, in my opinion, has all the qualities to become a fantastic guide. His English was excellent, he knew an incredible amount about Yucatán, and, most importantly, he genuinely loved the region and its culture. He even speaks the Maya language and taught us some Maya expressions during the trip, which was a wonderful personal touch.

Uxmal was the absolute highlight of the tour for me. I loved it — the site itself was fascinating and truly impressive. Our guide there was also good and made the visit even more interesting.

The hotel in Mérida was d comfortable. However, it was a much more standard hotel and, for us, could not really be compared with the wonderful hotel in Valladolid, which was a memorable experience in itself.

The transportation throughout the tour was very good. Everything was well organized, the cars were comfortable, and we felt well taken care of during the journey.

My son and I had a wonderful trip to Mexico.  Kimkim's planning was exceptional.  Hugo helped us think through a great itinerary based on our interests and our goal to visit Chichén Itzá. He recommended some special experiences including weaving a hammock and making tortillas and chocolate at a Mayan village.  We had a nice mix of walking tours and swimming in the cenote. Once we arrived, Luz did a great job keeping track of us as we moved from town to town.  Her attention to detail was amazing and she always checked in with us every day.  Throughout the trip, we had amazing and very knowledgeable tour guides and drivers and everyone took great care of us.  They all spoke English and were very kind to let us practice our Spanish. A pink-ish day at Río Lagartos!

We had a wonderful time at Rio Lagartos. Henry met us at the boat pier and we had our own boat into the reserve. We saw flamingos in their natural habitat which was truly exceptional. We saw crocodiles, eagles and many other varieties of birds. It is a truly special place right next to the ocean and yet protected with a natural barrier. We also had an opportunity to swim there using the Mayan clay which was great. Overall, excellent visit! We also had a nice lunch at the local restaurant.

This was one of our favorite stops. We met with William who lives in the village with about 700 others and we had a delightful tour. We entered the homes of the local people there which we appreciated. Our first stop was making tortillas which was fun. Our second stop was trying to learn how to weave a hammock. It was such fun to learn that and our hosts were so kind. Our final stop was making chocolate which was also outstanding. Along the way we got to see how everyone lives, where the kids go to school etc. This is one of the hidden gems of this tour. The Mayans are beautiful and kind people and we were honored to be guests in their village.

We really enjoyed the cenote. The water temperature was perfect and seeing this as a natural formation was amazing! The cenote is very deep so we both swam with life jackets (highly recommend). They offered a zip line also. This was a very enjoyable experience in nature.

From start to finish we were extremely pleased with our customized trip to Mexico City. Hugo really listened and understoodw our needs, and we even initiated a call or two just to clarify the details. Most would categorize this as a family trip with two daughters in their twenties plus a very active Mom, Auntie, and Uncle in our sixties. We were quite happy with the strong emphasis on art, cuisine and culture so the initial Chef’s Table event was an extraordinary welcome.

Luz was our local coordinator and kept us on track the entire time. She was very responsive to any concerns, any special dietary needs, or potential issues. As such the logistics were smooth despite the notorious Mexico City traffic. We spent the most time with local guide Mony and we could *not* exhaust her vast knowledge of history, religion and especially archeology. My husband and I have traveled extensively and we would request Mony again. She is also incredibly thoughtful and accommodating — a great fit for a family trip.

One standout was the hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacan. Sailing over the tops of ancient pyramids on a beautiful morning was a hit with our entire group.

We split into two groups the final day and my husband and I enjoyed a contemporary art gallery tour with the Traveling Beetle. They did an excellent job and we purchased two pieces, not to mention enjoying the serendipity of exploring art during GAMA week.

In the end we appreciated the high quality and degree of customization — down to securing a floating boat in Xochimilco celebrating our university colors. And the Pug Seal Anatole boutique hotel in Polanco was also lovely and served the most amazing breakfasts, We had a room with an outdoor soaking tub, a wonderful break after our morning tours.

We’ve used KimKim in several countries and they do not disappoint. They’ve earned our highest recommendation.

We had a great time. The trip gave us a true flavor of the city, the neighborhoods, history and the food. Oh the food! Hugo put together a great itinerary including some things we would definitely not have considered if we had just planned it ourselves, like the Lucha Libre experience and the "tortilla crawl."

We had an absolutely fantastic experience working with Kimkim travel. I had never heard of this company, which made me rather hesitant. I was immediately put at ease by their direct communication and responsiveness from start to finish. Hugo Romero, our incredible travel agent, listened very carefully to our interests and responded quickly as our plans evolved. His accessibility via email and video call made the process tangible, reassuring and exciting. Ibis, our “travel companion”, was truly amazing. Before our trip we had a wonderful phone call to iron out details of the itinerary. She made it clear that she was available to us for any questions or concerns. She was in contact with us every day, making sure that each transition was seamless and that our every concern was addressed. Our drivers and guides were all very professional, knowledgeable and reliable.

Hugo created an amazing experience that allowed us to appreciate the stunning beauty and rich culture of the Yucatan Peninsula. The specific experiences were all beyond our expectations. Our amazing tour of Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve was filled with incredible wildlife encounters and was followed by a delicious meal in the home of our captain. His wonderful family welcomed us with such kindness that it felt like an all-to-short home stay. Our guide at Chichén Itza was a lovely elderly Mayan gentleman who shared his deep passion and knowledge. Our time in the Mayan community of Yaxunah was phenomenal. It was a privilege to be in this beautiful setting, learning of the history and traditions surrounding the preparation of delicious Cochinita Pib. Meters away was the Lol Ha cenote, where we were the only ones swimming in this peaceful, magical place.

Our trip coincided with an unfortunate moment of unrest following the death of a cartel leader. While we never felt any personal risk, we decided to end our trip early as there were shelter-in-place orders along the Mayan Riviera, which was to be our next destination. Ibis and Hugo were both reassuring of our safety and understanding of our decision. They supported us completely as we revised our travel plans. Due to their great effort and the generosity of the tour operators, we were reimbursed for all our missed activities. While we were saddened to miss out on the experiences, it was beyond reassuring to feel that this travel company was looking out for our best interests and responsive to our every need. I can say with great confidence that we look forward to working with them in the future as we are eager to return to Mexico.

I would like to give a Big Thank You to Luz, our local contact. It was like she was right behind us all the time making sure we had a memorable and safe experience. We was very reachable and responsive. A great problem solver and a pleasure to work with.

All the drivers were prompt and most were friendly. Our driver guide for the trip to the butterflies was Pablo and we spent a wonderful 11 hours with him. All the other local guides were very knowledgeable and some had interesting backgrounds.

Our trip was very well organized, with drivers and guides on time and completely knowledgeable. Our guides in Izamal, Chichen Itza and Meridad were outstanding! The drivers were excellent as well! The Hacienda Merida was a gem of a hotel, located in the heart of the Historic District. The rooms were very spacious and colonial style, with a delicious breakfast. El Meson del Marques in Valladolid was lacking. The location is excellent, but rooms are tiny, with no amenities at all! Not even a bathroom hook! Kind of disappointing, although their restaurant is outstanding! Much, much better than the two recommendations we got for Museo de la Gastronomica in Merida and El Atrio del Mayab in Valladolid. Our excursion to Rio Largartos was special, as was Ek Balam! A special shout-out to Luz Ma, who helped me greatly all during the trip, with questions and concerns I had. She went out of her way to be in touch with me immediately and make everything right. I would definitely recommend Kimkim for anyone looking to go to Mexico. Thank you for all of your help in making my trip so special.

This hotel gets three stars because of its location. The hotel is nice looking, with lots of trees and plants all around, but the rooms are sorely lacking in everything! Uncomfortable beds and pillows, no hooks in the bathroom, tiny rooms, etc. I requested and paid for a "balcony" room, and got a "Juliet" balcony room. No room for a chair to sit! Was disappointed. The restaurant is outstanding and wished I had eaten there for dinner, instead of the recommendation we got.

Mayan ruin in the jungle! Again, try to get here as early as possible, as it gets very hot in there! Climbed and walked around and then to the cenote and lunch, which is on the same premises. Lunch was EXCELLENT and the cenote is huge and beautiful!

What can you say about this?! Outstanding! Be there at 8am when the gates open. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to really see the place, which is bigger than you think. All kinds of vendors waiting to get in at 8am as well. Lots of bathroom facilities around too. EXCELLENT guide here! We really had a great time here. The total Mayan experience.
