Katherine Caicedo

I was born and raised in Colombia. I am passionate about learning from our different cultures and promoting my country. I grew up to see this magical place change and I am eager to share this new and amazing Colombia with the world.

I believe that, through tourism, we can show what our country really has to offer: a great variety of landscapes and the world’s happiest and warmest people. I can help you design a journey that will capture your heart and senses.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Small traditional villages where you can really discover the Colombian culture. Natural Parks where you can admire the great biodiversity of this country. Encounters with ancient local communities. "

How did you get involved in travel?

"I love to discover new places and having new experiences. It is amazing how inside a single country you can find such diversity in climates, landscapes, and even cultures. I started working in promotion and tourism because I felt like I need to share all of this with the world."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Reaching the snowy pick at the Cocuy National Park, and being able to admire this majestic landscape was for me once again a proof that Colombia has an amazing variety of experiences and places to show."

Medellín by night.
Where to Dine in Medellín

Colombia's second-largest city, Medellín is young, dynamic, and on the up. It’s a place where people like to go out, enjoy life, and eat well. During the day, you’ll find plenty of cheap diners where you can fill up on hearty local staples, with lots of stalls on the street selling fresh fruit and juices. But come the evening, you’ll probably want to check out the increasing variety of excellent modern restaurants serving local, international and fusion cuisine.

Bogotá, Cocora Valley, Medellín, and Cartagena - 9 days

On this 9-day tour, you'll get to explore the historical and cultural side of Bogotá before heading to the wax palm forests of the Cocora Valley. After spending some time on a local coffee plantation, head over to the beautiful city of Medellín, the home town of the famous Colombian artist, Fernando Botero. Finally, head north to the Pearl of the Caribbean, the colorful town of Cartagena.

Recent trip reviews for Katherine

Columbia city and country · Colombia - Jan 13 - Jan 27, 2017

Traveler: Michael P. - Local specialist: Katherine Caicedo

The Cambio hacienda restaurant staff was mostly not interested in service, the dinners and coffee was substandard and the room was in poor condition.

Katherine was very patient with us in the planning stage and equally attentive throughout the trip.

Cartagena, Tayrona, Purace National Park · Colombia - Dec 21 - Jan 4, 2017

Traveler: Laura G. - Local specialist: Katherine Caicedo

Katherine worked very hard on our behalf, especially given the short time frame in which we were planning. She also was great while we were in country and got sick and had to revise parts of our trip. She was always available to help re-adjust. There were two of the lodging options that were disappointing. Cartagena, Tayrona and Silvia were the highlights of the trip for me.
