She prefers slow travel- spending time in a city or region, meeting locals, tasting the cuisine, and understanding a place instead of visiting lots of destinations in a short amount of time. She prefers trains and buses to airplanes and exploring off-the-beaten track places. When she's not on the road, she loves cooking, gardening and browsing book shops. How did you get involved in travel?
"I studied abroad in London for a semester, my second year at university and I caught the travel bug. After London, I was inspired to backpack in Alaska for a month solo and later in Africa- from Tanzania to South Africa by public transport with a 60-liter pack, guidebook and one night accomodation.
I've been traveling in various capacities and living abroad for many years-finally I found a way to combine my love of travel with work. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Traveling solo with a one-way ticket, a 60-liter backpack and local transport in Eastern Africa to Southern Africa. I thought I might be gone for 3 months or 3 years, 9 months later I returned home. "
