Mariano Galindo

I was born in Argentina, and my childhood dream was to travel the world and I have been doing so from a young age, traveling all five continents in search of adventure, new cultures and diving sites (my main passion). I have studied tourism, yoga teacher and also dive instructor. I have lived in Spain and Thailand for a few years before returning to Argentina with the purpose of making Argentina known to travelers worldwide.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I'm a specialist in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Bolivia. I organize adventure trips, but also classic tours and luxury trips including exploration Cruises in Antartica and Chilean Fjords. I organize hiking trips, and adventure activities such kayaking, biking."

How did you get involved in travel?

"When I was 19 years old, I took a sabbatical and move to Mallorca in Spain, where I worked for a few months in order to save some money to do a three-month driving trip through Europe. Since then, I never stopped traveling."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"At the age of 28, I traveled for one year through India and Southasia with two of my brothers and my best friend. It was an amazing experience, where we had the chance to travel through India for two months, staying with locals and know their culture and amazing landscapes. We had the chance to do a lot of hiking, kayaking, biking and the best Diving ever! This was a unique experience I will never forget!"

We spent an amazing 4 weeks in Chile. Mariano helped us organize the trip from beginning to end and absolutely everything went according to plan. The local guides were knowledgeable and professional. Roberto went out of his way to help us with a minor health issue and still managed to show us the best of Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. Mario shared his love for Chile, and especially the Atacama and all its diversity, and Anna from Akorn was there 24/7 if we had any questions. Chiloe and... Read more

Thank you!

We have just returned from a spectacular four week journey to Chile. Thanks in no small part to all the stellar folks at Kimkim and their wonderful contractors, our diverse wanderings went off without a hitch. Mariano, our Kimkim specialist was there for us at the start. We were a group of four people with diverse interests and pretty much zero prior knowledge of the country. We threw our various desires into a pot and Mariano sorted us out with a trip which took us from the high plains of the Atacama desert to the rugged coastline of Chiloe, from the bustling city of Santiago to the bohemian hills of Valparaiso. We had amazing local guides set up by Acorn where Ana was our 24/7 "go to" for requests, wrinkles and suggestions. From finding dentist to dealing with a missed flight, Ana was always there for us - cheerful and helpful!

We would definitely use Kimkim again any time!

We were impressed by our guides along the way. In Santiago, Maria showed us the sights. She was very knowledgeable. Vivian picked us up at the airport and dropped us off for the flight home. She was lovely, stayed in contact on Whatsapp and was very helpful.
In St Pedro, the tours were interesting, guides Elaine and Sina were very good. Really enjoyed the Moon and Mars valley with Sina very much. She was a fountain of information. The wine and cheese at sunset was a nice surprise.

All went well in Puerto Varas and Chiloé. The car rental experience was excellent and it was nice to drive around and make our own plans. Parque Quilquico Hotel was outstanding. Lovely scenery, peaceful surroundings, great staff and fabulous food.
In Patagonia, we were met by the Los Torres driver, Hernan, who had lots of sights to point out and was very interesting. The Cerro Negro stop was nice. The Las Torres hotel was great. Glad we did the all inclusive. Room was comfortable, staff very helpful and the food was excellent. Even the box lunch was well done. The excursions were very interesting. Our guide, Steve, on the Full Paine was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. The horseback ride toLake Norgenskjol was fun, lovely horses and guides there too. All in all an unforgettable vacation!
