Sawasdee Ka! I'm Sandi, a Travel Consultant with nearly nine years of experience in the tourism industry. Originally from Myanmar, I began my career there and now call Thailand my second home. What I love most about Thailand is its delicious food and warm, welcoming people. I specialize in crafting tailor-made travel experiences that inspire and delight. With my passion for travel and deep industry knowledge, I’m dedicated to creating unforgettable memories and delivering exceptional customer service. Let’s make your dream getaway a reality!

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I create customized tours that match what clients want, using my knowledge to suggest the best spots. For example, I recommend places perfect for nature lovers, quiet areas to avoid crowds, relaxing beach days, or must-visit spots for families. In Thailand, nature and culture fans will love the Northern areas like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai, and Mae Hong Son. For beach and island lovers, Thailand has many options. My favorites are the East Coast islands like Koh Samet, Koh Chang, Koh Mak, and Koh Kood, or the less crowded Koh Lipe in the Andaman Sea. Koh Lipe is close to Langkawi, making it great for a combined trip with Malaysia. "

How did you get involved in travel?

"My passion for travel started young, sparked by a fascination with languages and a dream to become a tour guide. I loved the idea of exploring new places and connecting with people from all over the world. To turn this passion into reality, I chose to study at the University of Foreign Languages after passing my matriculation exam. There, I specialized in German, honing my skills to communicate across cultures.
In my third year of university, I took a tour guide exam to become a licensed tour guide after graduation. However, due to family challenges, I couldn’t pursue it. Instead, after graduating in 2016, I started working as a Travel Consultant. It was a great choice because I could combine my love for travel, meeting new people and learning different culture into a rewarding job. Through this career, I gained experience not only as a Travel Consultant but also as a tour leader and guide. Looking back, it was the best decision I ever made.
"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"After living in Thailand for six months, I took a spontaneous vacation to Cha-Am, a beach town in Phetchaburi popular with locals. The trip wasn’t planned. On the morning of a three-day holiday weekend, around 8:30 AM, I decided to travel. I went to Ekkamai bus station, bought a ticket to Cha-Am, and caught a 10 AM bus. The ride took about four hours due to heavy holiday traffic, though it usually takes two and a half hours. In Cha-Am, I saw many local families enjoying day trips and relaxing by the beach. The seafood was affordable and delicious.
For my return to Bangkok, I chose a 3rd-class train for a local experience. The early morning train, starting from Yala in southern Thailand, was packed with locals who greeted me with warm smiles, even though I was the only one not speaking Thai. Food vendors on the train sold local treats like mango and sticky rice, which I tried and loved. The train arrived in Bangkok around 11 AM. My first train ride in Thailand was so much fun, and meeting local people while trying their food was a wonderful way to learn about the country’s true culture.

We had a wonderful trip, and loved every minute. Thank you KimKim Team and especially Sandi for making our trip truly exciting and memorable. Everything worked smoothly, without one worry or issue. Planning with Sandi was really fun. She was extremely patient with my questions and changes. She listened to our concerns and planned accordingly. She was communicative throughout the planning and also while we were in Thailand. I couldn't have asked for a better trip planner. I would recommend Sandi highly to anyone!

We had fantastic tour guides. It was not possible to get one tour guide for all days in each location, so we had a different guide each day. And that proved to be fantastic! Each guide was different, and each offered terrific insights and details about everything we were seeing and experiencing. Special side trips and tastes in the markets were included!

Our guides in Bangkok, Leena and, sadly, please forgive me, I am forgetting the name of the lovely and fun guide we had on the second day, were amazing. Loved the Temples, the Palace, the Jim Thompson Museum, and on day two, the Railway Market and the Floating market were great, the guide full of personal and descriptive details, and the trip to the coconut farm much fun. We loved our visit to Chinatown and lunch with our guide in a very local and delicious restaurant.

Then in Chiang Mai, we had the guides Q and Faan, both of whom were amazing. SO much fun! Loved the first day Tuk Tuk tour of the Temples and the markets. Q showed us a very local food market in the morning, and told us a lot about the habits of the people, which was so memorable. The Khaos Soi lunch, the mango and sticky rice delicious, and being blessed by a Buddhist Monk was unforgettable. The next day trip to Lamphun with Faan was also fantastic. Blessed again by another Monk and saw exquisite temples. Very worth the day trip out of the city. Rich with history and beauty.

Finally, the trip to the ethical elephant preserve was a highlight. The guide we had there was so much fun and we learned so much, and enjoyed every minute. Wow, what an experience.

I can't say enough about the tour. From the planning with Sandi, to the logistics--communications from the local coordinator each day before to confirm the details of the next day, perfect pickups and no waiting-- to the really intelligent and interesting guides. I will recommend KimKim to anyone, and plan to use them for our next trip, wherever that may be!

Hi Leslie,
Thank you so much for your wonderful, heartfelt feedback and the beautiful photos!

We're truly happy you had such an amazing time in Thailand. It's so special to hear how much joy the guides and those little local touches brought like the vibrant markets, Chinatown, Khao Soi, and all the other highlights.

Thank you for the kind words about me and Kimkim. It means a lot. I hope we can plan your next adventure together soon!

Warmest regards,

Tina planed the trip and was very much attuned to our requests and needs. I planed the rout and Tina followed up with hotel suggestions, day trip attractions and transportation from and to the events. EVERYTHING went by very smoothly and we had no complains at all the opposite - we only have positive and thankful comment. Until we got to Bangkok and were placed in a low quality hotel (more like a hostel) and I was very surprised. It was hard to understand how the same team that booked us in beautiful, luxury hotels throughout the two weeks prior, also booked the run-down HOSTEL in Bangkok. As the season is the busiest it was very hard to find a suitable accomodation replacement and we stayed at this hotel but I feel it has affected my experience in Bangkok. this is the second time I use KIM KIM for my travels, first time was to Australia, BUT - I strongly suggest that if accommodations are important to you, check the suggested itinerary and make sure to read reviews on other websites. other than the hotel in Bangkok ALL of our accommodations were amazing ! After the planing ends, we were assigned a lock agent. Sandi connected with us directly Via WhatApp. Having a local agent that can be reached 24/7 while we were on vacation is an UNBELIEVABLE comfort figure. Sandi welcomed us, checked on us, offered to help us when our luggage didn't arrive on time, but most of all was able to make some changes and last minute tweaking for travel arrangement and day trip cancellation. It gave us a really stress free experience knowing that there is someone we can connect at any time. Over all it was an amazing experience and I will 100% recommend the service offered by KimKim

Ping Nakara Boutique Hotel
Chiang Mai

What a BEAUTIFUL Charming and relaxed hotel . We were treated at the airport by the hotel rep. He drove us to the hotel and pointed some interesting places along the way. The hotel is NOT in the old town it is in a very close proximity to the night weekly night market which is a plus for after you finish the night. The hotel stuff were UNBELIEVABLE, friendly, eager to help, to make you feel at home (that includes the servers at the breakfast ), they helped us coordinating the arrival of our delayed luggage this hotel is not for backpacking crowd , the demographic is a bit older - which for us was super. Grab is available in Chiang Mai do moving around was cheap and easy. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

Authenticity & Character
looks like a British colonial home, evnnhough the Brits never colonials this area....
Location
not IN the old city but in a more up scale area, very close to the night market.
Staff
Friendly, eager to help in any way possible.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Spotless place.
Khaosok Boutique Hideaway

I am a bit ambivalent about this place. A - I wish it was located IN the Khaosok little village and not few kilometres away - the resort is isolated so if you want to grab dinner in the little village they charge 400 BTH for a round trip. B - the actual Tents are massive, clean, fully equipped with AC unit, warm water, and a VERY comfortable bed. The place is very clean and comfortable. C - breakfast was good

Authenticity & Character
The tents are cool, clean, the views are wonderful as the resort hustled under huge cliffs
Location

Khao Lak Marriott Beach Resort & Spa

if you are looking for a resort to eat well and not to move for few days, it is a very nice option. we were there 5 days on a breakfast only plane and we tried to travel around. not much to see and do in Khao Lak, we did the trip to Samillian island and the mangrove paddling experience and just chilled on the other nights . everything on the resort is expansive but there are few local options around. Nice, American style resort. Please note - it is more on the quite style - not to much activity and music. I loved it, but some people going on resort for a week may find it boring. Food at breakfast buffet was OUTSTANDING

Authenticity & Character
very American style. I couldn't see any Thai influence
Location
very isolated. it takes 30 minutes to get to the "city". the hotel provides shuttle couple a times a day.

Hi Yael,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your recent trip. I'm truly touched by your kind words! It means a lot to me to hear that the on-ground support via WhatsApp made your experience stress-free.

I'm also delighted that Tina did such a wonderful job planning the itinerary to match your requests perfectly, and that you loved the hotels and arrangements throughout most of the trip. Your positive comments about the overall service and your willingness to recommend KimKim 100% warm my heart. Thank you!

That said, I'm genuinely sorry to hear about the disappointment with the hotel in Bangkok. It must have been frustrating after such amazing stays elsewhere, especially during the busy season when options were limited. I completely understand how that affected your time in the city, and I regret that it fell short of the high standard we aim for across the entire journey. Your feedback here is incredibly valuable, and I'll make sure to pass it along to the team so we can review that selection closely and prevent similar issues in the future.

If there's anything more I can do whether it's helping with future travels or even suggestions for your next adventure please don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to welcome you back to Thailand or anywhere else!

Wishing you many more wonderful trips ahead.
Warmest regards,
Sandi

We're so happy to hear Leena made your trip extra special with her knowledge and passion for Thai culture and history. That’s exactly what we love about our guides! It’s also great to know about the specialist and we’re really glad you felt taken care of.
