Vincenzo Granato

Originally from Milan, I take care of preparing customised itineraries for our travellers, focusing on authentic and local experiences in Italy. The way I make travellers discover Italy is by organising tailor-made trips, listening to their preferences and desires and combining them with our featured destinations and experiences by mixing off-the-beaten paths with some highlights that cannot be missed out. My approach toward travel really depends on the person I am talking with and the personality that characterises him/her. Travelling is a really personal way of expressing himself/herself and this should be taken into account when we formulate an itinerary. What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I specialise in many Italian places, such as Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Naples, Milan, Venice and Sicily and Cinque Terre. The activities I propose are all customised and involve outdoor and indoor experiences like cooking classes, wine tasting at local wineries, guided tours with local guides, boat tours with native sailors and much more. We developed a strong network of partners around Italy that deliver high-quality experiences in special environments, totally linked with the local culture and tradition of the city or region they are working in. "

How did you get involved in travel?

"Since I was a child, I showcase my curiosity for everything surrounding me, asking always many questions about what happened around me. It is the attraction toward multicultural thinking and diversity that led me to start organising events for international people during my university days where I develop new friendships with people coming from many countries in the World. It is my passion for connecting with people that pushed me to travel and live in five different countries in the last five years moving from Dublin, Sidney, Valencia, Kolding, Girona and then Milan, the city where I was born and where I recently came back. It is living abroad that made me understand the real beauty of my country, Italy and how much I wanted to share its values and wonderful authenticity with foreigners in a special and tailor-made way. "

"I will never forget my 2 years of experience abroad for my European Master in Tourism Management where I had the opportunity to travel and live in 3 different countries conducting projects with 25 people of many different nationalities.

I will also never forget the sunset I saw in Manly Beach, Australia, a place that fulfilled me with the strongest connection with nature.

Our 12 day trip planned by kimkim was amazing.!Our first stop was Venice where Marina our guide did an exceptional overview of explaining the history and uniqueness of Venice. Our driver picked us up promptly at the station and provided us with a lovely overview of the area. We arrived in Castle di Fonterutoli. It was the perfect Tuscany retreat. The serene and beautiful countryside was everything we hoped it to be. Vincenzo set up a luncheon and wine tour which was delicious and informational. We had great food and the wine tasting was fabulous! While in Tuscany , we rented a car and travelled to quaint little towns and Sienna . Next stop, Pompeii. We took a train from Florence and our driver picked us up in Naples. He was great!! He waited for us while we toured Pompeii with Paola Vitiello. She was so informative; we learned so much about Pompeii. Our driver then took us the long way along the Almafi Coast to get to our next stop which was Almafi. It was breathtaking. He stopped whenever we wanted to take pictures. We arrived in Almafi and enjoyed a day cruise to Capri which was a blast! We explored Anacapri and took the chair lift to the top. Amazing views! We also hiked The Valle delle Ferriere . We took a bus to Scalia and hiked down; wear really good shoes and be sure you are in good shape because it is a long trek. Our last stop was Rome. Great food, tours, activities and lots of people. We had a Trastevere Food Tour with Vittoria. She was such a pleasure to be with. We tried lots of food and had a beautiful dinner at her establishment. The Colosseum and Roma Tour were really enjoyable. Our last night, we enjoyed a premium wine tasting and dinner experience . It was the perfect way to end our trip. The hotels Vincenzo suggested were perfect. All in all, the trip was something we will never forget. We will certainly use kimkim for our future trips.

A little hard to find, but a centrally located, lovely hotel. It was exceptionally clean. They had a great breakfast and the staff was very accommodating.

The perfect escape into the Tuscany countryside. Simple, clean , serene accommodations. The breakfast was great! It's a bit secluded so yo will need a car or use the taxi service to get around.

Overall we had a wonderful experience planning and experiencing Rome. Our local specialist, Vincenzo was extremely responsive and patient. We made many adjustments throughout the planning process and he took it all in stride and adjusted as necessary. Overall we had a wonderful experience planning and experiencing Rome. Our local specialist, Vincenzo was extremely responsive and patient. We made many adjustments throughout the planning process and he took it all in stride and adjusted as necessary. He was extremely responsive while we were in Italy and was truly on call throughout to handle any things that came up.

Specifically, a highlight was an Italian cooking class in Rome that he recommended. Also, a lovely wine-tasting dinner where we met several other travelers from the U.S. Our group tour of the Colosseum and Forum was terrific as was our private tour of Naples and Pompeii. The hotels that were recommended were very high quality (particularly in Amalfi) with good service and we also very much enjoyed the restaurants that were suggested. All of our transfers were on time and enjoyable.

We did unfortunately have one private tour guide on two days that we did not care for much and there was a little bit of confusion regarding our time in the Jewish district and at the Vatican. Overall, however, we enjoyed working with Vincenzo and his company.

Wonderful trip, Vincenzo did a phenomenal job organizing and making sure that we were comfortable and got to explore what we wanted to. The only issue we came across was trying to drive in Palermo. We didn't expect it to be as stressful as it was but we could have prepared better or looked into other options. As I had advised, driving in Sicily can be complicated, especially in Palermo and this is the reason why we usually suggest travelers take our comfortable private transfers that release you from any stress. However, everything went well, and I can assure you that if you were able to drive in Palermo you would be a pilot anywhere else in the World.
