Wailana Kalama
I'm from Hawaii and I’ve been traveling from the ripe old age of 2, which basically spoiled me for the 9-to-5 thing. My journeys have brought me to 38 countries, and I've lived in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Morocco, South Korea, Oregon, Iceland and now Sweden. I moved to Stockholm in the Summer of 2016. When I’m not freelancing, I’m navigating my way through this large and interesting city.
How did you get involved in travel?
"My first official work in travel involved writing a few articles for Matador Network. I was fresh out of college and so thrilled. But my real delve into the industry was working as a travel agent, where I learned loads about the ins and outs of the travel industry--details about which most travelers overlook."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Overnight on a train through the Uzbekistani desert was a hazy mix of delight and profound sleeplessness"
