Planning Your Visit to Colombia's Amazon Region
Lush, steamy and unmistakably tropical, Colombia’s Amazon region seems very remote, even from the rest of the country. The main town, Leticia, is an easy-going, friendly little place, located right on the border with Brazil and Peru. But the main reason to visit is the Amazon River and the vast rainforest that surrounds it – full of strange and exotic plants and animals, from lazy sloths to electric eels – a massively important environment that provides a lung for the whole planet.
The Lost City Trek - 7 Days
Ciudad Perdida (or the "Lost City") is located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a mountain range close to the Caribbean sea. Here, you’ll discover the past life of local indigenous people with their wooden houses and stone structures, including terraces and stairways.
Colombia's Wild Pacific Coast - 10 Days
South America's undiscovered region of El Chocó on the Pacific Ocean takes center stage in this unique 10-day itinerary. You'll begin (and end) the trip in Colombia's dazzling up-and-coming city of Medellín before flying to Bahía Solano where you'll explore the massive Utría National Park. Then fly to Nuquí for three days of canoe rides, hiking, cooking with locals, and soaking in hot springs, all the while looking for humpback whales, dolphins, and sea turtles close to shore.
Rio Verde Adventure - 4 Days

You'll experience Medellín like few others, traveling outside the city for an overnight rafting expedition on the Río Verde. This vivid emerald waterway cuts through untouched Colombian rainforest and carves its way through jungle canyons, featuring miles and miles of nail-biting whitewater and class IV rapids. After your rafting adventure, return the city and enjoy a gourmet dinner and smart cocktail in one of the city's upscale restaurants and cocktail lounges.
Colombia's Amazon Rainforest & Canyon Tour - 8 Days
This eight-day adventure starts with two nights in Bogotá, Colombia's capital city. After a stop in Villavicencio, you'll be whisked away by charter plane deep into the Amazon rainforest. You'll hike and boat around two dramatic canyons, enjoy plenty of wildlife viewing, and interact with native tribes. Return to Villavicencio and spend your last night enjoying a performance by local dancing cowboys.

Wendy was simply FABULOUS! She helped me prepare a trip to Colombia to my parents as a gift and was thoughtful in every aspect of the trip. She has a great knowledge of her country and activities that can be done, which means she has excellent suggestions on what to do. Besides, she truly understood the challenge and prepared a tailored itinerary, even considering that my parents speak Portuguese! Our driver Julio and our guide Gustavo were very knowledgeable and very friendly.
Our one day tour of Barranquilla was also very enjoyable, our guide Álvaro gave us a very good overview of the city and all the places of interest.
Our only bad experience was at isla del Rosario where the first of our two day stay there was no running water, not to take a bath or use the toilet, also I had a rash on my torso that looked like bedbugs bites. Other... Read more
