Korcula/Sarajevo Explorer is a small company, run by the British couple Rachael & John (us!).
We moved to Korcula in the summer of 2010 after visiting and falling in love with the island during a three night stop as part of a backpacking trip around Europe several years ago. We decided Korcula Island was the perfect place to live and work in a field we could truly be passionate about.
Korcula Explorer has evolved over the years addressing the needs of travelers to the island. Today we specialize in wine tasting & food tasting tours as well as working with local people to offer a diverse range of activities. We also provide assistance arranging holiday accommodation in private apartments, rooms and houses, and transfers.
In 2017 we visited Sarajevo for the first time. Summer's are fantastic on Korcula, but we've been looking for a winter venture for a few years. Still relatively unknown, Sarajevo provides incredible conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Combined with our desire to show of this amazing city, we set up Sarajevo Explorer (www.sarajevoexplorer.com) which provides skiing & snowboarding holidays as well as winter breaks. Again working with local people to offer visitors a fantastic experience, we can arrange accommodation, ski passes, equipment rental as well an interesting range of tours in and around the city.
Using our own experiences, local knowledge and the accounts of other visitors to Korcula Island and also to Sarajevo, we are here to help you plan an unforgettable summer or winter holiday.

Korcula is known for its white wine. Grk wine is a white wine grape variety found in the village of Lumbarda. To take in the Korcula scenery and drink some wine at the same time, join John (who moved to Korcula with his wife Rachael 6 years ago from the UK) on a 4-5 hour tour cycling through Lumbarda. Taste the different wines while getting the local intimate experience which you will not find anywhere else.

Wine Tasting and Cycling Day Tour in Korcula · Croatia - Jun 29 - Jun 29, 2019
An enjoyable experience despite the heat. We cycled through some lovely countryside and John made sure that the pace suited everyone. He also coped magnificently with two punctures en route. The wine tastings lived up to expectations.
Wine Tasting and Cycling Day Tour in Korcula · Croatia - Aug 21 - Aug 24, 2018
My wife and I joined two tours in Korcula, Croatia with Rachael and John. One a guided walk through an old town called Znovo followed by an amazing dinner with Frank and his family. The second was a cycling and wine tasting tour which involved cycling from Korcula through the
Lumbarda countryside and stopping at two venues for wine tasting and snacks.
Both were well organised and most enjoyable. Sue and I can highly recommend both tours.

Michelle was an absolute dream to work with, I tend to be very indecisive and she really helped me and my husband plan a wonderful trip. She gave great recommendations of places to eat, things not to miss and was even able to schedule a wine and cycling tour for us when it wasn't originally available. A few minor things could have been different but really did not impact our trip at all.
Our cycling tour with John was one of our favorite parts of the trip, he was an absolute joy to spend... read more
