What you'll do

Your day begins with an introduction to the sanctuary and its resident African elephant herd, along with an overview of the principles that guide their care, management, and well-being.

As the morning unfolds, you'll observe the elephants during their exercise routines, watching how they stretch, move, and respond to their handlers. You'll then take part in behind-the-scenes tasks, including cleaning and preparing feed, gaining firsthand insight into the daily commitment required to care for these remarkable animals. Throughout the experience, your guides will help you recognize individual elephants, pointing out distinguishing features and sharing stories that bring each herd member's personality to life.

One of the morning's most memorable moments is the "trunk-in-hand" experience, where you'll have the chance to connect with an elephant in a calm, respectful setting.
