I am originally from Austria, but fell in love with Iceland on my first visit over here 27 years ago. After turning back for several holidays over the period of 14 years I decided to move here. Since august 2008 I have been living and working permanently on this stunning island and call it home by now. It has been my pleasure to work as a guide for the last 11 years. For me travelling is a way to widen your horizon and create wealth in your heart and soul.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I have a good overview of my island as I have travelled a lot on it. Going slow, taking your time and enjoy the small things on your way would be something I see myself specialized in. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"After my first visit to Iceland I had that dream to show this unique destination to other travelers. Therefore I became a guide in Iceland. Tourism and travel have always fascinated me and after having been on the road myself, I would really love to assist others to get their rememberable trip to Iceland. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"It is difficult to pick one single experience, but thinking about it here in Iceland it has been my trip to the volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula last march. Standing so close to an ongoing eruption is something I will definitely never forget.
But I would also want to mention a wedding I visited on my travels to Cuba. A friend of mine got married there to a Cuban man on a beach. So we were Icelanders and Cubans all together having a big feast. This will stay in my mind as a real unique travel experience. "
