We had an absolutely fabulous experience! I’ll admit, I was a little nervous going into the trip because I had never used this company before, and when you’re traveling to another country and relying on someone else to coordinate so many details, you’re putting a lot of trust in them. Those nerves disappeared very quickly. Everything was so thoroughly planned, and every detail was executed perfectly. From start to finish, we truly didn’t have to worry about a thing.

One of the things I appreciated most was how seamless all of our transportation and meeting arrangements were. We never had to wonder where we were supposed to go or who was picking us up. Most of the time, our driver or guide was waiting at the meeting location with a sign with my name on it, which made everything incredibly easy. Everyone was on time and exactly where they said they would be.

Each excursion that was planned for us was something we genuinely enjoyed. The only exception was the Venetian rowing lesson—we would have preferred to simply enjoy a ride rather than row ourselves—but that was such a small part of an otherwise incredible itinerary.

There was only one instance when I couldn’t locate our pickup person, and as soon as I reached out, the response was immediate. We found each other right away, which gave me even more confidence knowing that if something did come up, help was readily available.

My only reason for giving our local specialist a slightly lower rating was because when I first started planning the trip, I had an amazing specialist who was incredibly attentive and helpful. She apparently left, and I was reassigned to someone else. While everything still came together beautifully, my new specialist wasn’t quite as attentive and sometimes came across a little short in her communication. That may simply have been a cultural or communication-style difference, but there was a noticeable difference from the experience I had with my original specialist.

Overall, I truly could not be happier with our trip. The entire experience was incredibly smooth, well organized, and allowed us to simply enjoy ourselves without worrying about the details. Any hesitation I had about using a company I had never worked with before was completely gone by the end of the trip. It was an amazing experience, and I would do it again a thousand times over!

This was my first experience with KimKim and we would definitely use them for our next trip as well as refer them to our friends. Chiara did a great job of getting to know us and what our interests are; she created a plan that catered to our needs and interests. She is based in Italy which was a bonus! We spent 4 days in Rome and 4 days in Tuscany. During our trip, we had give different tour guides. Lea, who gave us a tour through Vatican City, was great. Her knowledge and excitement of art history really shined through during the tour. Francesca helped up eat our way through Rome. We learned so much about the not only the food but the history of city. Our tour of the Colosseum was terrific! Our only mistake was to tackle Vatican City and the Colosseum in one day. Do these on two separate days! In Florence, Stefan gave us a great walking tour of the city that ended with seeing the statue of David. We now have a much greater appreciation for the architecture and history of the city. The last day trip was a small group tour of three wineries. Chiristine and her colleagues were fun and informative. This was such a fun day; we not only had great wine and food, we met fun travelers from all over! KimKim arranged for the purchase of tour tickets, train tickets, hotel stays, and private transportation. We completely underestimated how many tourists are in each city so having all of these things prearranged for us was very much appreciated. In addition to all of the arrangements, Chiara provided us with a list of great restaurants to try in each city. Lastly, KimKim sends you reminders each day of what to expect the following day that included links to tickets and locations to meet our guides. They were also very quick to respond during the trip with any clarification questions. All around, this was a great experience!

This was our first time using kimkim and Chiara was nothing less than an exceptional guide. Given this was our first trip to Italy, we wanted explore as many of the country’s key sites as possible. In nine glorious days, we managed to visit Venice, Florence, Tuscany hillside, Amalfi Coast and Rome. We never really felt rushed and every day our drivers and tour guides were prompt and extremely knowledgeable. Venice was fantastic to walk and see most of the island. Our guide graciously added a trip to Murano and a guided tour by a representative of the original glass maker. I highly recommend San Gimingnano and the wine and food tasting at Tenuta Torciano Winery. Our wine order was shipped promptly and delivered to us the day after we returned. For summer wine drinkers, highly recommend the locally produced Vernaccia! Focus your Amalfi Coast tour to Sorrento, Ravello and Positano. Rome was better than our initial expectations - cleaner and very walkable. Our tour of the colosseum with Goia was very hands on and a spectacular engineering achievement for the times. Cannot wait to get back to Italy again. I wanted to use more of my broken Italian but found everyone spoke English quite well!
