I'm the "southern man" of the team at Objectif France. I was born in Perpignan, at the south border of France with Spain, and I've spent the first 30 years of my life in the South, before “coming up” to Lyon, where I've worked for a tour operator for 10 years. That allowed me to travel in more than 30 countries around the world…before I finally realized that my own country was undoubtedly the most beautiful destination to live in and to visit !
Exclusive authentic experiences, unexpected encounters and charming accommodation spots are the main components of a successful trip for me. The most memorable part of a trip comes often from what is not written or planned! I will help you to design the voyage of your dreams, that rides that subtle balance between rigorous organization and real moments of poetry.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"As I've got two kids, I know pretty well how to organize a family trip, chosing an appropriate ryhtm and activities. I also love to design really tailor-made trips for honeymooners, and put some romantic suprises for them during the tour. Regarding the geographical expertise, I know Provence and the South of France pretty well, as well as Loire Valley, Normandy...and Lyon of course, where we are working.
In Europe, I know Spain, Scotland and Iceland very well. "

How did you get involved in travel?

"I did my Civil Service in a NGO in Senegal just after my studies. After 2 years of working and living in Tambacounda, at the East of that country, I've travelled as a backpacker with a friend of mine for 5 months in West Africa : Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast...A wonderful first experience of long time travel...After coming back home, it took me a few years before I could find a job in travel industry, but then I never came back to another sector ! "

"It's undoubtedly my first encounter with a mountain gorilla in the Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda. When your eyes meet those of these gentle heroes of the bamboo forets on the slopes of the mountains, you feel like you meet one of your ancestors or cousin. It's indescriptible ! I'm really fascinated by apes, and mountain gorillas are among the most incredible creatures in the world. "

Joel did an excellent job of arranging our trip. He helped us identify what we wanted to see and then provided the experiences in an organized and meaningful way. Joel did an excellent job of arranging our trip. He helped us identify what we wanted to see and then provided the experiences in an organized and meaningful way. These included visiting the prehistoric caves, troglodytic dwellings, castle and gardens around Sarlat, the markets in Sarlat and Mirepoix, cathedrals and museums, taking back roads to see medieval villages, and spending the final day exploring the walled city of Carcassonne. Our enjoyment was greatly enhanced by our excellent guides, Sandra Ho from “France’s Impressions”, (Sarlat), Valerie (Cahors) and Olivia Gotti from “travelrealFrance” (Cahors and Carcassone) who were not only pleasant and well informed but had the knowledge and ability to customize our itinerary at our request. This included adding a visit to a goose farm (seeing/hearing hundreds of geese marching through the woods was something we’ll never forget), stopping at the Robert Doisneau museum (as a photographer, this was very meaningful to me) and visiting the Toulouse Lautrec museum. We also appreciated all the excellent accommodations. The staff at each hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. We loved being in the middle of the market in Sarlat, on the river by the Roman bridge in Cahors and at the base of the medieval city in Carcassonne. Finally, all the suggestions made by the guides for lunch stops were excellent. Even the weather cooperated (as Joel said it would). We are recommending Kimkim’s excellent service to everyone as we share (hopefully, without being too boring) our adventures with family and friends. Thank you!

Joel planned our trip which included Paris, St Malo, Loire Valley, Bordeau, Hossegor, and Biarritz. He arranged our hotels, rental car, hotels, and local tours. I was stressed out planning my trip until Joel came on the scene. I would highly recommend Joel & KimKim for any trip to France.

Unlike some other travel agents I spoke to, Joël understood my goals immediately and was fully committed to helping me achieve them. He created a customized itinerary that added many highlights I hadn't been aware of. He selected memorable hotels in each location, all perfectly suited to my tastes, and hired outstanding tour guides to make each site come alive. Best of all, he made everything easy. The itinerary set up by Joel from Kim Kim was perfect! The drivers were all there as scheduled for pick up. First Christophe picked us up at the CDG Airport and drove us out to Bayeux. He also picked us up on the day we were leaving on the train from Bayeux to Paris. There was a mix up in train schedules and Christophe went the extra mile by assisting us, speaking for us as we did not speak French. He explained the need to change our rail tickets and stood with us until we got on the train.... Read more

The tours and guides were excellent! The first day we went to Mont Saint-Michel with Lucy as our guide. She was very informative and had a contagious excitement about her. She made the hike up 300 steps seem like a breeze! On the second day John was our guide to the D-Day Beaches, a Museum and American Cemetery. His knowledge had us imagining we were on the beaches running for our lives as those many soldiers did. On the third day of our stay we had a private tour with Emmanuel from Caen. He was a delightful young man with intricate details of the history of the war. We toured the Military Museum in Caen, Cathedrals and even a cemetery from the 1800s! All in all a great trip to honor those who served their respective countries and made the ultimate sacrifice fighting in the War.

Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Check in and out was easy. Breakfast was yummy with an assortment of pastries, cereals, hot and cold drinks, fruits and a hot entree. The location was good. We could easily walk the town. The Cathedral across the street was absolutely beautiful! The only negative, we were given a room closest to the street and car lights and engine noises were a bit annoying, but calmed down as the evening wore on.

We had a fantastic week with 2 chefs (Alice and Basil) that went through Pastries, French classics, desserts and entremets. We also did a day of Lyonnaise cuisine assorted with small plates, some meatless dishes, petits fours, amuses bouches. Extremely fast paced and we went through about 50 total dishes in 4 days - it was difficult, a lot of work but exactly what we had asked and we could not be more happy with this week.

Jean-Alexandre did a good job at the lay of the land for the tour, good recommendations for restaurants and what not to do ! The hotel was well located, boutique with a good bistronomique restaurant, a good breakfast and quiet.

so all in all, it was the first time we worked with Joel and he really came through for this trip and we would not hesitate to have another trip with him and recommend to our close circle.

Excellent class with Alice and Basil. This was advanced, intensive and private 4 day class. We did over 50 recipes over the 4 days declined in several dishes in several meal formats. It is not for beginners and some level of French understanding is a must. If you want to dig deep into French cooking, this is a very good option. Everything was well organized, on time and extremely busy (what we wanted). Thanks for the great week.
