We spent 8 amazing nights in Switzerland - 4 in Lucerne, 3 in Lugano and 1 in Zurich (flew in and out here). Our KimKim guide was very helpful and patient and designed a great trip for us. If we had any constructive feedback, it would be that we didn't feel like we received enough detail regarding our excursions (what to wear, how are we traveling and exactly what are we doing) and they weren't always what we expected (depended on the local guide we got that day)...and we wish we (our fault) had opted for more free/downtime as our days were crammed with activities, leaving little time to just explore on our own.

KimKim put us at the Seehotel Hermitage in Lucerne right on the lake/10 minutes from town - location and rooms were great/beautiful, great breakfast, beach club is a bit overpriced - we'd stay there again though. We got tickets to Lucerne Transportation Museum, but ran out of time to enjoy it - only spending an hour at the Swiss chocolate 'ride' which was ok. Our first tour day was to Mount Rigi - it was a good day overall, spent getting up the mountain, having a lovely but long lunch at the Michelin-starred Edelweiss restaurant on the mountain, and then heading to the spa and enjoying an impromptu stop at a small church with two Swiss women playing the accordion...the area of opportunity here was that our guide wasn't the most professional, organized or seemingly knowledgeable. She lost her phone on the bus (can happen to anyone) that set in motion us missing our train and being off schedule most of the day - it happens. Day two was better - a different and more professional guide/tour to Engelberg/cheese and Mt. Titlis (incredible natural beauty) although the guide was on his phone a lot. We expected more of a behind the scenes cheese experience but in KimKim's defense, it says 'cheese tasting' and that's what it was - we went to a shop in Engelberg that may belong to the monastery and we ate some delicious cheese there. Boat ride from Lucerne to Fluelen and Gotthard train to Lugano are must do's - magical - loved the attendant on Gotthard train - beautiful views and very friendly.

In Lugano we stayed a Luganodante - centrally located and decent hotel- rooms just smelled a bit of smoke which hotel ascribed to us leaving window open. Our first tour day in Lugano was lovely with a local guide Romina who was very professional and knowledgeable. Day two was even better with a local guide Patricia (aka Patti) who took us to Bellinzona which was an amazing day - she was the best guide we had all week.

We stayed at the Marriott on the river in Zurich - it was fine.

Best meal by far during the week was Galleria Arte - Michelin-starred - in Lugano right by the lake. Simply incredible - only 10 tables.

All in all, this was the first time we ever used a travel agent to plan a trip and it was a pretty great experience overall - Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen and visiting in August was wonderful.

Bellinzona Private Tour: culture, art & traditions

Day two was even better with a local guide Patricia (aka Patti) who took us to Bellinzona which was an amazing day - she was the best guide we had all week. Recommend the risotto cooking class and lunch - lot of fun. She was very patient, incredibly warm and kind and gave us a lot of her time.

Amandine did an amazing job planning the honeymoon of our dreams. Plus the platform is so simple, easy to use and manage, and I have used KimKim for multiple trips. I definitely plan to continue using for any travel needs!

Melanie did a fantastic job crafting an itinerary that was tailored for what we wanted - Her recommendations for. tours and the scheduling obtaining of tickets made the trip so enjoyable as all we had to do was sit back and enjoy - all the paperwork was done. We wanted to experience many of the outdoor sites and thoroughly enjoyed bike with Flying Wheels. We also enjoy the train up to the Jungfraujoch: - Top of Europe - it was such an amazing adventure ! Melanie clearly knows the secret gems of Switzerland and listened to what we were looking for - The hotel choices were perfect - especially the one in Grindelwald - where we had a balcony and woke up each morning to the Swiss Alps, Glacier and a village that looked like something out of Heidi! They Swiss Caves were incredible - and so interesting to learn about - All the transportation was flawless -

Melanie did an absolute outstanding job - listening and working with us to ensure we had the best vacation ever -which we did! If we needed /wanted to change something due to weather - she was right on it re working so we didnt miss a thing!

Kayak tour on Lake Brienz

It was so easy to get to and such a fun way to view the Lake and town

We took a large family trip to Switzerland (9 adults, 9 children with ages from 6-76) starting in Zurich and ending in Milan. Our local guide, Ricardo, was amazing with his knowledge of the areas and helping us on our trip. But, the most important thing to our family, was how he put in effort to get to know our family members and was able to adapt the trip to our preferences during the trip. Our bus driver was also amazing: on time, professional, a skilled driver and caring for our family. The local Kim Kim specialist was able to work with me to plan the trip with activities that would be good for our family and then Ricardo was able to customize the activities further during our trip based on his knowledge and our interests. The hotels were located in wonderful areas to be able to explore the cities during our leisure time. We felt safe and well taken care of during our time in Switzerland.

Beautiful hotel in a good location. We were able to walk to areas of the city and local attractions easily. The rooms were great for families and the room with the rooftop balcony was very special. The front desk staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good and the facility was well taken care of.

Beautiful hotel lobby and staff tried to be helpful. The check in process for our large family group was long and difficult compared to other hotels. While the rooms were nice, they were hot and did not cool down at night. I talked with staff about the air not going below 24.5 C, and was informed that is the best they could do.

Hotel was in a nice location to see the lake, but it was a longer walk to the city center for shopping. Hotel staff were nice and helpful after there was a miscommunication with luggage. Rooms were nice and clean. Wonderful breakfast available. Nice pool available for use which the children enjoyed.

Kayak tour on Lake Brienz

This was one of our favorite activities. The lake is beautiful and a lot of fun to explore in kayaks. The kayak guides, Ben, Ryan and Mika, were amazing with our family. They led us in games we played on the lake and were able to accommodate our different ability levels with ages from 6-76. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this activity to everyone!

Swiss Food and Culture Tour in Interlaken!

We enjoyed our tour of Interlaken with our guide Nina. We went to the Woodpecker Woodshop and enjoyed the demonstration and shop there. It was lovely and cute. Then we went to a local dairy farm to see the happy cows and sampled the local cheese. It was a wonderful experience and the kids enjoyed it. We then went to the Funky Chocolate Club. We had a chocolate tasting and really enjoyed our time there. The chocolate and education received were top notch. I would also recommend this experience.

We had a little trouble contacting the local guide company to ensure meeting location, etc, but the guide herself, Nina, was fantastic.

Transport

We used our private bus and driver to access areas that were a longer walk due to missing the public transport option. Our group moved slowly due to having one person using a rollator and having a lot of people.

Bellinzona Private Walking Tour with Professional Guide

Bellizona is a beautiful city with wonderful history. We did a walking tour of the city and saw some very beautiful, old buildings and learned about its history. Then we were able to go up to one of the Castles and explore it. There was a museum with a movie that was very interesting, even to the youngest in our group (6 years old). We did enjoy this experience.

Rhine Falls & Stein am Rhein medieval village!

We enjoyed seeing the waterfalls and the medieval village. We were at the village on a Sunday, so some of the shops were closed. The river was beautiful to see and the kids were able to wade in the water to have some fun.

My wife and I had an unforgettable experience in Switzerland, thanks to the kimkim team. We worked closely with Valentine in organizing the trip. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional in her dealings with us. All our requests were met, and her recommendations were spot on. We started in Zurich and finished in Geneva...and visited Lucerne, Grindelwald, Zermatt, Montreux along the way. We were fortunate to be in Switzerland during the Women's Euro football tournament and the Montreux Jazz festival...Valentine worked the itinerary so we could experience both. She was a delight to team with. She and her colleague, Emilie, were also in touch during the trip to ensure all was going well and to deal with any questions we had, which we very much appreciated. Overall, the hotels, trains, excursions, tours, guides, recommendations, etc. were all fantastic. We had a great trip and very much appreciated the support we received.
