Louise Lewis

I enjoy everything connected to travel. As travelers, we all love to see new places, experience the culture, food, architecture and landscapes of a destination. But for me, a trip begins with the first thought of ''Where to next?'' I relish in the planning, research and organization of a holiday. I even love packing my suitcase!

Therefore I cannot think of a better role in life, than the one I have at Routescape.
Routescape creates exceptional journeys across Great Britain and Ireland. We strive to provide an unmatched tailored service delivering an authentic luxury travel experience with a true sense of place. I look forward to creating your next adventure with you.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"We create exceptional journeys across Great Britain and Ireland. These isles are truly inspiring filled with hidden treasures and remarkable backroads to be discovered. Our collection of handpicked luxury hotels and inns are amongst the best in Great Britain and Ireland. Whatever your accommodation preferences, all offer the most comfortable stay, genuine warm hospitality and extraordinary food in the most scenic locations."

How did you get involved in travel?

"After living in France for a number of years running a horse riding holiday centre, I moved back to the UK to live in the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire, Wales. Here I looked after the day to day operations of a leading luxury country house hotel as the General Manager. The opportunity to lead the travel team at Routescape draws upon my passions for authentic travel and extraordinary hotels and inns."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Seldom am I lost for words, but after driving for days through the Red Centre of Australia, when I caught a glimpse of 'Uluru' Ayers Rock on the horizon, I was rendered speechless. I remember the song on the radio at the time, seeing the snoozing faces of the people I was travelling with who had all been searching the road ahead for this iconic sight. For just a few seconds the view was just mine before the vehicle erupted with excitement from all my friends! "

We had an amazing few weeks driving through Wales and England. Louise planned a lovely trip based on our wish to see beautiful coastal walks and pretty villages. We loved Wales which has escaped a lot of the tourist hype. Mountains, villages and beautiful coast. Louise chose lovely hotels with excellent food. We also enjoyed time in The Cotswolds, Bath and Cornwall. Stand out hotels were Tyddyn Llan and Caes Faen in Wales, the Grove of Narbeth in Pembrokeshire, Dormy House in the Cotswolds,... read more

Stand out hotels were Tyddyn Llan and Caes Faen in Wales, the Grove of Narbeth in Pembrokeshire, Dormy House in the Cotswolds, Lucknam Park in Bath and Gidleigh Park in Devon. The service was outstanding, accomodation beautiful and food amazing
The only place we found disappointing was a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon. It has become over commercialised and was packed with bus loads of tourists. All the other places we visited were lovely.
Louise also managed to sort out a small problem with the pick up location of our rental car very quickly. Communication with her was easy via Kimkim when we were at home in NZ and directly when we needed help in the UK. Couldn’t recommend her highly enough. Thanks Louise.
