How did you get involved in travel?

"Based on my personal experience, I believe that travel is not just about checking places off a list. It’s about soaking in everything that a destination has to offer: culture, food, local idiosyncrasies. True travelers delve into the nooks and crannies of their destination and manage to come out the other side as a person who is forever changed.

There is no other place on Earth like Ecuador. I have ambled through its beaches and cloud forests, sailed its seas and canoed down its rivers, climbed its snow-peaked mountains and met the incredibly diverse and exceptional peoples that call this magnificent country home. I wanted to share my love for discovery and immersion in this small but splendid country."

"I will never forget the first time I saw the sunrise over the Yasuní National Park's rainforest canopy. We woke up before dawn and trudged through the muddy jungle trail in complete darkness and silence. We then climbed the 40-meter tall kapok tree to the observation tower and sat, waiting patiently. As the light began to filter into the sky, the fog hovering on the tree line started to lift, and then, as if led by an invisible conductor, all the different animals began their morning ritual, filling the air with a beautiful cacophony, and me with a sense of awe. "
