With five days in Argentina, you can focus on a single region or visit two: thanks to the frequency of domestic flights, you can start and end your trip in Buenos Aires and also spend a few days in wine country or a national park. Explore the famed wine region of Mendoza, road-trip around the colorful northwest, see the spectacular waterfalls at IguazĂș, view whales and penguins in the wild, and enjoy wine and tango in the capital city with the options below.

On these seven unique itineraries, you'll start in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, then venture to the trekking and skiing hub around Bariloche, the wildlife paradise of Puerto Madryn, and the colorful landscapes of Argentina's northwest—between the city and the great outdoors, you'll get the best of both worlds.

With 10 days to spend in Argentina, you have enough time to visit several destinations. If you have two weeks in Argentina, you can enjoy an introduction to the country's cities, waterfalls, and desert scenery on a highlights tour or focus on the Patagonia region and experience the dramatic landscapes of Los Glaciares and Tierra del Fuego National Parks. Travelers looking to explore from top to bottom should opt for a trip that includes El Calafate, Bariloche, and Salta, while those seeking a unique experience should drive around Northern Argentina's volcanic landscapes and salt plains.

How Many Days to Spend in Argentina

With 10 to 14 days in Argentina, you can spend time getting to know two main regions, plus Buenos Aires, one of the world's great cities. Hear the mammoth IguazĂș Falls roar in the north, or visit the western city of Mendoza—ground zero for wine lovers. Those with more time should consider spending much of it in the wilds of Patagonia, and those with less than a week should stick to the capital and surrounds.

Best Time of Year to Visit Argentina

When is the best time to visit Argentina? It depends on what you want to do. Winter is for skiing and visiting the Northwest, summer is for hitting Patagonia's trails, and the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are beautiful in Buenos Aires (and almost everywhere else!).

First Timer Argentinian Explorers: Micaela's choice of four spectacular Argentinian 'must see' locations for us

The choice of four of the most spectacular Argentinian locations (the Lake Country - Bariloche, the wine country – Mendoza, the rain forest – Iguazu, and Buenos Aires) was excellent for first-time explorers like us in the country. The Kimkim team was highly interactive, asking about and responding to our interests, suggesting locations, and working with us at every step. The team was especially responsive in working with us to revise and adapt the original plan when a significant ‘hitch’ occurred on our part.
We can’t say enough positive things about the planning and care by staff (Micaela & Julieta): every ride was there when promised, the guides (Sabrina and Rodriguez) were beyond excellent with their in-depth knowledge and interpretation, the choice of hotels (espeically the boutique hotel in Palermo/Soho and the Yurt at Pristine Camp) , and regular contact with us to make sure all was well.
Though all parts of the trip were superb, the cooking class Lamadrid Winery in Mendoza and the Iguazu Falls in Iguazu were fun and engaging.
This was our second Kimkim trip planning experience, and it’s not likely to be the last!! Thank you, Kimkim!!

Half Day Dinner & Tango Show with Lesson included
Buenos Aires

Superb! It started off with us two - 86 and 83 years young - working our way through a Tango lesson. Even have a video to share (if we choose!). Then a stage-side dinner show. Dinner was good, the Tango show (90 minutes) was fun and superb. It happened that the couple sharing our table had their daughter as a part of one of the Tango teams. That added some 'connection' for us, and after the show, we had our pictures taken with the daughter and her Tango partner.

It means a lot to us that you felt supported throughout the planning process and during the trip, especially when adjustments were needed along the way. Being able to adapt and stay close to our travelers is a key part of how we work, so your words really resonate with our team.

Our trip was labeled “Unforgettable Honeymoon” on KimKim and the trip definitely lived up to its name. We had an amazing time exploring Argentina in 12 days. We were able to go to Buenos Aires, Puerto Iguazu, Mendoza, and El Calafate, but didn’t feel rushed. Our airport transfers were seamless and always on time and the hotels were perfect for each location. Joaquina was available by email when we requested a last minute change, and she even emailed halfway through the trip checking in.

We loved every place we visited. Our most memorable hotel was in Mendoza and it was perfectly scheduled as a time to relax 3/4 into our trip. Even activities we didn’t expect, like The Argentine Experience, were amazing.

Our guide in Buenos Aires was absolutely wonderful — his knowledge of the city's history, architecture, and political past brought everything to life in a way no guidebook ever could. From the streets of Recoleta to the stories behind the city's iconic buildings, he made every stop genuinely fascinating. We'd book with him again in a heartbeat.
