This was an amazing trip. There were 2 glitches in the schedule, the strike in Bolivia which caused us to miss Puma Punko but KimKim quickly made alternative suggestions and tours. Plus a change in Nazca line air tours from Paracus but KimKim quickly solved our hotel and tour options to make it happen. Overall we were very happy with the hotel selections and tours.

Hi Mark,

Thank you so much for the kind review! I really appreciate your flexibility with the couple of changes during the trip, and I’m so glad everything worked out in the end.

It was a pleasure helping plan your Peru adventure, and I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the hotels and tours overall.

My only complaint was the last day, when no transportation was provided for the cooking class. When we finally got there and found the area, it was late and we were unable to participate. Stacked against all of the positive, that was just a small glitch.
I still don't know why we had a charge of 500 dollars at Las Qolqas. I would like to know what it was for if possible. Could you do some research for me?
My daughter knows a couple of travel agents here in Billings, and she has shared with them several times who you are and how helpful you have been. We will definitely continue to spread the word and will again choose you when we travel again.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful trip.

What a beautiful setting!!! We felt pampered and blessed by the straight-up mountains that surrounded us. The staff were always helpful and polite, and the massage therapists did a great job. The drivers that took us to town and back were very polite and helpful with directions for getting around town. I'm not sure why we have an extra charge, but that is the only negative. Great choice!

Again, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help us in any way. The courtyard was a pleasant place to relax, and sitting under the umbrellas during the showers with a glass of wine was very easy to do. The steep grade was hard at first, but we quickly adjusted to the climb, and soon it seemed quite natural.

Our recent trip to Peru planned through Kimkim, with Kristy Tizon as our travel specialist, was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, personalized, and thoughtfully curated to match exactly what we were hoping to get out of the trip.

Kristy did an outstanding job designing an itinerary that balanced adventure, culture, and relaxation. Every detail—transportation, accommodations, guided tours—was handled with precision, allowing us to focus entirely on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about logistics. Her communication throughout the planning process was prompt and insightful, and she was always willing to adjust plans based on our preferences.

Highlights of the trip included exploring the Sacred Valley, experiencing the rich history of Cusco, and, of course, visiting Machu Picchu—each made even more memorable by the knowledgeable local guides Kristy arranged. The accommodations were comfortable and well-located, and every transition between destinations felt effortless.

What truly set this experience apart was the level of personalization and care. It never felt like a generic, pre-packaged tour—every aspect reflected our interests and travel style. Even when minor questions came up during the trip, support was quick and helpful.

I would highly recommend booking through Kimkim and working with Kristy Tizon for anyone considering a trip to Peru. It was a stress-free, unforgettable experience, and we’re already looking forward to planning our next adventure

Johanna did a great job and was instrumental in ensuring we were pleased with the final program, but she unexpectedly dropped off the account a week or so prior to the start of our trip. Kristy did a good job in backfilling, but unfortunately a few logistical elements were missed or overlooked. Specifically, incorrect names provided to the Cusco hotel, the original morning departure time for our Lima-Cusco flight was too early to make, having to pay for checked baggage at the Lima airport, even though they were to have been included in our ticket. The fee was subsequently reimbursed by KimKim. None of these were overly problematic, simply an unnecessary inconvenience, and likely the result of Kristy replacing Johanna late in our trip management cycle.

We plan on using KimKim again,

Thank you for your feedback, Larry. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and want to clarify a few points.

There was one confirmed issue related to baggage fees on the domestic flight. While standard economy seats together were included as booked, the baggage fees were not handled correctly. Once this was identified, those fees were reimbursed.

Regarding Machu Picchu tickets and document timing: tickets for your travel dates were not released by the government until January 3, just days before departure. Unfortunately there is no telling how soon before the new year tickets will be released as it changes year to year. Your trip fell within a period where tickets were released the same month of travel, and confirmation timing can be unpredictable. On the day tickets were released, the official system experienced outages due to high demand that affected all operators. Once access was restored, we worked to secure the best available tickets, and final travel documents were sent after confirmation.

The train departed from the Urubamba station located directly at your hotel, Tambo del Inka. This is the only train station in Urubamba. Train speed on this route is standard across all services. Traveling via Ollantaytambo requires an additional road transfer and does not result in a faster overall journey.

The hotel reservation was confirmed through kimkim’s booking system using the traveler names listed at the time of booking. The other names were of people from your group that was part of the planning process, but later did not confirm. Their names somehow remained in the traveler list, which is used for hotel confirmations. We notified the hotel in advance, and there were no issues at check-in.

On arrival in Cusco, our local colleague met the group in person, reviewed the itinerary, answered questions, and provided your printed itinerary and tickets. Follow-up calls from you during the trip were answered to reconfirm pickup times and logistics.

All transfers were arranged as scheduled, including two separate airport transfers on your arrival and final day. A requested change to your pickup time the day prior was also accommodated.

Aside from the reimbursed baggage issue, the trip operated as confirmed and was fully supported on the ground. I appreciate your positive feedback about the guides and local team.
