Venice Liberty Travel

Liberty Travel is a dmc based in Mestre, specialized in tailor-made tours for groups and FIT clients all around Italy since 1993. Starting from 2021, we are part of Bassani Group, a very old and reliable company based in Venice and acting in various touristic fields, as DMC, travel agency and tour operator, land excursions and shipping services supplier for the main cruise lines. The group also hold a land and maritime transport provider and a maritime and shipment agency since 1860.
Bassani Group also organizes events for important clients as Valentino, Allianz, Swatch and others.
Our company is well known on the US Market; we provide land services in Italy to the main cruise lines and US tour operators as Tauck, Uniworld, Adventures by Disney.
We support clients from various markets (France, Belgium, Canada, Turkey, US, Mexico) so we are very used to talk to clients from multiple countries and cultures.
I think our strong points are first off all creativity; we surely arrange classic programs for our clients, but our specialty is off the beaten paths journeys. We organize a lot of thematic and cultural tours for clients with specific interests. Even when we propose the classic places as Venice for instance, we try to include in our programs places normally out of the touristic circuits like visit to small private museums or palaces or special and exclusive private experiences.
We work all over Italy with many suppliers, we do a lot of scouting to find the most authentic experiences. We do not work with “touristic” suppliers, we rather prefer small ones, we work with family run wineries for instance, that are not even used to welcome tourists. Our clients love meeting this kind of people and adore the interaction we offer them with local people.
Also regarding accommodation, we surely sell luxury and famous properties, but also small boutique hotels far from the tourism areas and also new concept hotels as the “Alberghi Diffusi” (That’s a kind of accommodation you can find only in Italy, we can translate it with “Scattered hotels”).
Moreover, we are really focused on sustainability, we recently obtained a certification, and we propose sustainable journeys. We propose our clients to use train instead of cars or we propose them to overnight in small villages to help the local economy to grow. We have a very nice program around Umbria, a region that was affected by a terrible earthquake few years ago. Visiting those places (which are amazing and where life was almost back to normality by the way) our clients help the local communities to continue their business there.
Each request we receive is different to us, we really try to build for each client his unique journey to Italy, by adding some little things and surprises along the way. In fact, communication with our travelers is a must to know their interests, passions and provide an unforgettable journey.

This was our favorite hotel of the trip. The lobby, bar/restaurant and room were all clean, comfortable and modern. The breakfast was delicious and had a large variety. Especially loved the bloody mary and mimosa bar at breakfast. Very close to the sights and many restaurants and shops.

The Rome Food Tour in a golf cart was a bit confusing to us. The description we received did not match the actual tour. We expected multiple food stops and some sightseeing, but the tour mainly involved visiting a food market. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable, and he did his best to accommodate some sightseeing upon our request. Overall, it was still a decent experience, but not what we anticipated based on the description.

The Pisa Half-Day Tour was enjoyable, but we found that the time scheduled for us to be in Pisa was a bit too long. We ended up taking an earlier train back to Florence, which worked out fine as no one checked our tickets. While the tour itself was nice, I would suggest optimizing the time spent for future travelers.

This boutique winery catered to us very well. The scenery was fantastic and our seating in front of a wall of floor to ceiling glass enabled us to take full advantage. The wines and information were very interesting. Food/lunch along with it was very tasty and went well with the tasting.

After a big travel day and a long train ride, jumping back into reality at a busy train station is a bit of a shock. Being met at our arrival was a very easy and comfortable way to ease into our stay. She explained a lot of things about how the water taxis worked and how to get around, all this on the way to the hotel. Very glad we had this.

Marta planned the trip and we were very disappointed in her planning. She did not tell us how remote the hotel in Agrigento was. We could not walk into town and Could not get a taxi or an uber. A hotel employee drove us in his personal car. The tour in the Valley of the Temples was supposed to be a small group but was over 40 people and was conducted in Italian and English. It was a waste. We could not walk into town.. The hotel in Siracusa was horrible. There were no services. The... Read more

The cooking class was great but we were not asked if there were any food concerns and one member of our group does not eat meat. Gila made adjustments but that shouldn’t have happened. Regarding your stay in Taormina, although the hotel was fully booked, we still arranged for the possibility of a room change to improve your experience. In the end, you kindly chose to keep the original room.
As for the hotel in Syracuse, no issues were reported during your stay. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to make adjustments afterwards, but please know that our team is always available to assist immediately on site.

Loved this and wish we had more time to spend in the other towns. We skipped Amalfi as it was SO crowded but our driver knew the best places to go! He even recommended a lunch spot and made reservations for us, Germano was our favorite guide/driver!

I have done this one other time, but would recommend one of the other locations. We were in a main boating area with choppy waters and not the best views/canals

From start to finish, our 12 day honeymoon (organized by Giulia) was absolute perfection. We went to Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento, Florence, and Venice. From start to finish, our 12 day honeymoon (organized by Giulia) was absolute perfection. We went to Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento, Florence, and Venice. From the get-go, I felt I could trust Giulia to curate the best experience for us in our budget. A few standout things for us: First of all, the accomodations were incredible. Great locations and very high-quality. Second, we were very appreciative of the level of communication and service both ahead of the trip and during the trip. You know exactly where you need to be and when and all transfers were exactly as expected. No matter where we ended up, we could be rest assured that someone with a sign with our name on it would be waiting for us. Even during the trip, when one of our tours had to be adjusted (not Kimkim's fault), the team was super quick to come up with an alternative. Third, all the tours and experiences were just awesome. Special highlights were our private tour of the Uffizi Gallery, our private walking tour of Venice, and our day trip being driven around Amalfi.

A small anecdote to just highlight the level of service: a few weeks before our trip, Giulia had to contact us that because of last minute Jubilee changes, we needed to move our Vatican tour time to ensure we could see everything. While in Rome, we overheard another couple at dinner find out in real time that they wouldn't be able to go to the Vatican because they were scheduled to go at our original time. We told them that our travel agent had been so on top of it and sorted out this issue weeks ago!

We would definitely use kimkim again for a future trip!
