Of course the Parthenon is most memorable and our guide (Eleni), also an archeologist, had an encyclopedic knowledge of Greek history and mythology. I really enjoyed running on the 1896 Olympic Stadium track. Thank you. Cooking class was fabulous. We loved what we cooked and the wine tasting...so much fun. Ilia and Demetri were fantastic. The tour of Delphi and our guide Penny were superb. Brava, as Penny would say. Great hotel and nice swimming in Galaxidi. The tour of Olympia was too quick. Not enough time to explore. The tour of Mycenae was a bit rushed also but Theo was great. So glad we stayed in Nafplio. Seeing Prometheus Bound at Epidauros was a dream come true. It was on our bucket list. Corinth was cool - Eleusis not so much. The last day/night in Vouliagmeni was a nice touch - wonderful dinner.
Hotel Review
Location, comfort, and quiet. Stayed one night last August. Beautiful stroll along the water from the hotel to an amazing fresh fish dinner. Stepped out the door the next morning for an epic open water swim around the bay, the point, and the next bay. Relaxing breakfast with coffee on our private balcony overlooking the bay and town, and enjoyed a relaxing after breakfast swim. Checkout not until 12:00 so we had a super relaxing morning.
Bring a bathing suit. Lots of locals swim in the bay right off the town's promenade. We did too. Super convenient steps right into the water.
