Hamid was the absolute highlight of the trip. A national treasure. He is so kind and funny and knowledgeable and has a true love for his country. We only had one day booked in the dessert and he really wanted us to try Berber pizza but we weren't going to have time. He surprised us by picking up a pizza before he picked us up from the Sahara then at our lunch stop he paid the restaurant to heat it up. It was so delicious and such a special experience. If we could give him 10000/10 we would.
Hotel Reviews
Though we almost froze to death (lol) we had a great time here. It was beautiful and comfortable. We wanted to try sand boarding but couldn't find the boards or anyone to ask about it. But overall a great experience
Beautiful hotel and rooms. The only complaint was the hotel was so empty we didn't really feel comfortable eating in the dining room. So we just ordered some skewers and asked they were delivered to our room. But the staff was nice and the space was gorgeous

Another beautiful space however the floors were a bit dirty in the rooms. I could feel grit on my bare feet. Otherwise a fabulous stay. The food was delicious

The guide was really great and knew a lot about the Medina. It felt more regular tour and less food tour. I had mentioned I was a chef during planning and had hoped that would be reflected in the tour however it felt like we were just going to random stalls, not "the best" ones like I have done on past tours. But like I said, he was a great guide and we did try several things - maybe this is the style that is done here. I would definitely recommend the guide to friends for a walking tour but maybe not food specific.
Kamal was incredible. What a wealth of knowledge. We only had 4 hours but I could have listened to him all day. Absolutely brilliant.
