Fantastically planned trip

Beautiful hotel with great service and breakfast. We really liked the environment and staff here. Location was just off the historic center, so it was easy to walk everywhere. We always felt safe and comfortable while staying here.

This hotel is located right in the historic center, just two blocks away from the cathedral and the national palace. Lots of great places to eat nearby. Staff was great, and we enjoyed the choices available in the breakfast buffet.

This was a very busy day with lots of locations to visit. Hierve el Agua was a very beautiful location, and Mitla was fascinating to explore. We also learned quite a bit about the natural dye process in Teotitlán, and the mezcal making process. We ended our day with a mezcal tasting that was much more fun than we expected!

There was so much tasty food to try! We toured through Oaxaca trying different food, such as memelas, tetelas, and tlayudas to name a few. Our guide explained the history and the importance of all the markets we visited. We learned a lot and had a great time.

We really enjoyed this part of our trip. We met several master artisans and were able to speak to them about their work and experiences. We also got to tour some workshops to learn more about their process in creating certain handicrafts. And of course we were able to purchase some at these locations. We made sure to come back with lots of mementos from this part of our trip.

Monte Alban was an incredible place to visit with so much rich history. Our guide walked us through the ruins and provided lots of information about the location. We spent a good while walking around and exploring the ruins, learning about the different buildings and places he carvings that are still visible. The alebrijes workshop was very fun, and we were able to meet the master artisan there and learn about his experiences and his father who was the one who taught him.

The walking tour was great and our guide gave excellent explanations for every stop. We even learned about the local amber production which weren’t expecting. Overall a great tour that went by too fast. There was so much to see! We learned about local handicrafts, the local churches md their history, and much more.

The excursion to Sumidero Canyon was fantastic and was 2 hours full of information about the canyon we saw nd its local flora and fauna. We saw some very unexpected fauna during the boat tour, and our guide was able to point out things we weren’t able to see at first. We received some very heavy rain immediately after the boat tour, but it stopped shortly after and we were able to explore Chiapa de Corzo after.

Photos we saw online don’t do these locations justice. Seeing the waterfalls in person was incredible and words can’t describe how beautiful they are. It was very hot and humid at these locations, but it was worth it to experience in person.

The Palenque Archeological Site was incredible to see in person. There is so much to see, and the pyramids are nothing like we expected. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the location and its history. We also requested the tour into the jungle, and he was able to provide it. We learned a lot about the nature surrounding the site, and were now to see ruins still partially hidden by the jungle.

We specially requested this stop as it wasn’t part of the original itinerary but wanted to see it as we were going to be in the area. The zoo isn’t particularly impressive, but we went to see the stone monuments on the display there. It was incredible to see how many ancient pieces were on display.

We were able to learn a lot about Mexico City and its history. Our guide, Garuda, was fantastic to talk to and had a lot to show us. Mexico City has so much rich history, and we saw so much more of the historic center than we expected.

Teotihuacan was such an incredible place to visit. The pyramids are so impressive to see in person. We were able to climb up the moon pyramid and see a spectacular view of the rest of the ruins. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area’s history and made the tour a fantastic experience.
