Peru

We spent about 2 weeks in Peru and it was undoubtably incredible. We felt in love with Peru for its history, its natural beauties and its people. From the planning, Kristy curated every details and gave us some important suggestions. During the trip, she was even more responsive and solved any unforeseen matters quickly. All local guides we met were wonderful, including Simon who showed us Pisac/Moray/Maras and took care of us while hiking to Rainbow mountains; Roily shared wonderful stories and views about Machu Picchu; and Tek & Herbert explained everything about Arequipa… This was one of the best trips we have ever made and we would definitely come back to Peru to explore more.
Hotel Reviews
Wonderful view to the Pacific Ocean.
Luxurious and relaxing feel.
Nice boutique hotel.
The location is super tactical for reaching bus stop to Machu Picchu if you have early morning entrance.
The hotel design is pretty authentic and environmental friendly. The only concern was the slightly poor sound isolation.
The view to the lake and private dock for boat tour were priceless.
Activity Reviews
Machu Picchu is without a doubt the most renowned attraction of Peru. It’s worth every effort to hike up to Huayna Picchu (circuit 3-A ), as from the summit the view to Machu Picchu is just stunning.
We were “fortunate” to see Rainbow Mountain in its more original status: it was cloudy when we started the hike, then it turned snowy (icing) when we reached the summit (5036m a.s.l.). For us it’s a pleasant hike though the temperature was low. The colors of rainbow mountain were a little dull due to the weather condition but the hike itself was very rewarding.
One might think it’s just a train ride but it’s more than that. Apart from amazing view to the Andes mountains, Peru Rail was well organized to get passengers entertained. Plus the food on board was incredibly tasty.
Gloria and Stefano, thank you so much for taking the time to share this. It was such a joy planning and following along on your 50th birthday journey through Peru, and I’m so happy to hear how meaningful the experience was for you both. I’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to our amazing local guides as well. Wishing you many more adventures ahead, and I’d absolutely love to help whenever you’re ready to return to Peru or explore somewhere new.
