Our trip to Kenya and Uganda checked all of the boxes. Stephan was good to work with and did a nice job of customizing the trip for a great wildlife and cultural experience. Our drivers, Stephan and guide Dannie in Uganda and John in Kenya were the best parts. They went out of their ways to make our trip great. To be clear, the trip was an adventure. One suggestion that challenged us is that we should have been alerted to the East Africa Visa that covers both countries. Applying for both visas created some significant challenges that I must comment Stephan and Dannie for working out for us in record time. Shake downs by police of our drivers was common, but handled without any incidents on our part, all part of the adventure. Overall, the accommodations exceeded my expectations and food was great. I went two weeks with no heartburn and zero issues for all four of us. Water was always available. While we did not see the migration, we were able to check off nearly every animal in the area with a few extras that were not normal, like the African Wild Cat, not even in the books! The Gorillas in Bwindi were amazing. When we first saw them, I nearly cried with excitement, a feeling I have not had since my kids were born.

Hello Jeff,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. It was truly a pleasure working with you and your family to create this adventure, and I’m delighted to hear that the trip checked all the boxes!

Reading about your gorilla trekking experience brought a huge smile to my face. The moment you described, seeing the gorillas for the first time and feeling a level of excitement, is exactly why we love sharing East Africa with our guests. Those are the kinds of memories that stay with us forever.

I’m also thrilled that you enjoyed the accommodations, food, wildlife encounters, and cultural experiences. Spotting an African Wild Cat is quite the achievement, many guides go years without seeing one! It sounds like you had an incredible collection of sightings across both Uganda and Kenya.

Thank you as well for your feedback regarding the East Africa Tourist Visa. That’s a valuable suggestion, and we’ll continue looking for ways to make the pre-travel process even smoother for future guests.

Most importantly, thank you for your kind words about Dannie, John, and the entire team. I’ll be sure to share your comments with them, they will be absolutely delighted to hear them.

It was an honor to host you and the rest of your family. We hope this was the first of many African adventures, and we’ll be ready when the next one calls!
