We felt like we sat down in the lap of luxury when we arrived at Tejaprana. Once you turn off the very busy street, you descend (literally) into an island paradise of quiet and green and luxury. Frankly, we were happy to spend all of our free time at the resort, partly because we'd been traveling for a long time, and partly because it's just so damn nice. Similarly, Aruna Restaurant is excellent! We ate our way through most of the Balinese offerings they had on the menu, sometimes more than once. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, from the top management to the people cleaning the resort.

The market walk was interesting, because it gave us such a good glimpse into daily life. The cooking class was exceptional, start to finish!.

It was absolutely fascinating to step into the world of a Balinese family, if only for part of a day. Our guide (I wish I could remember his name, but he was 6'5" tall, so very distinctive among Balinese men) did a great job introducing us to religious traditions and other aspects of daily life. I enjoyed learning about their 18-character alphabet, and getting a memento of my name written in Balinese. It was also interesting to see the amount of labor that goes in to producing coconut oil, coconut milk, and grated coconut.

Amazing and visually appealing hotel. Great buffet. Welcoming spa with well equipped gym and sauna. Pleasant outdoor pool. Lots of artistic flourishes to keep your interest and attention. Helpful and courteous staff.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. Our agency upgraded us to a junior suite which was fantastic. The hotel pool was pleasant and right by the beach. We were there in the off season and it was rather dead and the breakfast experience was initially disappointing. By the time we left there were many more guests and a full breakfast buffet--a welcome change. The staff was uniformly courteous and helpful. The location was OK. You could walk into the town center in 25 minutes if you wanted to. A few mini marts and a nice coffee/ice cream shop were within 10 minutes walk. They arranged taxi rides for a modest fee. There were no free shuttles. My only compliant: the exercise room was the poorest condition I have ever seen in any hotel--even small hotels. Broken equipment, uninviting ambience. no towels or water. Really embarrassing for someone who looks for this amenity.

Visiting the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud was quite fun. The monkeys were lively and jumped on us, keen on grabbing anything they thought was food, even stealing water bottles. It was amusing watching their antics, especially with the cute baby monkeys around.

The Visit to Tegallalang Rice Terrace was visually beautiful initially, but turned into more of a tourist enclave with zip lines, swings, and numerous photo ops which overshadowed the natural beauty of the terraces. Our guide seemed to think we wanted to indulge in the amusement park-like activities rather than immerse in the natural environment. We would have preferred to walk in the rice paddies. I'd suggest that guides inquire about clients' preferences beforehand. It certainly had its fun moments, though.

The Caci Dance Performance was a big surprise and a pleasant one at that. We initially thought it would just be another tribal dance, but it turned out to be an intimate cultural experience. Being the only duo on the tour, hosted by someone perhaps from the tribe, we were introduced to customs in an engaging way, even being welcomed into the community with a white rooster. The ceremony, the dances including the delightful rice harvest dance, and participating in some of the routines were fascinating. Sharing stories and drinks afterwards made it feel warm and personal. This is perfect for someone interested in true cultural immersion.

Very nice hotel and room. We had some issues with the TV and AC in our first room, which required some elevation to management and finally requesting a new room to get fixed. The hotel itself is the nicest we stayed at. It’s also a very touristy area, so it’s very catered to western standards and safety. Also loved how close to was to the airport for the end of our trip.

It was a great hotel overall, but the rooms could use some updates. The cleanliness was OK. A few issues with cleaning that they promptly fixed when asked. It should be noted the shower is outdoors, which is so fun but can be a bit of an issue sometimes with rainy season. There is also only a shower, no tub. The restaurants were fantastic!

Our favorite place we stayed. The cutest little villa with our own private plunge pool. The welcome drink and massages were great.

We loved this! So unique and it was great to do the temple tour prior to the performance. Our guide was very experienced and spoke English so well. I am so glad this was a part of our itinerary.

The waterfall was so beautiful! It was a really cool little hike through a river and forest there. Our guide was so fun and took great photos.

I’m sure the beaches are really great, unfortunately it was raining the day we had this scheduled so we got stuck in some rain storms. It’s also a little far from the resort we stayed in.

Our favorite activity- highly recommend this. We even went back to the gili islands another day because we loved it so much. So so many sea turtles!! The viewing glass upgrade to the boat was nice, but overall a speed boat would have been amazing for faster travel. Also, a nicer boat with a better area on the front to lounge would have made it perfect.

I was surprised to first see trash and trash barrels upon arrival at the driveway. This could be mitigated with a little gated trash stand which I saw on a short walk. It negatively colored my first impression of the place. Because of very loud night creatures it was impossible to sleep without earplugs. I only got into the pool after heavy rain. Before that the water looked a little murky.

It was really cool having a swimming pool in the living room! Loved the bathroom in my room as well. I do suggest that KimKim advise visitors to wear pool shoes or flip flops upon immediately leaving the pool. The tile floor is very slippery. The location was great for nearby shopping and services. We did inform the house staff that we found rat droppings on the stairs and upstairs hallway. Also, two times a kitchen garbage can was knocked over, probably by the squirrel we saw. Even with this our stay was enjoyable.

This was a real threat from start to finish. I enjoyed trying the exotic fruits at the market and later the cooking class. I highly recommend this activity to others.

The room was beautiful with a spacious deck and an outdoor bathroom. The pool and reading tub (not a hot tub) were the perfect place to rest and relax after a day of adventures. Plenty of beaches, restaurants, shopping, and a temple in a cave cliffside were all within walking distance. We got to enjoy an amazing local artist singing.

AC unit was not working, and the water shut off in the middle of my shower. Staff were friendly, the place was clean, and beach front pool & restaurant were amazing

This was a private adventure. The guide swam with us, pointing out amazing corals, fish, a sea turtle, dolphins, and fought of a dangerous fish. He pulled the boat along with him so it was close to us. The equipment was clean and in good condition. The guide took lots of pictures for us and of us. He would dive down to distances we couldn't in order to get the perfect shot. We were picked up in the boat from our hotel.

It was amazing to be welcomed into the host's home. It provided great insight into the family dynamics within their culture. It was fun to experience their daily cooking habits. Starting at the market, prepping each ingredient, and preparing what felt like a feast. The staff made it flow smoothly without taking away cooking opportunities.

The driver, Don, was very friendly, informative, and provided a perfect day. We loved that this was our first day, as we got so much information about Bali culture, lifestyles, and geography.

We really loved ending our trip at this hotel. The staff was very attentive and friendly, we felt extremely welcomed. We actually liked that it was a few blocks from the beach so that it was quieter at night, they have their own beach chairs with an attendant if you decide to go over there which was a nice touch. We loved the food/drink, they even gave us an entire cake for our honeymoon! The wifi was the fastest of any hotel we stayed at and we liked all of the small touches like the frangipani oil scenting our room and the bathtub filled with flowers when we arrived. They even have a shuttle that will take you anywhere in Sanur for free. We would highly recommend staying here.

The location was very close to the port and the area is very nice. We loved the views of the ocean and all of the pool options. The room was very nice, however we wished that there was more than just one mirror which happened to be outside. We also wished that at least the toilet was indoors (it was outside along with the shower, sink, and tub). We LOVED the private pool in the villa though, it was really nice being able to have that to ourselves. The spa on-site was also extremely nice. We got multiple treatments done and all were lovely. There was one night where there was a local wedding going on where the music was super loud until late at night and again at 5am, that wasn't the hotel's fault but we wished there was some noise ordinances in the area especially since that's where tourists are staying to relax.

This hotel is STUNNING. We loved the views, large rooms, private balcony, the infinitely pools up in the clouds are nothing short of magical. We loved all of the activities they have on the grounds including a tour of the coffee plantation, yoga, trying on authentic attire the locals wear to temples, and eating food which is mostly grown in their gardens. Everything was geared towards sustainability and supporting the local community. The cherry on top was the 4 grinds of coffee with the equipment to make it how you like in the room (French press, V60, espresso, Bali-style), the free afternoon tea which included local sweets, and the nightly treat with a scroll that had a story about the local culture. It became our favorite nightly routine to read our "bedtime story". The complimentary massage was also a huge bonus!

We loved the view of our valley villa! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, I also cannot say enough wonderful things about how good the food/drink were at the restaurant! It was a little distance from Ubud center, but it was nice and quiet which was definitely our preference. We would definitely stay there again.

The 2 waterfalls we saw were absolutely stunning. However, there were some parts of the tour we wished had gone smoother. First off, we didn't realize how unsafe the hike to the 2nd waterfall was going to be (slippery rocks, rocky pathways held together by rusty wire fencing with pieces of metal sticking upward, stairs with rusted away handrails, etc). I had on hiking sandals that worked for hiking down stairways to other waterfalls, but the metal wiring was poking into them as well as my husband's hiking water shoes that have holes in the bottom. We would have picked different shoes had we known. We had a guide in our car, however we had to use a local guide once we got to the waterfalls who didn't speak English. He walked away ahead of us and didn't show us where to step on the trail so we didn't know what rocks were sturdy/safe to walk on. We got the feeling that he didn't care much about making sure we were safe or having a good experience, and more like he just wanted to get the hike over with. After the waterfalls, we were excited to see the Sasak village especially since the village tour in Bali was so great. However, our guide from the car was the one who did the "tour" and it only lasted less than 10 minutes. He didn't tell us very much about it, and it felt more like we were intruding in someone's private life rather than having someone from there tell us about their village. Also, there was an aggressive dog that approached us and was barking/snarling. Our guide didn't do anything to direct us away from it. Again, it felt like he didn't really want to be there and just wanted to get it over with. It was a shame because the area was beautiful. Our driver was great though (and he ended up being our guide the next day for snorkeling, we wish he had been our guide on this day too)!

Great location. Pool room was wonderful. Easy walking distance to the beach.. Wish we would have had one more day here.

Loved the boutique feel of this resort! Food was very good as well.

We absolutely loved the character of this hotel! Outdoor bath/shower and humidity was a little interesting, but also part of the experience. The butterfly room was incredible. Having 2 rooms for 3 people was nice for space, but also a little challenging for social time. We made it work and would recommend this location to others.

Beautiful hotel, extremely nice and accommodating staff. They offered us a 50% discount to upgrade to a larger tree house room with amazing views. The extra space was well worth the $40/pp per night cost. I would recommend the larger room to others if they look at this hotel.

I wasn't initially thrilled with the 2 am wake up for this, but this ended up being one of my favorite activities. Guide was great, and it was very rewarding.

Great guide, great trip. We very much enjoyed the snorkeling. Water, island and fish were incredible and our guide took amazing photos and pictures we were able to purchase.

Beautiful resort with private accomodations which included an outdoor kitchen/familyroom area and a lovely little pool. It was a good place for us to gather. Our room was very comfortable and the outdoor bathroom was a treat, once we got used to the idea. Even though we were in the city (but close to the beach) there was no traffic noise until we left the grounds. I had arguably the best massage of my life in the spa!

Our room was very comfortable with plenty of space, and the outdoor shower was a nice bonus. We particularly liked the covered front porch that looked out on the beach. The view towards the islands was beautiful. There were 3 restaurant options with different types of cuisine, so we tried them all. Food was delicious! We enjoyed dinner on the beach more than once. I particularly enjoyed the cooking class and our daughter and son-in-law enjoyed the surfing lesson right in front of the resort.

The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Loved the setting and how private and well appointed the cabins were. Even at capacity the resort never felt crowded. There were multiple choices of restaurants and pools to enjoy, and the food was delicious! There were plenty of activities, both at the resort and available in the surrounding area.

We did not stay here , we cancelled weeks before with no refund. Left a very sour taste!! BUT we booked the Majapahit hotel instead which was Amazing , giving it 6 stars!!

We liked the Kecak show. The first half was a slow build-up, but it gets really cool in the second half. Definitely a lot of fun.

The trip to Nusa Penida Island was enjoyable. I would have liked to have had another day to hit all the spots, but we hit the ones we wanted. If you want to see some of the secondary spots, a second day might be nice.

The Vanilla Plantation Trekking at Dukuh Buahan Village was great! I think anyone could do the trekking. Just having a little stamina is enough, and it’s a nice experience for any fitness level.

The bedroom villas are amazing, and the hotel itself is very nice in terms of structure and facilities. Food and cleanliness to be improved

Beautiful and cozy hotel in the middle of the rice fields, just outside Ubud

Peaceful hotel in a stunning location, perfect for 3-4 relaxing days in the Munduk area.

The cooking class was a lot of fun and engaging. We learned quite a lot, including seven recipes with various sauces and desserts. It was really enjoyable, and my wife, the chef of the family, loved it.

Fantastic day with many highlights: the views of Palau Padar, the Komodo dragons, the pink beach and the amazin Gili Lawa.

We had low expectations, and we were pleasently surprised. The house that hosted us is fantastic, and we reallyfelt immersed for a few hours in the Balinese lifestyle, far from the chaos of the turistic locations

Just a wonderful hotel! Would definately come back here and can recommend to all. Our room was outstanding, large with a balcony which had two-directional views out to the ocean and over the forest. The bathrooms were also huge having both a shower and a large bath. The hotel facilities are amazing. the pools, the pier bar and other restaurants were all excellent. The hotel also offers local activities like snorkling and paddleboarding which were fun.

This was a solid hotel in Sanur, a few blocks away from the beach. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The bathrooms were particularly small and each room had a balcony which was not really set up to sit out on since there were no chairs available. The pools were nice and the hotel breakfast was also good.

We loved this hotel and its location in Ubud is also great. The rooms and bathrooms are enormous. The staff are incredibly helpful and the views over the rice paddy are inspiring. The breakfast every morning was lovely and room service was excellent. Would definately recomment this hotel to others.

A reasonably strenuous walk through the jungle (its not flat landscape) but we quickly saw numerous Orangutans and other parimates as well. We then tubed back down the river to get back to our starting point where we then had a cold beer! Clearly one of the highlights of our trip!

Wow, what an absolutely breathtaking hotel! We stayed for 4 unforgettable nights and truly didn't want to leave. Nestled in the most stunning spot in north Bali, this place felt like a hidden gem. Our stay in the Cliff Tent Pool Villa right by the shimmering sea was nothing short of magical. The villa was beautifully designed, and every tiny detail was thoughtfully cared for, creating a space that felt truly special and welcoming. The hotel restaurant was simply incredible! The variety on the menu was extensive, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and passion. The staff were genuinely wonderful—so warm, welcoming, and friendly, making us feel right at home. The surrounding grounds were immaculately maintained and spotless, adding to the overall serenity and beauty. We fell deeply in love with this hotel and, genuinely, didn’t want to leave this paradise!

The hotel is amazing!! When you first get to the parking lot, a golf cart will pick you up and take you to the hotel, which is just about a 5-minute ride. The hotel is set right in the middle of rice fields, making it feel really authentic. We stayed in a bungalow-style room located by the pool which was clean and spacious. All the staff were super welcoming and friendly and the food at the restaurant was incredible!! We were very lucky to have a massage in the spa, a little treat from our travel agent. It was very nice!!

This was genuinely the most incredible snorkeling experience we've ever had! We stopped twice to explore the vibrant underwater spots around the island of Menjangan—each more breathtaking than the last—before sharing a delicious lunch on the island itself. The fish and coral were so bursting with colour and life that it took our breath away; we even had the chance to spot a turtle! It was truly unforgettable and absolutely stunning. One of our guides had a GoPro, capturing our underwater moments in videos and photos, which we were so grateful to be able to purchase afterward. We higly recommend this trip—an adventure that will stay with us forever!

What an unforgettable experience!! We had the most wonderful time ever! Witnessing orangutans in their natural habitat was truly breathtaking! Our guides for the two-day trek were incredibly funny and made the whole experience so much fun. They thoughtfully provided us with food during the day and genuinely looked after us, throughout every step. After five hours of trekking, we finally arrived at the jungle camp, where we were warmly greeted by our amazing guide Windy. She was absolutely incredible, helping us settle in for the night. The evening meal was absolutely delicious and filled us with joy!
