Hi Janet,

Greetings from Jessica.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience!

It was truly a pleasure helping you plan your trip to Seoul. I'm so glad to hear that you felt listened to and that the itinerary reflected what was most important to you. My goal is always to create a trip that suits each traveler's own interests and pace, so it means a lot to know that you enjoyed having the flexibility to explore and relax without feeling rushed.

I also really appreciate your feedback about Orakai Insadong Suites. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location, room options, and service. At the same time, I'm sorry to hear that the cleanliness of your unit didn't meet expectations, especially regarding the condition of the room and the dishes. I'll certainly keep this feedback in mind when recommending accommodations and will share it with the hotel where appropriate.

Thank you again for trusting me with your trip. I hope you came home with wonderful memories of Seoul, and I'd love to help you plan your next adventure like Japan, China, Singapore and more destinations in Asia whenever you're ready!

My two 20ish daughters and I loved our Kim Kim tour of South Korea. I had waited until the last minute to book our tour, and Jessica communicated back and forth with me in a timely manner to decide on the appropriate amount of activities in Seoul, Busan and Jeju. I needed help choosing hotels, and Jessica booked great ones for us! She also chose knowledgeable private tour guides who made our trip fabulous. We really enjoyed her help booking an intimate traditional music concert for us music lovers! We felt especially well taken care of because Jessica booked great transfers, internal flights, and tour guides for us. Thanks Kim Kim.

My two daughters and I loved our three days in Seoul with our Tour Guide Sebastian. Sebastian expertly guided us to the sites we had requested and advised us on the best views. He even took a bunch of photos for us so we have great family pics. Sebastian also gave us great restaurant suggestions. One day, we had outdoor plans, and we were discouraged because it was raining heavily. Sebastian suggested fabulous alternative options so we could make the best of our schedule. One of his ideas was a bird sanctuary. He’d been paying attention and knew we loved birds! He saved the day! Sebastian was fabulous!

Danny was a fabulous tour guide for my daughters and me in Gyeongyu and Busan, South Korea. Danny noticed our interest in some particular historical sites and guided us through a local museum so that we could fully understand the region. It was awesome. He ushered us into a fabulous beef soup restaurant that was both economical and delicious. On our final day in Busan, he made it possible for us to visit the three temples we wanted to see with appropriate pacing for all the hiking. Danny did a great job helping us focus our touring on what we really wanted to see. Danny was a kind, fabulous expert!

Jimmie was an excellent tour guide on Jeju Island. He grew up in Jeju, so he told us about both modern and historical Jeju! He got us addicted to Black Pork and helped us find fabulous restaurants to eat well. Each day, he remained flexible about our plans so that we could enjoy the best activities at the right times of day. Jimmie made us feel like we were his guests in his hometown.

Jeju was our best part of the trip, thanks in part to our guide, Clover. She was interesting, knowledgeable and a joy to be with. She suggested activities to do on our free time, which we also enjoyed.

Overall, we enjoyed being in Korea, but I'm not sure I will use this company again.

Hi Carrie,

Greetings from Jessica.

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with me. I really appreciate you sharing both the positive and negative parts of your experience.

I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed Jeju, and I’m especially glad that Clover was able to make that part of your trip memorable. She is a wonderful guide, and it’s great to hear that her local knowledge and suggestions helped you enjoy your time there.

I’m truly sorry that some other parts of the trip did not go as smoothly as you expected. I understand how disappointing the Lotte World ticket situation must have been, especially when you felt you may not have received the experience you had paid for. I will look into what happened so we can better understand the issue and improve our process.

I’m also sorry to hear about your experience with Jones. Having a guide who makes you feel comfortable and enjoy your day is a very important part of a private tour, and I appreciate you letting us know. I will share your feedback with our local team.

Thank you again for trusting me to help plan your Korea trip. I’m sorry we did not deliver the experience you were hoping for in every part of the journey, but I truly value your feedback and will use it to improve.

I hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back someday and create a much better travel experience for you.

Our first stop was Seoul and our Driver/Guide was Jun and he was so fun that nothing felt awkward. It was more like a friend was showing you around his town. He always had ice cold water waiting for us in the car when he picked us up from each stop along the way.

Our first stop was Soonski Hair Salon in Hongdae. The staff was friendly and the snacks were yummy. The cuts we received were all really well done. However, my stylist changed from the person who cut my hair so they'd never seen my pictures of what I wanted and she didn't speak much at all so it's kind of my fault that my style wasn't at all what I wanted because I didn't speak up. (It was my first day in Korea so I was still nervous about using the little bit of Korean I have!) The problem was when checked out, they'd upsold my daughter with a Keratin treatment that was over 100,000 won without checking with me. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they thought she was older than 16 and was making her own monetary decisions, but if you're taking your kids who don't speak the language make sure your not separated when they're giving them the prices at the start. Also I just noticed that my itinerary says a deposit was taking at the time of booking and that it would be deducted from the total. It definitely was not deducted on the day. The experience was fun and the quality was good, just a few problems that probably could have been avoided if I spoke the language better.

Gyeongbokgung Palace was beautiful, but we didn't have enough time to enjoy it properly. The hanboks we rented had a 3 hour rental, which you'd think would be plenty but it left us rushing back to the shop without having fully enjoyed the palace. Jun was great about getting us a good spot to watch the changing of the guard and making sure we were in the right place to be near the front of the line for pictures afterwards.

Myeongdong was so vibrant and I wish we'd had more time there as well! We did Daiso which people online recommended, honestly it was just a very tall Dollar Tree. We came back in the evening for the night market which was full of yummy things but be prepared- it was busy, so many people that just getting to the stalls and back out of the flow of people was difficult.

Kukkiwon was a fun short stop. They didn't have any practices on the day we went. If I was thinking it would have been better to see if someone could check their schedule for us ahead of time. I did happen to see a post by seoul.tkd on instagram posting a schedule of public Taekwondo displays happening while we were there. We managed to catch the team performing at the DDP and it was amazing! I highly recommend looking into the exhibition schedule if you're interested in Taekwondo.

K-Star Road was cute and quick, all the designer shops with their incredible buildings was actually worth seeing there as well!

HiKR Ground was more than we expected it to be! It wasn't very busy and had lots of kpop dance sets for the kids to dance in. There was a spot for karaoke and when you got to the top there were fun cultural things to do like making layered stamps and finding maps of the area. Definitely worth a stop if you have kids that like kpop. Won't take all day.

A private driver took us from the hotel to the station to catch the KTX to Busan. He was very thorough and walked us all the way through the station with our luggage to make sure we knew where we were going. I think his name was Mr. Choi and my entire family was very impressed with his super cool executive vibe and style.

Hotel B'amu was our favourite hotel. The view, the location, the interior. Everything was amazing and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was the only downside. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a hit but the rest of it left a lot to be desired. I don't know if the breakfast was extra but if it is, opt out and go to one of the many amazing cafes nearby instead. I can highly recommend La Feuille and their amazing salt bread.

Gamcheon Cultural Village was beautiful and our wonderful guide in Busan did a great job of helping us understand the history of the village, how it ties into the Little Prince and it's current situation. I have to say though, (even though we're tourists as well, so it sounds hypocritical) a lot of the tourists in this area were incredibly rude and it was nice that we had Danny on our side to stand up for us!

Spa Land was definitely something worth experiencing and my family is still raving about the tiny fish that nibble your feet! Even if you don't decide to go full au naturel and rest in the baths, there are still plenty of rooms to experience.

We did both BUSAN X the SKY and Busan Tower. They both had their own charm. X was full of kpop stuff and lots of instagrammable spots whereas the Tower was more historical, calm and had resident cats you could pet outside!

The Panstar Miracle from Busan to Osaka was a total experience!! I wish we hadn't been so tired so we could have enjoyed the night view longer. But the on ship buffets and swimming in the pool on deck after sunset were definitely things we'll remember for a long time!

We were uncertain if we needed yet another tall building experience but the tickets had already been purchased for Umeda Sky Building. Thankfully it WAS different. The top is open air so it's a very different experience from the others.

Osaka was our least favorite city on the trip but had the best guide. Mie was so prepared! She had files and photos and knew all the history of the places she took us. I was a history major in university so her level of research was very impressive and made the temples, shrines and castle more interesting than they would have been just reading the signs.

We snuck in a day at Universal Studios and honestly I wish we hadn't. The anime aspect of the park was over hyped and under delivered. It was very much just like a smaller Universal Florida. If I did it again I'd rather experience more of Japan instead.

Nara Park is not to be missed!! Perhaps one of my family's favorite days. The deer were adorable and wonderful and terrifying all at once and I would 100% do it again. Remember to bring plenty of cash for the deer biscuits!

If you have the time I definitely suggest the Tokyo Samurai Museum with Experience + Kimono Tea Ceremony at Tokyo Maikoya. Both completely different experiences and both amazing. The staff here was so friendly and engaging and helpful.

Tokyo Dome was our least favorite hotel and as most of the things we wanted to do were in Shibuya or Shinjuku the location wasn't the best. The area also gets very crowded and overwhelming before and after shows at the Dome, so if you don't plan your timing you might get stuck in the mobs of people.

Meiji Jingu was an amazingly tranquil walk and was beautiful.

Senso-ji Temple was the most capitalist temple I've ever been at... it was definitely overwhelming and didn't feel like a spiritual experience at all, it's definitely touristy. I cannot say we didn't buy souvenirs and street food here though, because we definitely did. Just keep in mind it's more of a sightseeing day than a spiritual one.

CAPPINESS Capybara Cafe. Not a cafe. Not even kinda. There are 3 capybara here, one was kept outside the whole time and they didn't volunteer why. They did seem to be treated well and appeared to be happy. The price of 4,000 yen for 40 minutes is definitely a bit high for what you're getting though. Especially since there were 3 groups of people and only two capybara to interact with.

Ninja+Kabuki Tokyo. This was such a cool show!! They have an interactive portion at the end for you to come up on stage and try out some of the moves if you're interested. The drummers were incredible and they had one performer who was a total acrobat and was flipping everywhere. I'm not sure why we had a bar hopping experience connected to the end of ours but we have kids so it wasn't something we were interested in. Just make sure if you get this booking that it only for the show unless you're interested in the bar hopping part.

Tokyo Dome Hotel
Tokyo

Tokyo Dome Hotel was disappointing. The check-in process was confusing and frustrating, especially with two connecting rooms. The standard room was unimpressive and lacked amenities like soda or alcohol in the fridge, contrary to what the website said. However, after contacting the agency, they helped us move to a premium floor, which was much nicer. The location was not practical as it was far from the main areas we wanted to visit. The area also gets really busy because of the events at the Tokyo Dome. I would stay somewhere more central like Shibuya or Shinjuku next time.

Bamu Hotel in Busan was our favorite hotel by far. The room was amazing with a view of the beach and a big spa in the middle of the room. The staff was really friendly, and even though it was a small hotel, everyone was very welcoming. The location was ideal. Directly on the beach with loads of restaurants and cafes nearby. If we make it back I'm going to make sure we stay over a Saturday so we can see the drone show over the beach. The breakfast was the only downside. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a hit but the rest of it left a lot to be desired. The Ninja+Kabuki Tokyo show was great and the kids enjoyed it. However, the address provided in the itinerary was incorrect, which caused us to spend a lot of time finding the location. Also, the booking included a bar hopping tour that was not suitable for our family and was not mentioned in the itinerary.

Our tour guide Jino in Busan was the best and by the time the day was done, we felt like he was a member of our family! We visited four cities in Japan and Jessica tailored our visits to each city perfectly. All of our tour guides and drivers were wonderful and so genuinely sweet and helpful. The transportation and transfers were smooth and flawless, and we appreciated not having to worry about a thing! The hotels that Jessica booked were top notch and she situated us in the best parts of town. We loved being able to walk around the areas and shop find food quickly for some late night snacks or early coffee runs. Jessica allocated the perfect amount of time at each site we visited and we were able to do so much during our trip, and we quickly realized we could not have planned such an amazing trip without her. I highly, highly recommend KimKim and our specialist Jessica. This was the most memorable trip and truly the trip of a lifetime.

Our guides, Jinny and Heather, were simply outstanding — among the best we've ever had anywhere in the world. Both were warm, endlessly patient, and genuinely sweet to be around. They had a real gift for sharing Korea's culture, food, and history in a way that felt personal rather than rehearsed, and their enthusiasm was contagious. He took us to burial mounds, museums, and temples in Gyeongju and drove us to Busan, where we saw the fish market (possibly my wife's favorite event of the trip), Gamcheon Village, and markets and towers and the coast. On Jeju Island, we were escorted by Jimmie Koh, the son of a sea woman diver who took us to watch these remarkable people in action. Jimmie accommodated our challenges as 60-something tourists in leading us up 500 steps to the top of Sunrise Peak, and he catered to my background in geology by showing us the largest lava tube in the world and columnar basalts on the coast. Next, Jade Kim took us to Haeinsa Temple near Daegu. That was my favorite temple in South Korea, and Jade expertly described its importance in the history - and present practice - of Buddhism. All of our guides took us to amazing restaurants, and we felt that we sampled a lot of different cuisines by the end of the trip.

I was most impressed that Christine managed to weave our trip within the constraints of a separate itinerary that my student created. We were able to meet my student and his family at the beginning of the trip and to attend his spectacular wedding at the end, and the kimkim trip meshed perfectly with that. Most important, at every transfer, the kimkim drivers and guides were there to meet us, and Christine responded quickly to every email request.

Your kind words mean the world to me, and I’d be honored to help you explore again someday.

As a first-time visitor to South Korea, I arrived with excitement, curiosity, and a carefully planned itinerary. Like many travelers, I wanted to see the highlights, try the food, learn about the culture, and make the most of every day.

What I did not expect was how deeply this country would affect me.

South Korea surprised me.

Not only through its history, landscapes, and traditions, but through the kindness of its people, the pride they take in their culture, and the way they welcomed visitors with warmth and sincerity.

As someone accustomed to a fast-paced lifestyle, I often find myself moving from one destination to the next without fully appreciating where I am. This journey challenged that habit. It encouraged me to slow down, observe, ask questions, and become fully present.

Looking back, that may be the greatest gift this trip gave me.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Ms. Christine. Throughout the planning process and during my travels, she remained attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in ensuring I had a wonderful experience. International travel can sometimes feel overwhelming, but Ms. Christine’s guidance, patience, and professionalism helped create a sense of confidence and reassurance throughout my journey.

I would also like to recognize the exceptional transportation specialists who played an important role in making this experience seamless.

Mr. Kim in Seoul and Mr. Oh in Jeju consistently demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and genuine care throughout my travels. Arriving in a new country can be intimidating, especially when navigating airports, accommodations, and unfamiliar surroundings. Both gentlemen ensured every transfer was smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. Their kindness and attention to detail allowed me to focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about logistics.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to the accommodations that welcomed me throughout my journey.

ENA Suite Hotel in Seoul provided a wonderful introduction to South Korea. The property was comfortable, conveniently located, and served as an excellent home base while exploring the city. After full days of sightseeing and cultural experiences, returning to a welcoming and well-maintained hotel added greatly to the overall enjoyment of my stay.

I would also like to thank Shilla Stay Plus Jeju for an exceptional hospitality experience. The accommodations, atmosphere, and attentiveness of the staff contributed significantly to my time on the island. Their professionalism and care created a relaxing environment that allowed me to fully appreciate the beauty of Jeju. Every interaction reflected the warmth and hospitality that I encountered throughout South Korea.

One of the greatest strengths of this journey was the quality of the guides who helped bring South Korea to life.

Ms. Sophia provided an exceptional introduction to Korean culture and city life. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and welcoming, helping transform Seoul from a destination I had only read about into a city I could truly appreciate and understand. Her enthusiasm for Korean culture was contagious, and her guidance created a wonderful foundation for the rest of my journey.

My experience with Mr. Simon was equally memorable. His professionalism, organization, and historical expertise elevated every location we visited. Mr. Simon has a remarkable ability to communicate information in a way that is both educational and enjoyable. His passion for history and culture allowed visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the places we explored while still having a wonderful time.

Jeju Island ultimately became the highlight of my South Korea journey, and much of that was due to the incredible guides who introduced me to different sides of the island.

Mr. Zin guided my East Coast Jeju tour and provided an outstanding experience. His energy, attentiveness, and passion for Jeju were evident from the very beginning. Whether helping guests capture beautiful photographs, explaining local history, or ensuring everyone felt included, he consistently went above and beyond. Through his guidance, I experienced locations such as Hamdeok Beach, Seongeup Folk Village, Seongsan Ilchulbong, and Manjanggul Cave in ways that made them both memorable and meaningful.

My South West Jeju experience with Mr. Jay left an especially lasting impression.

While every guide throughout my journey was exceptional, Mr. Jay had a unique ability to transform sightseeing into understanding. His explanations of Jeju’s geology, traditions, culture, language, and natural wonders allowed me to experience the island through an entirely different lens.

From Hallasan’s 1100 Altitude Wetland and Jusangjeolli Cliff to Songaksan Mountain and Bomunsa Temple, every stop felt connected to a larger story about Jeju itself. One of the most fascinating lessons involved Jeju’s oreum, often referred to as parasitic or satellite volcanic cones. What initially appeared to be beautiful scenery became a deeper lesson about the island’s remarkable geological history.

Small details became meaningful discoveries. Learning why Jeju’s hydrangeas bloom in different colors depending on soil conditions and learning the Korean word for hydrangea, 수국 (Suguk), transformed simple observations into cultural experiences.

Perhaps the greatest gift Mr. Jay gave our group was the opportunity to slow down. In a world that constantly encourages us to move faster, see more, and rush from one attraction to another, he encouraged curiosity, observation, and presence. Before this trip, Jeju was simply a destination on my itinerary. Afterward, it became a place I hope to return to.

One of the unexpected highlights of this journey was discovering how differently each region of South Korea made me feel.

Seoul energized me.

Its pace, innovation, and vibrancy demonstrated how a nation can honor its traditions while embracing the future.

The historical sites humbled me.

Learning about Korea’s resilience, sacrifices, and preservation of its cultural identity gave me a deeper appreciation for the country and its people.

Jeju changed me.

As someone accustomed to a busy lifestyle, I often find myself moving quickly from one destination to the next, focused on seeing as much as possible. Jeju invited me to do the opposite.

It encouraged me to slow down.

To observe.

To ask questions.

To appreciate the details.

To simply be present.

Whether I was admiring hydrangeas blooming along the roadside, learning about volcanic oreum, enjoying a local meal, walking along a coastal trail, or listening to stories shared by local guides, I found myself experiencing travel differently than I had before.

I visited Jeju during hydrangea season and witnessed the island dressed in remarkable shades of blue, lavender, pink, and violet. The scenery was breathtaking, but what remained with me most was not a photograph or a landmark.

It was a feeling.

A feeling of connection—to nature, to culture, and to the present moment.

Jeju is an alluring and majestic wonder, captivating visitors not through spectacle alone, but through its rare ability to inspire awe, curiosity, reflection, and peace.

Some destinations impress you for a moment.

Jeju stays with you long after you leave.

Before this trip, Jeju was simply a destination on my itinerary.

After this trip, it became a place I hope to return to.

One of the lessons I took away from this journey is that travel is about far more than transportation, accommodations, and itineraries.

Beautiful destinations can be researched.

Flights can be booked.

Hotels can be reserved.

What cannot be replicated so easily are the people who transform a destination into a meaningful experience.

Throughout my journey, I benefited from the knowledge, passion, local insight, hospitality, and genuine human connection provided by the individuals who helped bring South Korea to life.

That, to me, is the true value of travel.

The destinations were beautiful.

The experiences were memorable.

But it was the people who transformed this journey into something unforgettable.

To Ms. Christine, Mr. Kim, Mr. Oh, Ms. Sophia, Mr. Simon, Mr. Zin, and Mr. Jay—thank you.

You did not simply help me travel through South Korea.

You helped me experience it.

A piece of my heart will forever remain in South Korea, and especially on Jeju Island.

Whether I was visiting cultural sites, exploring the city, or simply taking in the energy of Seoul, ENA Suite Hotel served as the perfect base for my adventures. The accommodations were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully maintained. After spending full days walking throughout Seoul, it was always comforting to return to a quiet and relaxing environment. The hotel provided exactly what a traveler hopes for—comfort, reliability, and peace of mind. What stood out most, however, was the professionalism and hospitality of the staff. Every interaction was pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. As an international traveler navigating a new country, those small moments of kindness made a meaningful difference. Seoul is a vibrant and energetic city, and ENA Suite Hotel complemented that experience perfectly. It provided the comfort, convenience, and hospitality that allowed me to fully enjoy my time in South Korea. Thank you for helping make my first visit to Seoul such a memorable experience.

Authenticity & Character
What gives ENA Suite Hotel its unique character and charm is the contrast between its exterior and interior. From the outside, it appears to be a modern hotel seamlessly integrated into the city landscape. However, once inside, guests are welcomed into a space that feels elegant, inviting, and beautifully designed. One of the most memorable areas of the property was the second-floor restaurant. The atmosphere was absolutely exceptional, with stunning décor, thoughtful design, and a refined ambiance that elevated the entire experience. It felt both sophisticated and comfortable—a space where guests could relax, unwind, and appreciate the beauty of their surroundings. Throughout the hotel, there is a sense of authenticity and attention to detail that gives the property its distinctive personality. Every space feels intentionally designed, creating an environment that is both charming and welcoming. ENA Suite Hotel is beautiful inside and out. Beyond its comfort, cleanliness, and excellent location, it possesses a character that makes it memorable long after your stay has ended.

The staff at ENA Suite Hotel were truly exceptional. Throughout my stay, they consistently demonstrated professionalism, attentiveness, and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Every interaction was welcoming, courteous, and efficient, reflecting a level of customer service that exceeded my expectations. One experience in particular left a lasting impression. On the morning of one of my tours, I needed assistance booking a taxi. One of the hotel associates patiently took the time to help me navigate the process. Due to my location and the early hour, several taxi requests were initially unsuccessful. Rather than giving up, she remained persistent and continued working to secure transportation on my behalf. Her tenacity paid off. Once the taxi was confirmed, she promptly informed me, provided the booking details, and ensured I had everything I needed. While I stepped outside to enjoy the morning sunshine, she continued monitoring the reservation and kept me updated on the driver’s arrival time. What could have been a stressful situation became effortless because of her dedication and professionalism. Her willingness to go above and beyond was a perfect example of the exceptional hospitality I experienced throughout my stay. It was clear that the staff genuinely cared about their guests and took pride in providing outstanding service. For future travelers, you can feel confident knowing that the team at ENA Suite Hotel is not only professional and knowledgeable but also willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is comfortable, seamless, and memorable.

The overall condition of ENA Suite Hotel was truly impressive. Throughout my stay, the property remained spotless, impeccably maintained, and exceptionally clean. From the guest rooms to the common areas, every space reflected a high standard of care and attention to detail. It was easy to understand why ENA Suite Hotel is so highly regarded by travelers. The staff’s commitment to maintaining the property’s charm, comfort, and cleanliness was evident in every aspect of the guest experience. There was a consistent sense of pride in the way the hotel was presented and cared for, creating an environment that felt both welcoming and refined. Comfort and cleanliness are often what travelers remember most, and ENA Suite Hotel excelled in both areas. The hotel has successfully created a space that is not only beautiful and comfortable but also exceptionally well maintained. In my opinion, its dedication to hospitality, guest comfort, and cleanliness makes it truly deserving of the outstanding reputation it has earned.

Whether listening to the soothing sounds of the sea, feeling the ocean breeze, or simply taking in the surrounding natural beauty, the property offered a peaceful opportunity to reconnect with nature and experience Jeju’s remarkable environment at a slower pace.

Jeju Western & Southern Routes Sightseeing Day Tour
Jeju Western & Southern Routes Sightseeing Day Tour
Jeju Island

Of all the experiences I had in South Korea, this tour became the one I will remember most. I booked the South West Jeju Tour expecting scenic viewpoints, beautiful photographs, and a pleasant day of sightseeing. Instead, I found myself completely captivated by an island I knew very little about and guided by someone whose passion for Jeju transformed every stop into an unforgettable experience. By the end of the day, I was no longer simply visiting Jeju. I was falling in love with it. As travelers, many of us arrive at destinations carrying the weight of busy lives. We rush from place to place, trying to see everything, photograph everything, and experience everything. In doing so, we sometimes forget to slow down long enough to truly appreciate where we are. Mr. Jay, together with Yeha Tour and Kim Kim Travel, gave me the opportunity to do exactly that. They allowed me to pause. To learn. To reflect. To be fully present. And because of that, Jeju became far more than a destination on a map. That transformation began with Mr. Jay. There are guides who tell you where to go. There are guides who explain what you are seeing. Then there are rare individuals who change the way you experience a destination entirely. Mr. Jay belongs in that final category. From the moment our journey began at Mt. Halla’s 1100 Altitude Wetland, it became clear that this would not be an ordinary tour. What initially appeared to be a beautiful mountain landscape quickly became a lesson in ecology, volcanic history, and the unique environmental conditions that make Jeju unlike anywhere else on Earth. At Jusangjeolli Cliff, I stood in awe of nature’s artistry. The volcanic columns were breathtaking, but what impressed me most was how Mr. Jay transformed a scenic overlook into a story. Suddenly, these were not simply rocks. They were evidence of powerful geological forces that had shaped an entire island and its people. The same was true at Cheonjeyeon Waterfall. Many visitors see a waterfall. Mr. Jay helped us understand its place within the larger story of Jeju. What separates this tour from many others is that Mr. Jay does not simply tell you where to look—he teaches you what you are looking at and why it matters. One of the most fascinating lessons of the day involved Jeju’s oreum, often referred to as parasitic or satellite volcanic cones. Before arriving in Jeju, I would have admired them as beautiful hills in the distance. After listening to Mr. Jay’s explanations, I understood them as living chapters of the island’s geological history. As the day progressed, I found myself viewing Mr. Jay less as a tour guide and more as a professor of Jeju itself. Not because he lectured, but because he taught. He taught us how volcanic oreum shaped the island’s landscape. He taught us why Jeju’s hydrangeas bloom in such remarkable colors and how the soil beneath them influences their appearance. He taught us Korean words, local traditions, geological history, and cultural perspectives that transformed ordinary sightseeing into meaningful understanding. What impressed me most was that every lesson felt natural. Nothing felt rehearsed. Nothing felt memorized. Instead, it felt as though we were being introduced to Jeju by someone who genuinely loved the island and wanted others to understand why. By the end of the day, I realized that Mr. Jay had accomplished something rare. He had not simply shown us Jeju. He had taught us how to see it. Lunch at the Well-being Korean Buffet became another memorable highlight. I had the opportunity to try both Jeju’s famous hairtail fish and the boiled pork, and I genuinely enjoyed both. The hairtail fish introduced me to one of Jeju’s beloved local specialties, while the boiled pork wrapped in fresh perilla leaves and paired with kimchi quickly became a personal favorite. Rather than rushing through the meal, I took my time savoring every bite. Travel teaches us through landscapes and landmarks, but Jeju also teaches through food. Finishing the meal with Korea’s famous instant coffee while reflecting on the day felt like a small but perfect cultural experience. Then came one of the most unexpected highlights of the tour. Because our group consistently arrived on time throughout the day, Mr. Jay surprised us with a bonus foot bath experience. What could have been a small gesture became one of my favorite memories. After spending the morning exploring wetlands, waterfalls, cliffs, and volcanic landscapes, the opportunity to sit, relax, and simply appreciate the journey felt incredibly rewarding. It was thoughtful, restorative, and completely unexpected. More importantly, it reflected the care Mr. Jay puts into creating memorable experiences rather than simply moving guests from one attraction to another. Following this bonus experience, we continued to O’sulloc Green Tea Field. The tea fields stretched across the landscape with remarkable elegance. There was a peaceful quality to the entire setting that encouraged visitors to slow down and appreciate the beauty around them. If there was one place where I wished I could have stayed longer, it would have been here. I found myself wanting to learn more about the tea-making process, the products, and the philosophy behind creating such a tranquil environment. As we continued to Songaksan Mountain, Jeju revealed yet another side of itself. The coastal trail offered sweeping ocean views, dramatic volcanic terrain, and endless horizons. Standing there overlooking the sea, I finally understood why so many people fall in love with Jeju. Jeju is an alluring and majestic wonder, captivating visitors not through spectacle alone, but through its rare ability to inspire awe, curiosity, reflection, and a profound sense of peace. Some destinations impress you for a moment. Jeju stays with you long after you leave. One of the most enchanting aspects of my visit was experiencing Jeju during hydrangea season. It felt as though the island had dressed itself in celebration. Hydrangeas flourished naturally along roadsides, throughout villages, near gardens, and across the countryside in stunning shades of blue, lavender, violet, pink, and white. Learning that the flowers naturally change color according to soil composition made them even more fascinating. Mr. Jay also taught us the Korean word for hydrangea: 수국 (Suguk). That small lesson perfectly captures what made this tour exceptional. A flower became a lesson in language. Language became a connection to culture. Culture became a deeper appreciation for Jeju itself. Witnessing the hydrangeas in full bloom felt like receiving a gift from the island. Our final stop at Bomunsa Temple beneath the magnificent Sanbangsan Mountain provided the perfect conclusion to an extraordinary day. Standing there surrounded by beauty, history, and tranquility, I realized something important. Before this tour, Jeju was a destination on my itinerary. After this tour, Jeju became a place I hope to return to. In a world that constantly encourages us to move faster, see more, and rush from one attraction to the next, Mr. Jay created space for something different. He encouraged curiosity. He encouraged observation. He encouraged presence. For a first-time visitor navigating a new destination, that gift proved just as valuable as the attractions themselves. The greatest lesson of the day was not found at a cliff, waterfall, temple, tea field, or mountain trail. It was learning to slow down long enough to truly experience Jeju. What impressed me most about Mr. Jay was not only his extraordinary knowledge but his sincere affection for the island. Originally from Busan, he found his roots in Jeju and now speaks about it with genuine admiration, pride, and respect. His enthusiasm is contagious. His storytelling is captivating. His knowledge is exceptional. Most importantly, his ability to help others understand Jeju is a rare gift. If Jeju Island were ever searching for someone capable of conveying its beauty, richness, culture, history, and spirit to the world, Mr. Jay would be an exceptional choice. He does not simply guide visitors through Jeju. He introduces them to its soul. If you are considering this tour, stop debating and book it. The scenery is extraordinary. The food is delicious. The locations are unforgettable. But the true value of this experience is gaining an understanding of Jeju that many visitors never have the opportunity to discover. Because of Mr. Jay, I did not simply see Jeju. I understood it. I learned from it. I experienced it. And somewhere between the wetlands of Hallasan, the volcanic cliffs, the tea fields, the hydrangea-lined roads, the coastal trails, the temple beneath Sanbangsan, and the stories that brought them all to life, I fell deeply in love with Jeju Island. A piece of my heart will forever remain there. Thank you, Mr. Jay. You did not simply provide a tour. You gave me a new way of seeing one of the most extraordinary places I have ever visited. P.S. One of my favorite surprises of the South West Jeju Tour was the bonus foot bath experience. It was such a relaxing and memorable addition to the day that I found myself wishing we could have spent a little more time there. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to include a brief introduction to the history of the traditional foot bath, the tea products used during the experience, how the tea bags are prepared, and the intended uses or benefits of the products available. As someone who enjoys learning about local traditions and wellness practices, I would have loved the opportunity to learn more. The experience was wonderful as it was—I simply enjoyed it so much that it left me wanting to know more.

Quality of Experience
This was one of the most enriching experiences of my time in Jeju. The tour offered a wonderful balance of nature, culture, history, and relaxation. From Hallasan’s 1100 Altitude Wetland and Jusangjeolli Cliff to Cheonjeyeon Waterfall, O’sulloc Green Tea Field, Songaksan Mountain, and Bomunsa Temple, each stop felt meaningful and thoughtfully selected. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Jeju Island than I had before the tour.
Guides, Drivers and Staff
Mr. Jay was exceptional. His knowledge of Jeju’s history, geology, traditions, and culture transformed the tour from sightseeing into a true learning experience. I especially enjoyed learning about Jeju’s oreum (parasitic volcanic cones), hydrangeas, and the unique characteristics that make the island so special. His passion for Jeju was evident throughout the day, and it was clear that he genuinely wanted visitors to experience and appreciate the island as much as he does. Transportation throughout the South West Jeju Tour was excellent. The driver was exceptionally professional, and I always felt safe and comfortable traveling between destinations. Jeju's roads include winding coastal routes, mountain roads, and scenic turns, yet every journey felt smooth and well managed. The ride itself became part of the experience, allowing us to appreciate the island's beautiful landscapes while traveling comfortably from one location to the next. The coordination between the driver and guide was seamless, ensuring we arrived safely and on time at every destination. One thing that stood out to me was the energy throughout the day. Despite a full itinerary, the tour remained engaging from beginning to end. No one seemed eager to sleep through the ride because there was always something beautiful to see, learn, or anticipate around the next corner. That is a testament not only to the breathtaking scenery of Jeju but also to the professionalism of the driver and the overall quality of the tour experience.
Transport
Transportation was comfortable, organized, and punctual throughout the entire tour. The schedule flowed smoothly, allowing us to maximize our time at each destination while still feeling relaxed and unhurried. I especially appreciated how well the day was coordinated, making it easy to focus on enjoying the experience and learning about Jeju.

This was so much fun! The cooking portion was great (as expected), but it was so much more than that. We learned some Korean language, history and customs that really made the experience come to life.

His English was impeccable, as we speak no Korean this was important. He allowed us to flex the schedule to our needs and desires. He took a lot of photos to commemorate the tour with my camera and his and shared all of his photos. I would highly recommend Jun of you are visiting South Korea.

Nice hotel on the beach. We had a wonderful ocean view with a terrace. They close all pools daily at 11:10-11:30 for cleaning. That was inconvenient as they don’t even allow you to stay in the pool area at that time.

Hi Connie,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback.

I'm really happy to hear that your journey through South Korea went so well and that the itinerary worked out exactly as you had hoped after our planning process. It was truly a pleasure working with you over the months to design the trip.

I also appreciate your honest note regarding my responsiveness during the trip. Since your travel dates fell over a weekend, I understand there may have been a slight delay in my replies at times. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I will certainly take this as feedback to improve our communication even further going forward.

Most importantly, I’m absolutely delighted to hear your kind words about Jun. He really is an exceptional guide, and I will make sure to pass along your feedback to him—I'm sure he will be very happy to hear it.

Thank you again for your recommendation. It means a lot, and I hope we have the opportunity to help you plan another journey in the future.

Warm regards,
Christine

Jessica was very responsive and professional, and our tour guide Nammin was excellent and performed all his duties as well as going above and beyond. Based on price, and compared to past trips, we felt this trip paled in comparison to other Kimkim trips we took. It was very expensive for what we got. The hotels were subpar, the activities outside Nammin's were "self-guided" instead of a local expert. In the past it seemed like maybe there was a guide, but outside the guide there were local experts and expert knowledge of the areas of what to spend you extra time doing. That did not seem to be the case here. This was a 14 - 16 day trip and we did not feal Nammin's tour was supplemented with the extra customization and expertise Kimkim should be capable of, based on our desired activities (culinary, hiking, etc.). Even in a group bus tour, the guide does not do everything. That's unreasonable. There are local activities and experts. Its not a one-man-show. Is Nammin supposed to do a Korean cooking class? We want to stress that Nammin was an awesome guide and we felt at all times we could count on him for any need.

Hi Tyler,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate your kind words about me, and I’m especially glad to hear that Nammin was such a reliable and attentive guide. I’ll be sure to pass along your compliments to him.

I also understand your concerns about value, hotel quality, and the mix of guided versus self-guided experiences. The trip was designed to include both Nammin’s guidance and some self-guided activities, but I can see how it didn’t fully meet your expectations in terms of local expertise and extra touches.

Your comparison to previous kimkim trips is very helpful. I understand now that more local experts or specialized experiences would have added more depth, especially for culinary and hiking activities.

I’ll take this feedback to heart and make sure future itineraries are clearer about what is guided and where local experts are involved.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience—it’s really valuable, and I appreciate your honest feedback.

Best regards,
Jessica

Our second day with Luke was amazing! He showed us so much of what Busan had to offer and even adjusted our schedule to see some new things that weren't on the itinerary because we had already explored some on our own. He showed us some of the best food we had on our trip. We could not recommend a tour with Luke more!

Luke was the best tour guide ever! We had such an amazing couple days with him - when it was rainy he suggested a different indoor activity at an art museum and it was the perfect alternative to being outside in the rain. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. We couldn't have asked for a better guide!
