What you'll do

Your full-day private excursion of Cape Town, Robben Island, and Table Mountain will likely kick off between 8-9 am after you've had your breakfast. Your guide may pick you up from your hotel to begin visiting the sites that interest you most. You can start your journey with a visit to the Malay Quarter, a vibrant neighborhood known for its colorful houses and Cape Malay culture. From there, you might head toward the bustling Cape Town city center, stopping to enjoy the beautiful and historical Company Gardens.

After taking in your share of lush greenery, you can continue your tour to Greenmarket Square, a bustling market filled with all sorts of African curios and local artwork. Your cultural journey can proceed with a visit to the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest colonial building in South Africa. The Castle offers an in-depth look at Cape Town's past and is filled with historical tales and architectural wonders. Afterward, you can embark on a return boat trip across Table Bay, heading toward the historic Robben Island.

On Robben Island, the very place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years during Apartheid, you can visit the historical Maximum-Security Prison. A guided walk with an ex-political prisoner may give you a firsthand account of the prison's history and the struggles endured by its inmates. Lastly, perhaps you'll journey to Table Mountain, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Here, you can ascend the mountain by cable car, taking in the panoramic views of Cape Town and its surrounding areas.

Once you reach the summit, you'll likely have ample time to take in the sights, snap photos, and enjoy the region's natural beauty. As your day of exploration concludes, your guide may drop you back at your hotel around 5 or 6 pm. This excursion is an excellent option if you have limited time in the city but still want to see many notable sites.
