Born and raised in Ecuador, I’ve enjoyed exploring every corner of my beautiful country, always seeking out its hidden gems. What drives me is simple: I want to create unforgettable experiences for every traveler, moments that leave a lasting impact.
For me, travel is more than just visiting new places; it’s about building meaningful connections, embracing diverse cultures, and creating memories that stay with you forever. With honesty, passion, and a heart dedicated to service, I strive to make every journey as extraordinary and authentic as the people I guide.
I’m proud to be part of a company. which is deeply committed to generating positive social and environmental impact. Working for an organization that values sustainability, community, and responsible tourism is both inspiring and fulfilling.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improvement, we’ve achieved several important international certifications, including Travelife, TourCert, and participation in the UN Global Compact. These milestones reflect our dedication to making travel a force for good for people, places, and the planet.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in crafting personalized itineraries that highlight the diverse beauty of Ecuador. In the Andes, hiking around the majestic Cotopaxi volcano is always a highlight, while Yasuni National Park in the Amazon offers a profound connection to nature and indigenous cultures. The Galapagos Islands never fail to amaze me with their wildlife and crystal-clear waters, and Cuenca, with its colonial charm and breathtaking landscapes, captures the essence of Ecuador’s rich history. Each region offers something special, and I’m passionate about sharing these unforgettable experiences with others.
"
How did you get involved in travel?
"My travel journey started when I had the chance to explore different regions within Ecuador and later extended to other parts of Latin America. However, it was my two years living in Canada that truly ignited my passion for travel. During that time, I had the privilege of meeting people from all around the world, learning about their cultures, and making lifelong friendships. It was through these connections that I realized how powerful travel can be, not just as a way to see new places, but as a way to understand the world and connect with others on a deeper level. That’s when my love for travel truly took root, and I knew I wanted to share these experiences with others."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"One of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve had was visiting Yasuni National Park in Ecuador. It wasn’t just a trip to a beautiful natural reserve; it was a profound journey into the heart of Indigenous culture. I had the privilege of learning from the native communities living there, and gaining insight into their traditions, values, and way of life. Their deep, unshakable bond with the land and nature was nothing short of inspiring. As I spent time with them, I developed a deep appreciation for their sustainable practices and their unwavering respect for the environment. This wasn’t just about exploring the jungle, it was about understanding a lifestyle that lives in harmony with nature. That experience shifted my perspective and ignited a passion in me to share these extraordinary cultural connections with others."

Mercure Alameda Quito

The common areas and restaurant were good. The breakfast buffet was good. The restaurant wait staff were a bit slow and forgot about my wine one night.
My room was cold - no thermostat - though it was fine for sleeping. The room looked worn. Lighting was poor. There needed to be more coffee in the room. We asked Housekeeping for 2 packets and they brought one. I called Housekeeping the next night and they never answered. I called the front desk and they said they would get some coffee sent up - never happened.

Clean, cute and breakfast server was very nice. I liked that we were able to utilize the pool area and 2nd floor balcony for our group gatherings.
Kitchen noise (talking and chopping) were easily heard in the rooms above.
One key is not enough. Two should be available.
Offer wine in addition to beer.
An elevator is needed. It was difficult for two of our travelers.
There should be a Do Not Disturb sign for when you don't want your room cleaned.
The window above the patio door emitted light because there was no way to cover it up. Thus causing us to wake sooner than desired.

The water isn't clear so it was difficult to see anything under the water. Some of us were able to make out a shark and we could see sea turtles only when they popped their head out. Still, it was fun to kayak and to see the pelicans.
The walk was very enjoyable stopping to learn about the area, see the fauna, marine iguanas and the mocking birds. The white sand is beautiful and a delight to walk on.

Only 4 stars because the restaurant wasn't ready for us (not sure of the reason) BUT they recovered well and gave it their best. For that, I appreciate them.

I say this because poor Lenet Compton spent far too much time communicating with Karla on the phone and then having collect cash daily from all us individual travelers. I don't believe that this was Lenet's job. Moreover, she had to differentiate between drivers and the guides, and how mch each should receive in tips. It was difficult to see all the time and effort that Lenet had to make.

Hello Valdi,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. I truly appreciate it.
I would also love to hear how the overall trip felt for you and the group. Your impressions are very important to me.
Regarding the points you mentioned:
TCT Card:
The TCT (Transit Control Card) is a local requirement set by the Galápagos authorities. Each traveler must obtain it individually to enter the islands. As you may have noticed at the beginning of the itinerary, the TCT is clearly listed as not included; for this reason, every member of the group needed to complete it personally.
We always offer two ways to do it, online before traveling, or directly at the airport with assistance (Which I also mentioned that we can proceed with this option if needed) . I completely understand that the process can feel a bit hectic, but unfortunately, this is a local regulation that neither Kimkim nor I can change.
Tips:
Regarding tipping, Kimkim (and we as organizers) cannot include or pre-charge tips. As I explained to Lenet, tipping is not mandatory in mainland Ecuador nor in the Galápagos. It is entirely voluntary and based on your personal experience. You could choose to tip individually or as a group, but again, this is something that remains at the discretion of each traveler.
I sincerely hope that despite these small details, you and the group enjoyed the experience and created beautiful memories together.
It was truly an honor to be part of this journey with you all. 💛
Warm regards,
Karla

Sebastian met us at the airport in Quito and drove us to our hotel (La Casona de la Ronda – excellent, recommended) in the city. The next day he took us to the Middle of the World where we toured the museum and visited the actual equator line. This was fun and informative and the museum tour guide was very good. Afterwards, we drove back to the city and Sebastian led us on a fascinating and informative walking tour, stopping for lunch in the afternoon.
Next day Sebastian drove us out to Otavalo, stopping at a rose farm on the way. We participated in a cooking class in Claudia’s house. She was very hospitable and it was great fun picking herbs and vegetables in her garden and preparing a traditional Ecuadorian lunch. Then we drove back to the city, stopping to visit the market in Otavalo and, briefly, for traditional bizcocha cookies.
Next morning we took a short flight to Coca and a three-hour boat trip along the Napo River and tributaries to Sani Lodge. Our guide for this portion of the trip, Raul, met us at the Coca Airport. The boat ride was fascinating and we began to feel as if we were in an entirely different universe. Sani Lodge is owned and operated by the Kichwa Indigenous People. Everyone working there made as feel so welcome and seemed to be incredibly proud of their heritage and their accomplishments.
We traveled with Raul, assistant guide Pato, and two other guests on several trips in a small canoe during the next three days observing the lush and dense rainforest and spotting innumerable birds, monkeys and other creatures. Sometimes we hiked on muddy trails, sometimes we went out after dark to experience the night time sounds of the rainforest, and sometimes it rained quite heavily. On one trip we visited a small Kichwa settlement. The inhabitants were very gracious, sharing knowledge about their simple and humble lives and teaching us some traditional cooking skills. Raul’s knowledge of the ecosystem and it’s plants and animals was remarkable and he was ably assisted by Pato. Accommodations at the lodge were excellent and the food was very good. The entire experience was wonderful and truly exceeded our expectations.
After our three-day stay, we returned by boat to Coca, then flew to Quito to await our flight home. We enjoyed this trip greatly and learned so much. Very highly recommended.
