Sebastian Prino

Hi,
My name is Sebastian, a travel agent specializing in France, with a particular focus on outdoor and gastronomic activities. I believe that traveling should be more than just visiting popular tourist destinations; it should be an immersive journey that connects people with the heart and soul of a place. I take pride in crafting itineraries that combine the breathtaking landscapes of France with its rich culinary traditions, ensuring that each trip is a unique and delicious adventure. Whether it's exploring the vineyards of Bordeaux, hiking in the picturesque Alps, or savoring the finest French cuisine in charming bistros, I'm dedicated to creating tailor-made journeys that leave a lasting impression.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I specialize in crafting travel experiences primarily within France.

My expertise extends to the entire country, thanks to my extensive travels throughout its diverse regions. While living in Marseille, I am particularly well-equipped to organize tailor-made trips in the beautiful South of France, which allows me to create unique and personalized itineraries that showcase the culture, landscapes, and hidden gems of the region.

Whether it's the enchanting Provence, the glamorous French Riviera, or the picturesque countryside of the Dordogne, I can design trips that cater to a wide range of interests and preferences.

My aim is to provide the best activities and itineraries for everyone, ensuring that each journey in France is an unforgettable experience."

How did you get involved in travel?

"I was sparked by a life-changing experience. At the age of 20, I embarked on a two-month journey across Europe, and during that trip, I fell in love with the world. The diverse cultures, the rich history, and the breathtaking landscapes I encountered ignited a deep fascination with exploring the globe and it hidden treasures.

This profound connection to travel inspired me to pursue it as a career. After my journey, I decided to formalize my knowledge and commitment to the industry. I enrolled in a program to study tourism, and I dedicated myself to learning the ins and outs of the field. Ultimately, I earned a diploma as both a tour guide and a technical specialist in tourism.

My education and passion have come together to create a career that allows me to share my love for travel with others. I now work as a travel agent, helping people discover France's gems by connecting my clients to great and special experiences led by local people willing to share their culture and secrets.

Travel is not just a job for me; it's a lifelong passion that I'm fortunate to turn into a profession."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"One travel experience I'll never forget is a month-long road trip through Spain with my parents in 2013.
We began our journey by renting a car in Barcelona, and from there, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure. The road led us to some of Spain's most captivating cities, including Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, and Salamanca. Along the way, we explored the rich history and diverse cultures of each place.

From the grandeur of Madrid's royal palace to the mesmerizing beauty of the Alhambra in Granada, the trip was a blend of history, architecture, and culinary delights. What made it truly special was the quality time spent with my parents, sharing stories, laughter, and creating lasting memories.

This road trip remains etched in my heart as an extraordinary and cherished travel experience."

Hi Prab,

Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback.

We are glad to hear that the trip overall went well and that the drivers met your expectations in terms of punctuality and professionalism.

We are, however, very sorry to read about your experience with one of the guides. The situation you describe in the metro, especially with your son being left behind, is not acceptable and should never happen. This clearly reflects a lack of anticipation and group management, and we fully understand how stressful this must have been.

We take this feedback very seriously and will address it directly with the guide concerned to ensure this does not happen again. Proper coordination, clear communication, and ensuring the safety and cohesion of the group at all times are essential standards we expect.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention — it helps us improve our operations on the ground.

- The guide for the Food Tour in Nice was the best. A visitor/guest could not ask for a better experience with a persoable and knowledable guide. She was just amazing!
- Rental Car - once we were in Nice, we did not need the rental car. It was much, much better and easier for us to Uber to locations or take the train, especially with the large events we attended.

Our guide felt bad and apologized, then continued on professionally and graciously.

The hotel was terrific. We loved the two rooms. I would suggest you have more guest-friendly way to get bags to the rooms. Great as well to know the Nice food tour stood out so strongly, and that you had a good overall experience with the hotels.

The winery experience: your feedback is very clear. Early-season operations can sometimes impact the overall atmosphere, and we’ll review this partner and the timing to ensure a better fit in the future.

We’re very happy you enjoyed both the Nice and Menton festivities overall — they are quite unique moments of the season.

The only negative on our trip was the night hotel staff at the Aragon hotel in Carcassonne. During our tour of the walled city we noticed that only a couple of stores / cafes were actually open even though the internet listed large numbers of restaurants as open. For this reason we asked the lady at the hotel reception desk if she could assist in calling some nearby restaurants to see if any were actually open for dinner. The lady declined to assist and said you’ll just need to go by yourself to see if they are open. Without phone service or transportation we couldn’t easily get to these places to see if they were actually open. This level of customer service sucks. Hotels being booked though Kim Kim should be prepared to assist travelers staying with them and have a list of open restaurants or make calls to verify if a place is actually open for dinner.

Hi Glenn,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the excursions, the guides, the hotel locations, and the train logistics. We know how important smooth connections and well-timed travel are, and we are glad this part of the trip worked well for you.

We are, however, very sorry to read about your experience with the night staff at the Aragon hotel in Carcassonne. We fully understand how frustrating this situation must have been, especially after discovering that many restaurants listed online were in fact closed. Your request for assistance was reasonable, and the response you received clearly did not meet the level of care we expect from our accommodation partners.

We take this feedback seriously and will address it directly with the hotel, including the need for better on-site support in the evenings and clearer, up-to-date local dining information. In historic towns like Carcassonne, opening days and hours can vary significantly depending on the season, and local guidance is often essential.

Thank you again for your trust and for highlighting this point so we can improve future experiences for our travellers.

Cheers,
Sebastian

I cannot say enough good about my experience planning and executing a once in a lifetime trip to Paris and neighboring locations with Kimkim (France Local) and our local specialist, Sebastian. Sebastian helped us plan a very workable itinerary that covered all the important locals in Paris, Chartres, Bayeux, Mont Saint-Michel, Normandy (Point du Hoc and Omaha Beach, Rheims, and Versailles - in a week and a half. He prepared a wonderful guided trip in a cute little car through Paris, and, our guide was VERY informative. We picked up a wonderful car in Amboise, and could drive ourselves through the French country side. We had lovely tours of the Chateaux de Chambord and Chenonceau. We drove to Chartres for a view of town and Cathedral. We then moved to Mont Saint Michel, where Sebastian arranged for us to stay in the wonderful L'Auberge de la Mere Poulard. We were SO happy, because friends had told us not to miss eating at their restaurant. I have had a lifelong wish to visit the Abbey, so, it was an amazing treat to climb all the way up there! Sebastian provided us with a wonderful guide for Point du Hoc and Omaha Beach. That guide timed our tour so that we could see the lowering of the U.S. flag on Omaha Beach. Very moving. Back in Paris, we visited Versailles, then set off to see the Reims Cathedral, and, of course, to sample Champagne.

All of our tickets were available, easy to organize, easy to print, and easy to use at the cite. Given the complexity of our arrangements, we lost no time, trying to make arrangements, or walking across town to pick up tickets or loosing time "fixing" arrangements during our trip.

However, the absolute most extraordinary thing about Sebastian's service, was that he was available to us during the trip. We had a couple instances where we misunderstood directions and couldn't find our guide. Especially, when we tried to meet our guide for the Normandy beach trip, we found ourselves waiting at the meeting point, with no guide. We notified Sebastian and he was at his desk, and, within a minute, he was in touch with our guide, who was waiting for us around the corner. If Sebastian had not been available and responsive at that very minute, we would have totally missed a very important part of our trip.

So, in sum, visiting Paris and environs has been a long-time wish of mine, and Sebastian made a busy and complicated schedule easy, doable, enjoyable, worry free - and wondrous. For that, I will be eternally grateful!

Hotel Astoria - Astotel
Paris

I have to give a big shout out to this hotel for making a difficult time in Paris absolutely perfect. I initially stayed in a lovely room with a friend of mine for a couple nights. Then, I moved to a single room after she went back home for a few more days. Then, my flight back home was delayed, the hotel let me stay in the same room for an additional three days at a very reasonable price. I am grateful to this hotel for their wonderful service, the wonderful breakfasts, and, for their hospitality in extending my visit beyond what I had intended. They truly made my visit memorable and comfortable!

Authenticity & Character
Location
I would have been better off in a hotel that was more central. This hotel was originally chosen to be closer to the escape route to the airport after our visit, and, it was wonderful from that perspective, but, my trip was extended by 6 days, and most of my activities were more central. But, this was my choice. I learned to use the Metro and things were better!
Staff
They were very helpful when my trip was extended because of weather at home. Also, the breakfast staff was very accommodating and helpful in every way.
Cleanliness & Comfort
The room, bathroom and public areas of the hotel were clean, free of trip risks and comfortable.

Hi Laurel,

I hope you're doing great.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback.

I am truly glad to hear that this journey through Paris and the surrounding regions met your expectations, and that the itinerary felt both smooth and meaningful despite its richness. Designing a route that balances distances, visits, and time on the ground is always a careful process, so your words mean a lot.

I am especially pleased that the local guides, drivers, and partners on the ground contributed positively to your experience. Moments such as the visit to Mont Saint-Michel, the Normandy sites, or the timing at Omaha Beach are powerful, and it matters to us that they unfold in the right conditions.

Being available during the trip is a core part of how we work. Travel rarely goes exactly as planned, and being able to react quickly on the ground is essential. I’m glad I could be there when it mattered and help keep things on track.

Thank you again for your trust and for sharing your experience. It was a pleasure to work with you on this journey, and I wish you many more meaningful travels ahead.

We started working with Sebastian back in October, telling him the must see places for a 10 day January trip in Paris and the surrounding areas. We basically told him the places we wanted to see-Chateau country, Chartres, Mont Saint-Michel, Bayeux , and Reims and he put together the itinerary which included trains, car, and truly lovely hotels, all perfectly placed to be close to the historical sites we wanted to see. La Maison Rabelais in Amboise, Le Boeuf Couronee in Chartres, and the Grand Hotel Luxembourg in Bayeux . In Paris, where we explored Notre Dame de Paris, Ste Chapelle, the entire Left Bank from Shakespeare and Company out to St. Germain de Pre, (didn't have time for the Invalides, Musee de Cluny, or the Rodin) the Central sites and we stayed with hotels from the Astotel Group, my personal favorite was the Astoria near the Pigalle area of Paris.

Speaking of guides, Veronique (Vero), our full day guide in Chateau country for Chambord and Chenonceau, was a walking professor of history, she knew not just events and dates, but all the fun stories that go behind the dates, as did Stephanie for le Mont Saint-Michel. Nico for Paris and Gwen for Normandy rounded out our local guides.

France By Locals/Sebastian was immediately responsive each and every time we had a question on this trip, like when we couldn't find a guide or forgot where to return something. All resolved swiftly.

Our guide had years of experience in the area and she did a wonderful job of talking about the unique nature of the Loire Valley. Having lunch and a wine tasting on a river boat was so relaxing and informative. This is an experience not to be missed!

I recently returned from a trip to France. Our local specialist, Sebastian, was quite helpful and understanding in planning our trip. He was sensitive to our interests and helped to maximize our days given what we wanted to see and do. His hotel recommendations were all centrally located providing easy access to walking and public transportation within the cities. The small group tours he chose were great and the local guides in each case were knowledgeable and made the experience that much better. This was the second time I have used KimKim and will definitely use them again.
