Sebastian Prino

Hi,
My name is Sebastian, a travel agent specializing in France, with a particular focus on outdoor and gastronomic activities. I believe that traveling should be more than just visiting popular tourist destinations; it should be an immersive journey that connects people with the heart and soul of a place. I take pride in crafting itineraries that combine the breathtaking landscapes of France with its rich culinary traditions, ensuring that each trip is a unique and delicious adventure. Whether it's exploring the vineyards of Bordeaux, hiking in the picturesque Alps, or savoring the finest French cuisine in charming bistros, I'm dedicated to creating tailor-made journeys that leave a lasting impression.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I specialize in crafting travel experiences primarily within France.

My expertise extends to the entire country, thanks to my extensive travels throughout its diverse regions. While living in Marseille, I am particularly well-equipped to organize tailor-made trips in the beautiful South of France, which allows me to create unique and personalized itineraries that showcase the culture, landscapes, and hidden gems of the region.

Whether it's the enchanting Provence, the glamorous French Riviera, or the picturesque countryside of the Dordogne, I can design trips that cater to a wide range of interests and preferences.

My aim is to provide the best activities and itineraries for everyone, ensuring that each journey in France is an unforgettable experience."

How did you get involved in travel?

"I was sparked by a life-changing experience. At the age of 20, I embarked on a two-month journey across Europe, and during that trip, I fell in love with the world. The diverse cultures, the rich history, and the breathtaking landscapes I encountered ignited a deep fascination with exploring the globe and it hidden treasures.

This profound connection to travel inspired me to pursue it as a career. After my journey, I decided to formalize my knowledge and commitment to the industry. I enrolled in a program to study tourism, and I dedicated myself to learning the ins and outs of the field. Ultimately, I earned a diploma as both a tour guide and a technical specialist in tourism.

My education and passion have come together to create a career that allows me to share my love for travel with others. I now work as a travel agent, helping people discover France's gems by connecting my clients to great and special experiences led by local people willing to share their culture and secrets.

Travel is not just a job for me; it's a lifelong passion that I'm fortunate to turn into a profession."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"One travel experience I'll never forget is a month-long road trip through Spain with my parents in 2013.
We began our journey by renting a car in Barcelona, and from there, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure. The road led us to some of Spain's most captivating cities, including Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, and Salamanca. Along the way, we explored the rich history and diverse cultures of each place.

From the grandeur of Madrid's royal palace to the mesmerizing beauty of the Alhambra in Granada, the trip was a blend of history, architecture, and culinary delights. What made it truly special was the quality time spent with my parents, sharing stories, laughter, and creating lasting memories.

This road trip remains etched in my heart as an extraordinary and cherished travel experience."

We had a tall order: travel across the country in less than 2 weeks, without breaking the bank or exhausting ourselves. We didn’t know where to start, or what to see. Sebastian expertly curated an incredible itinerary: we explored stunning chateaus, had insightful city tours with locals, wandered through charming towns, learned to bake classic french pastries, and so much more. The kimkim process made arranging this easy: we had a live chat, and could drop questions into it and have answers within hours. In fact, Kimkim had provided the second revision of our proposed itinerary before the other travel company we had contacted even answered our first email. The speed and clarity was unmatched! Unfortunately we had some last-minute disruptions to our vacation plans due to work conflicts, requiring a complete shift in our vacation dates. The kimkim team handled it easily, and was able to rebook our vacation on the new dates with minimal changes. They’re real pros: everything was conveniently arranged for us, we just had to show up. However, we were not “on our own” once we got there: Sebastian and his colleagues were easily within reach on whatsapp, there to help us navigate our trip and answer any questions we had. Some would call this a trip of a lifetime, but it was so good I hope we can do something like it again!

It was such a pleasure planning this journey with you both. I’m so glad the itinerary hit the right balance of adventure, relaxation, and authenticity—especially with such a packed timeframe. You handled the last-minute changes with incredible grace, and we were happy to adjust things to make sure everything still ran smoothly.

In our Lyon experience, we had 3 sad pieces of sausage and 1 small piece of cheese after a 3 hour historical tour. That was it. We were starving and had to purchase several other snacks along the way on our own. The food tour in Marseille was just sweets and no actual savory dishes representative of the area (which is what we typically associate with a food tour. Also, our bike tour in Aix-en-Provence was not properly booked, the guide was unaware that we were coming and but thankfully he was able to add us on to another group later that morning. It was not a private bike tour as we had originally booked.

The highlight of the trip was our 2 days of wine tasting with Eric in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape/ Gigondas and Bandol/Cassis areas.

Before the trip we had emphasized to our trip planner that we wanted to focus on a culinary/wine tour of France. We were disappointed in the culinary planning part of the trip for sure!

That said, I’m very sorry to hear that several parts of the trip—particularly the culinary experiences—didn’t align with what you were hoping for.

As for the mix-up with the bike tour in Aix-en-Provence—I sincerely apologize for the confusion and for the tour not being private as originally booked. I'm grateful to the guide for making it work, but you were right to expect a smoother experience from the start.

Thank you again for sharing both the positives and the areas where we need to improve.

Her Dad ended up our driver the next day to take us to the Tour train station and he was kind enough to stop at the Cathedral in tour for us to get a quick glimpse. Normandy Sightseeing Tour guide Emma was phenomenal for our beaches and cemetery experience. We had great drivers, including Hischam, who managed our rides and luggage for the Mont St. Michel. There were many highlights of the trip, but near the top were Versailles, the Louvre, cruise down the Seine, stay in the castle at La Tortiniere, tour of the Normandy beaches, the castles in Loire Valley (Amboise and Chenonceau), the town of Bayeux, Mont St. Michel and being up in the Eiffel Tower. AND, the French people were consistently LOVELY!

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to stay!!! It was a beautiful setting and the staff could not have been more accommodating and nice. The woman who greeted us who expressed sincere enthusiasm that we were there, the gentlemen (I think Andre was his name) who managed all our luggage, the staff who helped us figure out how to turn our shower on [;)], all seemed to want to provide a great stay for us, and they succeeded!

Authenticity & Character
To be able to stay in a chateau as beautiful, clean and lovely was a treat! The breakfast spread was fabulous!!!!

It had STUNNING views and we LOVED having a pool to unwind after four fun-filled but hectic days in Paris.

The hotel was perfectly situated... close enough the the center hub for an easy walk, and distance enough to not have the night noises of people celebrating.

Super tight quarters!!! Centrally located on the rock which was nice.

Total character - no ac, seagulls and pigeons who could enter one's room since there were no screens on windows!

Staff
Very little by way of dealings with staff. They were kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage in the dining area while we did a tour just before we left.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Maybe screens on the windows. Realistically, any place on the rock has its understandable limitations.

Although there only one night, the rooms were lovely, clean. The area was very cool. The food/drink spread they have in the lobby for guests was unbelievable and fabulous! The staff was lovely.

Very cool area of Paris. Would have liked to explore it more if we'd had the time.

We're absolutely delighted to hear that each of your guides and drivers left such a positive impression. Marlene, Sin Se, Camille, Emma, Hischam, and even Camille’s dad will be thrilled to know how much you appreciated their efforts and energy. It's always a pleasure to work with people who genuinely care, and it's wonderful to see that it came through so clearly during your trip.

We're also happy that so many moments stood out — from Versailles and the Louvre to the Normandy beaches and your castle stay at La Tortinière. It sounds like it was a beautiful blend of history, culture, and unforgettable experiences.

And thank you for your kind words about the French people — it means a lot.

We hope these memories stay with you for a long time, and we’d be thrilled to welcome you back whenever you're ready for another adventure.

Every driver and/or guide was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and interested in knowing about us. Marlene gave us an interesting and efficient tour of Versailles. She was a hoot--what fun we had! We went through the streets of Montmartre with Sensei (sp?) who showed us all the hidden gems with lots of patience because it was crowded, noisy, and hot. He sprinkled his guidance with a sense of humor that was much appreciated. After leaving Paris for the Loire Valley, we were treated to 2 wonderful days at Domaine de la Tortiniere--what a gorgeous chateau where the breakfast buffet was outstanding! Camille was our guide at Tours, first to beautiful Chenonceau, then to wine-tasting at Clos de la Richardière. Camille made this day wonderful! She was a delight! On to Le Bayeux (room for 3 was too tight), where we self-toured a beautiful city and enjoyed the Bayeux Tapestry. Normandy, guided by excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly Emma was another highlight. It was an emotional visit and too much to write about here. A day and a half at Mont-St-Michel was overwhelmingly amazing, too! The Hôtel Lorette-Astotel is a beautiful hotel, though we couldn't take advantage of it because we were caught in the terrible storm as soon as we descended the Eiffel Tower. It took 1 1/2 hours to find our way back, but the staff gave us plastic bags for our soaking wet clothing. All transports--the Metro, trains, vans--were great throughout our entire time in France. Very impressive! Thank you so much for everything!

Hotel Reviews
Le Bayeux
Bayeux

This hotel in Bayeux is right in town, an excellent location to explore this beautiful Norman town. My only criticism is that we had booked a room for three people, but the room was very small. It had three twin beds, all in a row, and very little space to walk around or put our suitcases. If you need a room for three, I would check to see if they have a bigger accommodation. It really was tight for three adults. Otherwise, it is a lovely hotel. The breakfast was very good.

This hotel was our very favorite! The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Since we arrived on a very hot day, we loved having that beautiful pool at our disposal. We were a group of 7, 5 women and two teenage girls, and we all enjoyed our rooms and especially the breakfasts! They were exceptional! The hotel is outside of Tours, so a car is advisable. We did not rent a car, but we were able to Uber into Tours for dinner. We had a private guide who picked us up for our tour of the Royal Castle of Amboise, Clos Lucé and Chenonceau, and that was a great day.

Authenticity & Character
The hotel is a chateau from the 18th century, so charming.
Location
It is in a beautiful location, about 12 km outside of Tours, surrounded by Forrest, so peaceful and tranquil. This was very appreciated after four very busy days in Paris. It is a great location to visit the chateaux in the Loire Valley. A car is advisable if staying more than two nights.

We arrived before our rooms were available and they directed us to the little chalet near the pool where we could change into our bathing suits and swim in the pool while we waited.

Hotel in Paris - great location, nothing fancy at all ... but clean and convenient. Nice breakfast and friendly staff.

Le Cep - I requested this and it was lovely. Property is aging a bit but they were SUPER helpful, set up a wine tasting, cocktails were great (and wine) and breakfast is fabulous. Rooms are nice and huge bathrooms, can walk to village center, market etc

Chateau in Carpentras was AMAZING. Sandrine's home is gorgeous ... rooms lovely, pool amazing and a nice casual breakfast. LOVED it. BUT ...... it is not for everyone. It's basically a room in her house and there are no services on site, nothing nearby, Sandrine is in and out. So long as guest know what to expect, all good. It was perfect for us.

The bike shop that Sebastian used was terrific - fun and easy, nice bikes, etc. All good,

Cassis - Jardine du Cassis Hotel. Clean, neat, nice pool. LONG STEEP walk to town. NO one should stay there that is not able to handle a substantial walk. We are in GREAT shape and hike/walk a lot and it was steep and long. They market it as close to town but it's not. It was fine for us but so that you are aware.

Kayak trip was FANTASTIC. Vincent, the owner, did our private tour. We are super experienced so he took us on a great adventure. Picnic provided was delicious ( simple but good - from a local business).

Hi Darcy, how are you?

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. I’m really glad to hear that the logistics went smoothly and that you had fun overall. It was a real pleasure working with you!

I truly appreciate your honest comments regarding pricing transparency. I understand how important it is to feel confident about the value and structure behind a service. While our current model focuses on delivering a seamless and personalized experience, I hear your point and will definitely pass this feedback along to the Kimkim team. Improving transparency is something we take seriously, and your insight will help us do better.

Thank you as well for the thoughtful notes on each part of the itinerary — especially your comments on the hotels, the chateau experience in Carpentras, and the Jardins de Cassis. These kinds of firsthand impressions are incredibly helpful, both for us and for future travelers.

I’m especially happy that the bike experience and the kayak adventure with Vincent hit the mark — he’s fantastic, and it’s great to know you enjoyed the outing and the local picnic.

If you ever decide to explore France again or anywhere else, I’d love the chance to assist — with even more precision, now that I know your preferences better.

Wishing you all the best on your next adventure,
Warm regards,
Sebastian
