Valeria Di Biagio
Born and raised in Rome, I grew up in a city where history, art, culture, and tradition are part of everyday life. Rome has always been my home and a place I continue to rediscover, from its iconic landmarks to its hidden corners and local gems.
My passion for travel has also taken me abroad, including the opportunity to live in Barcelona and Warsaw. Experiencing different cultures, meeting people from around the world, and discovering local food and traditions taught me to look at travel from both a local and a traveler’s perspective.
Today, I love bringing these two perspectives together when creating journeys through Italy. My goal is to combine the country’s must-see highlights with authentic experiences, local traditions, and those special places that allow travelers to experience Italy in a more personal and memorable way.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in Italy in its entirety, from its iconic cities and charming countryside to its beautiful islands and lesser-known destinations. Having been born and raised in Rome, I have a particularly strong connection to the country, but I love discovering what makes every region and destination unique.
My expertise also extends to hand-picked accommodations, authentic local experiences, and transportation, from private drivers and trains to boats and other forms of travel. In line with Storywalking’s philosophy, I focus on creating meaningful experiences that connect travelers with the people, culture, traditions, and stories of each place.
Most importantly, everything is fully tailor-made. I take into account the composition of the traveling party, their interests, travel style, pace, and expectations to create a journey that feels truly personal, whether it’s a romantic escape, a family adventure, or a trip with friends."
How did you get involved in travel?
"I’ve always had a passion for travel. I traveled extensively with my family growing up, and later, whenever I traveled with friends, I naturally became the one organizing everything. I loved researching destinations, planning itineraries, and taking care of every little detail.
What started as something I simply enjoyed doing became a real passion, and I found so much satisfaction in creating experiences and seeing everything come together.
Professionally, I initially worked in advertising as a copywriter, but in 2022 I decided to turn my passion for travel into my career. Since then, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with several Italian and international travel agencies, gaining experience and learning something new from every partnership.
My latest adventure with Storywalking has brought me here, and I couldn’t be happier. Today, I get to do what I love every day, creating meaningful travel experiences and, in a way, “selling happiness” to other people. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone turn their dream trip into a beautiful memory."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"My honeymoon is a travel experience I will never forget, and also one of my greatest planning challenges! I had just 14 days but wanted to experience four completely different destinations: Koh Samui, Singapore, Malaysian Borneo, and Hong Kong. I planned every detail myself, from the flights and internal transfers to local experiences, incredible restaurants, and plenty of time for massages and relaxation. It was a busy itinerary, but everything came together perfectly, and I had so much fun making it happen.
If I had to choose my favorite destination, though, Thailand would still be at the top of my list. Beyond its spirituality and breathtaking landscapes, what stayed with me most was the incredible warmth and hospitality of the people. The genuine smiles of the locals make you feel welcome in a way that is difficult to put into words.
Another destination that left me truly speechless is Iceland. There, nature completely takes center stage. What fascinates me most is how dramatically the landscape changes from one place to another, waterfalls, glaciers, black-sand beaches, volcanoes, and vast open spaces. Every turn feels like discovering a completely different world, creating a constant sense of wonder."
