Chianti Wine Tasting & Farm Lunch, Siena

Overview

Absorb Chianti’s scenic countryside with a driving and winetasting tour. You’ll twist and turn along panoramic roads, tour wine cellars, learn about the history of growing Chianti grapes, and savor a traditional lunch of local products on a family farm.

As you set off for Chianti, enjoy the passing landscapes with their neat rows of vineyards and idyllic medieval villages. Catch glimpses of covered walkways, castles, villas, towers, and abbeys that seem to appear out of nowhere. All these landmarks stand strong despite the tumultuous history between Tuscany’s opposing Republics of Siena and Florence.

You’ll stop to visit three local wineries, one micro producer crafting exceptional hand-made wines or “boutique wines,” one mid-sized vineyard, and a larger, more modern winery. Exploring different sizes of produces offers various wines and techniques used in their production. You’ll end your tour with a traditional Tuscan lunch at a family winery, where you can meet the locals. Savor the famous Chianti Classico wines and learn about the area’s traditions and legends, such as the one behind its symbol of a Black Rooster.
