Capri Island & Grotto Boat Tour, Amalfi Coast

Overview

Explore the stunning island of Capri and its many surrounding caves from the comfort of a traditional Gozzo Sorrentino boat. Start in the morning from the port of Piano di Sorrento. As you sail along the coast, you’ll pass the ancient fishing village of Marina Grande, the Roman villa ruins near Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a beautiful natural waterfall, and other interesting attractions.

Upon arrival at Capri, hop on a different boat and tour the island’s rugged coastline and incredible caves. As long as the weather cooperates, you’ll make several stops to view the caves, including the Marvellous Grotto, White Grotto, Green Grotto, and Blue Grotto. You’ll also admire the Natural Arch, the Villa Curzio Malaparte, the Faraglioni rocks, and the Lighthouse of Punta Carena. When your captain anchors, enjoy time to swim and snorkel in the clear waters or relax on board with snacks and drinks.

Next, you’ll dock at Capri and explore the island on foot. Enjoy 3-5 hours of free time to meander the island as you wish! We recommend taking a taxi up the cliffs to the town of Anacapri and continuing on the ski lift to the highest point of the island. This breathtaking view is one of the highlights of the trip. You’ll capture views of the island, the Gulf of Naples, and the impressive Mt. Vesuvius looming in the background.

Spend the rest of your time walking around the town of Capri and visiting the extraordinary Gardens of Augustus. Take a break to enjoy lunch overlooking the coastline and then return to your boat. As you sail back to Sorrento, finish your tour with a delicious tasting of locally produced limoncello.
