The hot water spas were so nice to relax in after a long day of excursions. The swim up bar was great and the hotel itself is beautiful. The scenery is relaxing in the. Morning because of the procured lawns. Quick transportation to the various spots around the hotel. All personnel were very pleasant and helpful!

Beautiful hotel nestled on the mountain high. Lots of wildlife sleeking around. Beautiful view from the office. Plantains served were the only thing I think they can improve on. The breakfast was good. And the scenery and walking trails were nice.

Beautiful hotel with lots of monkeys running around. You are bound to see them at any meal or at the bar. A sloth hangs in a tree you can view from the pool. Great happy hour for drinks. The buffet is delicious. Every staff member is helpful and friendly. Gorgeous hotel with great views that has you immersed in the wildlife!

Our whitewater rafting adventure with Jiro was an absolute highlight of our trip! He took excellent care of us from start to finish — making sure we were safe, comfortable, and having a great time throughout the entire experience. Jiro’s energy and expertise made the trip both exciting and enjoyable. He explained everything clearly, kept the group laughing, and made even the more challenging rapids feel fun and manageable. If you’re considering this excursion, don’t miss it — it’s an unforgettable experience and Jiro is fantastic!

We started our day at Selvatura Park with a guided nature walk, and it was such a fascinating experience! Our guide was incredible — he pointed out animals and creatures we never would have noticed on our own, like bats resting inside a hollow tree and orange-knee spiders hidden among the plants. Note to future travelers: this walk is quite long and can be challenging for those who aren’t used to a lot of walking or uphill terrain. It’s absolutely worth it, but it helps to build up your stamina beforehand so you can fully enjoy the experience. After the nature walk, we continued to the zip line adventure with Sebastian and Carlitos, and it was amazing from start to finish! They were so patient and kind, especially with my 80-year-old mom, who needed a few walking breaks along the way. They never made us feel rushed — instead, they turned each stop into part of the adventure, pointing out the scenery and keeping everything fun and relaxed. I’m usually afraid of heights, but both Sebastian and Carlitos helped me feel safe and confident the entire time. Their encouragement made the adventure unforgettable — full of excitement, laughter, and stunning views. And don’t miss the Tarzan Swing at the end — it’s the perfect way to wrap up an incredible day at Selvatura Park!

Our guided hike through Manuel Antonio National Park was an unforgettable experience! The park is absolutely stunning — lush, vibrant, and full of wildlife at every turn. Our guide was fantastic, helping us spot so many animals we would have easily missed on our own. We saw several sloths, along with a variety of other fascinating creatures, from colorful birds to playful monkeys. The trails led us to some truly beautiful beach areas, where we could relax and take in the breathtaking coastal views. Travel tips: bring plenty of water, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars if you have them, and an extra couple of dollars. We purchased ice-cold coconuts on our way out, and they were perfect for the occasion! This tour was the perfect combination of nature, wildlife, and relaxation — highly recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica!

Probably the best on our trip. Breakfast and restaurant was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Loved the view from our room and the spa was very enjoyable. Our balcony had a view of Arenal and a show of birds every morning. One large negative is make SURE that they have no parties scheduled during your stay. They have a very LOUD party that left us sleepless and tired the next day. Very annoying, however still 4 stars because of the previous days.

Clean, quiet and just minutes from down town.

Location and staff were great. Continental breakfast leaves quite a bit to be desired, basically toast and coffee. But staff and location and rooms were great.

Hike brings you up a volcanic debris field, not close to the actual top. But still nice. The green lake was guacamole, kinda meh.

Nature, breath taking, beautiful and FUN.

The whole building is like being on a screened porch. They were lovely fans in the room. A wonderful porch, a great shower, and we could hear the jungle sounds all night long. It’s a very well laid out area. We loved it.

Our favorite activity of the whole trip. Ended up being the only family on the tour and they were just so nice. They were so helpful to our kids and letting them try new foods and even help with the cooking! The dinner turned out muy delicioso!

We loved our stay here. While very spread out, the views were wonderful. There are walking paths on the grounds, a nice pool with a bar and a decent restaurant.

Hotel is adequate, but amenities, grounds, and staff upgrade the whole experience. Higher floor rooms seem nicer than lower rooms. Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant, staff and beach are terrific. Food was good, standard Costa Rica fare, drinks were good and staff went the extra mile. Direct beach access is a big bonus and the beach itself is lovely. There are life guards, which we liked, and you can go out a long way because it is shallow. Playing in the waves was terrific and you can rent surf boards and boogie boards right there. There are roaming beach vendors, but they were always nice and backed off immediately if you said no. There is lots of wildlife right on the grounds with sloths, monkeys and birds. Would definitely stay again.

Good place to stay by the airport. Very comfortable rooms and dining was fairly good. Shuttle to airport runs 24/7 every 15 minutes. Great place to start or end a trip.

Rustic and outdoorsy. Our guide, Franklin, really made the difference as he knew an amazing amount of info about the volcano, plants, insects and animals. Amazing views and well worth it.

We didn't know what to expect at Don Juans, but turned out great. Our guide was entertaining and was very knowledgeable about the process, uses and market of the chocolate, coffee and sugar cane farms. Lots of opportunity to smell, touch and taste.

One of the best excursions we had. You really feel a part of the nature and night time is when you can see the animal and insect world in full swing. The walk is about 2 hours and is up and down, so be ready for a good walk. Our guide, Mario, was excellent and we saw far more than I expected.

We almost skipped this but turned out to be one of the favorite things we did as a family while in Costa Rica. Wonderful guides, terrific views, and it really gave us a chance to feel part of nature. Zip lines were high above the forest, were fast and a long distance so you had time to look around as you went. Suspension bridges were right at tree top level and we spent time with butterflies, monkeys and birds. Walking paths were great to meander along and take time to look around. There is a cafe at the end for a quick lunch, if interested.

This was at the tail end of our vacation and we’d already taken several nature walks, so we were looking for a different experience. Going through the mangroves by boat gave us an entirely different cut at Costa Rica’s nature. The guides were very knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure that we saw plenty of birds, iguanas, and snakes, as well as gave us detailed information about the ecosystem. The boat ride was very pleasurable and a great way to take in the nature around at a slower pace. Be sure to bring binoculars for the best experience.

This was a phenomenal choice. What a remarkable location, with such beauty and serenity. And if that were not enough, the restaurant and the rooms were perfectly adorned and in keeping with the landscape. And yet - the service surpassed even that. From first to last, every interaction was marked by kindness, responsiveness, and a delight in seeing our own delight. We shared some absolutely memorable moments. I absolutely want to return here, and the whole staff at Koora deserves high praise.
