Best to be prepared whenever venturing off into the mountains. Weather and trail conditions are extremely variable in the mountains, not to mention the dangers that come along with technical climbs. Here are few thoughts to keep you safe as you head off to explore the Slovenian Alps.
The Slovenian Alps are divided into three ranges — the Julian Alps, the Kamnik Alps, and the Karawanks — each with its own unique character. Bordering Austria and Italy, the Slovenian Alps are the most eastern part of the Alps, just as beautiful yet without the crowds, making it all the more appealing to explore!
The Slovenian Alps are a playground for climbers and hikers alike. You'll have access to convenient mountain huts and a variety of terrain to help find the right climb for you. Below, we've listed a few of our favorite routes for you to choose from.
The Slovenian Alps has a great selection of beautiful short hikes that can be extended into full-day adventures. Here's a list of our favorite routes to do during the summer when the trails are at their best.
Follow the Þórsmörk, Fimmvörðuháls, and Þríhyrningur hiking and biking routes through stunning valleys, along exposed ridges, and across gravelly rivers. Trek next to the powerful Eyjafjallajokull volcano, which caused international air traffic mayhem when it erupted in 2010. Visit the isolated Troll Church, a speck of white architecture in a landscape of fire and ice. These day hikes are designed to take you through incredible scenery and give you a varied experience of Iceland's dramatic landscape.

Northern lights and nature , Iceland - Mar 11 - Mar 18, 2018
We had an awesome experience in Iceland and really thank both KimKim and Midgard. I would definitely use KimKim again the next time we go on international travel for a bit of adventure. They contacted me immediately and set me up with a local Iceland representative, Anna from Midgard. Anna did a great job, especially considering I was booking things at the last minute and my wife decided to join the trip after most of our plans were already set up. Anna was flexible and stayed at the... read more

Iceland trip, Iceland - May 28 - May 30, 2017
Everything was good and we had a wonderful time on our trip. I do feel like a few things could be improved. Kimkim was not proactive in providing itineraries or details. Everything was booked but I didn't receive confirmation number or vouchers with the tour agency. When I asked about this I was assured that everything was all set and I didn't need any confirmation number or voucher.
While everything turned out to be fine I would have felt more comfortable with some sort of voucher. Also,... read more

5 day south coast adventure in march, Iceland - Feb 27 - Mar 3, 2017
Our trip to Iceland couldn't have been more perfect. To start with, it is a beautiful country and we were very fortunate to have had perfectly clear weather the entire 5 days we were there in February/March, after what we had been told was a very rainy winter. 18 inches of snow fell just before we arrived, and the Northern lights were out every night, making it a winter wonderland. That part was sheer luck, but on top of that, the trip was as smooth as we could have hoped. Our driver was... read more

5 day south coast adventure, Iceland - Nov 8 - Nov 13, 2016
The tour guide Begga was super nice , on time, and we always felt felt and comfortable with her.
A few things that could have been done better:
1- it would have been nice to have received a detailed itinerary before getting there (we had a 5 line itinerary before the trip).
2- more information (geography, history) about the places we were seeing/visiting
Kristin helped organize the trip and all that we decided to do, we did it.
Grimsborgir was pretty desolated so we would have... read more
