The overall expeience was excellent. Highlights were dinner with families, Marakesh tour with Moroccan history, sunset trip in desert, guided stops at the various points of interest, and generally the experience of interacting with the Moroccan people.

Our driver, Abdel, was over-the-top excellent, an 11 out of 10.

A few suggestions:
1. Although most stops were NOT aggressivey pushing sales of their products, a couple did...not comfortable.
2. A walk through the gardens at the "rug stop" was not particularly interesting and, in our case, the ground was muddy and uneven so quite messy and somewhat dangerous.
3. Acceptance of credit cards was sporadic. Thus, I would suggest advising clients to have sufficient amount of Morrocan cash for the week.
4. Because of the frequent tipping of guides and other service people, I would also suggest that clients have smaller denominations available.
5. The last Riad routinely shuts off the water overnight. Quite a surprise when you need to wake up to make an early flight.
6. Logistics for arriving at & leaving the desert camp could be fine-tuned...all aspects, who, what, when, & where. Communications with, and seemingly among, the staff at the desert camp was disjointed at best.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for taking time to write a review. We are happy to hear that your overall experience was excellent and we enjoyed meeting you here in the Valley of Roses.

Thanks for the notes as well. We do include stops like the rug cooperative only because it is an important part of the culture and should be no-pressure stops - I will contact you directly to get more information, so that we can speak to the local guide and/or the particular cooperative. The idea is to just share the local handicrafts that have been practiced for centuries and we definitely don't want our guests to feel uncomfortable. We will also discuss this with our tour managers so that they explain that stops like that are optional and that you are free to skip them if you wish.

I thought that the point about credit cards was addressed in the Morocco trip tips sheet that we provided, but I just looked and see that that particular point is not mentioned. I will revise that and be sure to communicate that with future travelers.

Regarding the water at the riad, we did hear reports that the water was out; however, it was an outage that affected the entire quartier of Marrakech and not within the control for the riad itself. Unfortunately, this happens in Morocco generally from time to time, but it is getting less frequent.

And finally, we will discuss the points about the desert camp with our tour managers, too. This is something that they should be coordinating and communicating to you before you head to the camp.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! And, again, we are happy to hear that enjoyed your time with Abdelhadi and in Morocco, generally.
