Customized Bucket List Trip of a Lifetime

With a deep interest in medieval French art and architecture, I've been carrying a list of sites that I meant to visit "someday" around in my head for more than 40 years. The problem has always been that many of these sites — like St-Martin-du-Canigou, St-Guilhem-le-Désert and Conques — are fairly remote and pretty far off the usual tourist track for Americans.
