Majid was great to work with. His suggestions for our trip included length of time visiting each city as well as which order to best see them in. We changed our plans and dates a couple of times and Majid was always there to help!

Our guide/driver, Khalid, was the BEST! He has a vast knowledge of Morocco, its people, and the culture. We spent 10 days with him, visiting many of the must-see places in Morocco. We even got to visit an Amazigh family in their (cave) home, which wasn't on our itinerary. We learned so much from Khalid; our trip was definitely enhanced by him and wouldn't have been nearly as cool without him. He takes his job very seriously and ensured our comfort every step of the way!

Hotel Reviews
Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca
Casablanca

We stayed only stayed one night at this hotel for our super-quick layover in Casablanca. It is a great hotel! Modern and clean. We enjoyed dinner on their rooftop bar, which includes panoramic views of the city and a pool. The included breakfast buffet was well stocked with many options.

Riad Lina
Chefchaouen

What a cute hotel! The staff was nice and accommodating. The decor was in-line with "the blue city". We only stayed here one night, so didn't have a chance to use many of the amenities, but the breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Also of note...outside was hot, but we were more than cool once in the hotel.

Authenticity & Character
We loved the blue decor and Moroccan-style tile details.

Riad Hanael Garden & Spa
FES

This Riad was only open for about a month at the time of our 2-night stay. What a lovely place. It is family owned and run by a mother-daughter team. They are so proud of what they have created and have thought of so many details (I'll mention a cute surprise for your comfort when you enter your room, but don't want to ruin the surprise! ;) ) If interested, they are more than happy to tell you the story from purchasing, years of remodeling to finally realizing their dream of opening. The courtyard is beautiful, complete with a fountain, pool and 3 turtles (we could only find one, but he was out for a while milling around!) There are plenty of dining room options, from indoors to out and even from the rooftop patio. We could tell the furnishings had been chosen with care. The service was great as all staff really is so excited to please. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely visit again on our next trip to Fes.

Authenticity & Character
Cute, quaint, quiet. Hearing the birds chirping from the courtyard was nice.
Location
Near the tanning district and close to parking (for medina standards)
Staff
Always eager to please!
Cleanliness & Comfort
Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
2Ciels Boutique Hotel
Marrakech

A nice, up-scale hotel and spa with all of the accommodations one would expect. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, the restaurant has a great breakfast buffet and equally delicious dinner. We tried our first hamam here and did not leave disappointed.

Tiziri Luxury Camp
Merzouga

What a fun experience and so different from staying at a hotel or riad. These are well-adorned tents, complete with private sinks, showers and toilets. The decor is darling and in-line with what the local nomadic Amazigh people would use. There is a heater for the winter months and a fan for the summer months. All electricity (including water pumps) are solar powered, so expect to use as little electricity as possible (iPad, phone, laptop to your heart's content, but no hair dryers allowed as it will blow the entire system). It also should be noted that there is no A/C. We stayed 2 nights towards the end of May and it was getting hot. Generally speaking, you're out seeing other things, away from camp, during the day when temperatures peak, so the heat wasn't a problem for us, but one may just want to be aware to set expectations. We definitely made use of open windows and the fan during the evening and slept like babies. The staff here was eager to please and very proud of their service level. They are also very excited to play traditional Amazigh music for everyone at night for entertainment. We tried sandboarding (with success!!) a couple of times using the board they offered on site. We enjoyed breakfast and dinners during our stay and did not walk away hungry. Star gazing for days (nor nights I guess I should say) We would definitely stay here on our next trip to Mergouza.

Authenticity & Character
Location
Out in the middle of absolutely NOWHERE!!
Staff
Friendly, helpful and eager to please!
Cleanliness & Comfort
I can see the necessity for an A/C during the summer months, but we were quite comfortable during the non-heat of the day.
Dar Rihana Dades
Douar Aït Ouffi

This riad was nice, but needs a little updating (VERY worn towels, patio/pool area furniture outdated/worn, etc). If you don't choose to stay here, though, you should DEFINITELY eat at the adjoining restaurant that is run by the same brothers. The chef is incredible, especially if you need a little break from typical Moroccan food. We ate combinations not thought imaginable and asked our waiter for at least 3 of the recipes (and we only stayed 1 night!). We lost count of how many courses there were for dinner. And breakfast was equally as delicious.

We really enjoyed the opportunity to view the mosque even though we aren't muslim. We appreciated learning about the religion, how ablution works and about the architecture of the site.
