Robert was unavailable due to an injury. This should have been communicated prior to the night before the trip. Robert's cousin, Goran, ran the trip. Logistics were not well communicated. Information regarding availability of bathrooms, water, lunch should have been communicated the night before so that we could have planned better. There was an unexpected heatwave, and while there was water provided along the way, it was warm and maybe the biking more difficult. It would have been nice if there was a cooler, with ice, water or coca cola. Additionally, the van had no air conditioning making the day even hotter when we were shuttled to beginning or end points.

Furthermore, we were required to have an app downloaded to our phones for biking route navigation. We did not know about this and were told we would need to have either a data plan and sufficient battery packs to work. We found out the morning of the first bike route. We did not bring extra battery packs because we didn't know. So each day after a few hours, the app was no longer usable for us and we had to guess the rest of our route.

The first hotel was the Marko Polo on Korcula and it was in rough shape. Our room was in the basement, it smelled of mildew and animal feces, there was a hole in the ceiling and a constant dripping sound from the bathroom. There were no other rooms to switch to per the hotel. Goran traded his room for ours. This was much appreciated. While smaller and no patio, it smelled significantly better, albeit still very dark. The entire hallway smelled horrible of mildew and animal feces. We were there for 2 nights.

Our other 2 accommodations were significantly better. The Sorgo Palace in Ston was lovely and our hostess was amazing. She prepared breakfast for us "to go" for our early morning ferry ride. She also provided us with beach towels when we realized we might need them the night before - again, this should have been communicated ahead of time so that we didn't have to scramble to find them.

Hotel Adria was very nice. Had beautiful views, and an amazing pool.

Robert did arrange for transport for us, first in Split from our hotel instead of the airport to the ferry -- actually much closer than the airport. Also, from Hotel Adria to our accommodations in Old Town in Dubrovnik and finally from Old Town to the Dubrovnik airport - all very much appreciated.

Overall -- logistics should have been better. Communication should have been better. No one should stay at the Marko Polo - ever. There is no way that is a 4 star hotel.

Marko Polo Hotel
Korcula

Do not stay at this hotel. Our room was in the basement of another part of the hotel. The room smelled of rat feces and mildew. The carpet was probably the original from the early 70's. There was a hole in the ceiling with exposed pipes/wires. The bathroom had water dripping from somewhere. The staff were like "nothing we can do".

This hotel was lovely. The owner was amazing. Highly recommend staying here. The rooms were beautiful (although no elevator) so smaller luggage is suggested for climbing stairs.

Nice hotel with beautiful views of the port. Comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Very nice pool area.

Authenticity & Character
It's more of a chain hotel - not a bad thing - but authenticity and character are not words I would use.

Except for the Marko Polo hotel...and the surrounding area - Korcula was very beautiful and the town was lovely. We were on a self-guided tour -- so we just wandered down all sorts of streets and alleys. It was great stumbling across new areas.
