Long Weekend Family Trip

Margoth and the entire team at Alcantaro (the local travel agency) were fantastic from start to finish. My family of four (me and my wife, 16 y/o daughter, 13 y/o son) spent 4 days and 3 nights in Cartagena at the start of November.

- Planning and booking our trip was easy. We quickly agreed on the activities we wanted to do within our budget - and our hotel was in a perfect location in the Old City.
- We had two different experiences at El Arsenal in Getsemani - they were among the highlights of our trip. We made (and ate) ceviche. And then we came back another day to sample exotic fruit and then make (and eat) ice cream. The staff was so kind that we also got to learn how they make chocolate - and sample plenty of it too. Plus, my wife and I sampled some rum at the end.
- We spent a day in the Rosario Islands. The boat trip was as advertised (just over an hour each way), and the snorkeling was fun - very pretty coral reef.
- We also really enjoyed our visit to the castillo and La Popa (at the top of the hill).
- Every meal that Margoth arranged was great. Some of our favorites include: (1) Crepes & Waffles, (2) Cande, (3) Alma, and (4) Juan del Mar.
