Our city guides Sayed and Hicham were excellent and our driver Mo was top notch and such a trooper despite weather issues that created challenging driving conditions and that added significant travel times to our trip. We did feel like some of the tour stops felt as if they were designed to get us to buy things from specific vendors. It would have been preferable for us to identify items we were interested in and/or to request this service.
Hotel Reviews
This Riad was lovely and the Riad staff was amazing. Great breakfast options as well. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Gorgeous setting and we stayed warm despite the cold.
Michelle and her team were great. The Kasbah was lovely. I wish we were able to go when there was warmer weather so that we could enjoy the courtyard more.
Nice rooms and welcoming staff, particularly the younger man on the night staff - he was friendly and helpful.

Nawal was a wonderful host and teacher. It was delightful to be invited into her home and all of the food items were delicious.
Hicham was a great guide who shared a lot of interesting information about the history of Morocco and Marrakech.
Our guide was excellent. We felt a little pressured at the mosaic cooperative, although their process was interesting and the products were cool and they said you didn't have to buy anything, we felt somewhat like we needed to and that we weren't prepared to have a good idea what any of the items should cost.
The drive was pretty and we enjoyed the Gorge but we did not enjoy the walking tour beforehand. The tour guide was really nice but there wasn't much to see and it really felt like we walked through a crumbling town to get to a place to sell us rugs. But also wanted another opportunity to talk about how great our driver Mo was.
Due to road closures in the middle Atlas mountains, we had to take an alternative route to get to Merzouga which added four hours to our already long drive, so we were late to arrive and had to take a truck into the camp. Our driver Mo was amazing during the bad weather and the additional delays. The staff at the desert camp arranged for us to have the camel ride experience in the morning as we went to see the sunrise and helped us set up a quad bike/atv experience in the dunes, which was a lot of fun. The desert camp itself is beautiful and I would highly recommend.
